Maureen walked into the castle and started to go to her room when she heard yelling coming from the dinning room. She slowly crept up to the door to listen. She pressed her ear to the door.

"No dear we can't!" she heard her mother cry "we have to if we want her safe!  She will leave the day after tomorrow and that's final." Her father said and Maureen heard footsteps coming to the door so she backed up and ran to her room.

When she got in her room and jumped onto the bed. "What's wrong Maureen?" Someone said, making her jump off her bed and looking around till she saw Samuel sitting in a chair by the big picture window. "Sam! You scared me!" She exclaimed as she walked up to him and playfully hit him in the arm .

Samuel smiled and pulled her into a quick hug before he became serious again. "So what's wrong?" He asked again.  Maureen sighed and walked to her bed and sat down. "I over heard mother and father talking about me. They said I have to leave here!"  She said putting her hands over her eyes. "Do you know why?" Samuel asked looking at Maureen worried. "No." She answered then looked at him. He looks so serious she thought to herself . "Why are you in my room anyway Sam it's late." Samuel looked down at the floor. "Well.." he said slowly "I am here to tell you the same things your parents said." Samuel explained.  Maureen looked at him "WHAT!" She screeched her voice going two octaves higher.

Samuel clamped his hand over Maureen's mouth so she would be quiet.  He prayed no one heard her. But then he heard foot steps running to Maureen's room. He let go of Maureen and ran to the window and jumped out which made Maureen scream even more because they were on the third floor.

Samuel felt the cool air flow through his hair as he jumped out of Maureen's bedroom. He landed on the balls of his feet then looked up at the third story window he just jumped out of.  He could hear Maureen talking to someone.

John watched his brother jump from the window and heard Maureen's screams follow him. He stepped out and walked to his brother. "That didn't work." John said. "Really, I didn't notice" Samuel said sarcastically, "now what?' John looked at his brother. "Its Ivy's turn to try." Samuel replied John nodded and told Ivy what to do before him and Samuel walked home again.

Maureen looked out the window after every one had left. Samuel had jumped out this window!!  Her brain told her, Maureen thought about what she had seen. She always knew Samuel was different ever since his 13th birthday. She just ignored it most of the time. Then she thought about when every one came rushing into her room asking why she was yelling she told them she seen a bug on her bed and it scared her. They all nodded and left. A soft knock on her door brought her out of her thoughts "come in!"  Maureen chirped and in walked Ivy, Maureen's best friend. "Ivy what are you doing here.? I thought you were away for the day? "

Ivy smiled at Maureen and nodded her blond hair bobbing when she did. "I just got back." She said sitting on Maureen bed. Ivy looked at her and frowned her curious blue eyes studied Maureen. "What really happend because I know the bug thing is just a lie." Ivy said breaking the silence. Maureen sighed knowing she couldn't win this fight and told Ivy ever thing.
