Chapter nine

Maureen woke up and layed there for a moment then remembered what happened and she shot up out of the blankets...wait blankets where's my bed!  Maureen thought and looked around. She was in the forest. There was a camp around her with her so called friends sleeping around the now dead fire. Maureen took this as a time to escape she slowly stood up and walked to where the horses were tied.

 She didn't even bother to saddle Camarel she just picked up her bag and got on the horse . She was soon riding through the forest not knowing where she was she just went with the horse.. about twenty minutes latter Maureen heard three more horses behind her and someone calling her name. Maureen looked back and saw Ivy,John and Samuel behind her. She pushed the horse to go faster and it did.

Samuel was shaken awake. He opened his eyes to see Ivy panicking and packing up to camp while John was standing over him with a worried face. "Come on we have to go get her!" Ivy screamed at John Samuel jumped up and looked around to see Maureen was not there " Where is she!?" He asked John. " She ran, if we hurry up we can catch her." He yelled running to the horses and getting on his. Ivy did the same and the started off after Maureen. Samuel looked at his horse and ran to it jumping on and going after Ivy and John. About twenty minutes latter Maureen heard three more horses behind her and someone calling her name. Maureen looked back and saw Ivy, John and Samuel behind her. She pushed the horse to go faster and it did. Soon Samuel was in the front and he could just see Maureen's hair tossing as she looked back. He saw her pushing the horse to go faster. Samuel had never seen Camarel go that fast. Samuel looked at his brother and Ivy then jumped from his horse and landed with his four black paws hitting the ground and he was off.

 Maureen looked back and saw Ivy and John slowing down and John was holding on to Samuel's horse. Now where did he go? she asked herself. But before she could do anything else a  big black wolf with green eyes shot out of the bushes scaring Camarel who instantly stopped and bucked Maureen off.  Maureen went through the air and hit a tree. She slid down the tree as the wolf came running towards her. Maureen stood up and ran, the wolf not far behind her. Maureen was jumping over logs and ducking under tree branches she turned to look at the wolf who was running after her keeping a steady pace behind her she watched it and saw it getting ready to jump. Maureen turned around and tried to run faster but the wolf snarled and sprung. The wolf landed on Maureen's back knocking her down but she twisted so she could look at the wolf.

 Maureen looked up and the wolf that was pinning her down by her shoulders its familiar green eyes staring her in the eyes then she then recognized those eyes "Samuel?" She asked and it nodded its head. " get off me!" She cried but he wouldn't get off so Maureen started to cry tears running down her cheeks " Samuel get off me your hurting me!" She cried and Samuel was off of her in a instant Maureen kicked her leg out and it hit Samuel's front feet and he stumbled.  Maureen took the opportunity and started to run again.

 Samuel jumped on to Maureen's back but she twisted under him so she could see him. Samuel had her pinned under him by her shoulders. Her brown eyes stared into his and he felt as if she was looking into his very soul. Her brown hair was fanned out around her."Samuel?" She asked him and he nodded she cried for him to get off by he didn't move. When he saw tears running down her cheeks he wanted to kiss them away Maureen yelled at him " Samuel get off your hurting me!" He jumped off her not wanting to hurt her. But she brought her leg out and kicked his front legs he stumbled and she jumped up and ran. Samuel growled at himself for letting her trick him again but ran after her. Samuel shifted back to his human form and grabbed Maureen's wrists spinning her around to face him. He caught her other wrists just before she could raise her hand to hit him.

 Maureen stared at Samuel who was holding her wrists and looking at her. Why does he have to look like that? She asked herself. Her wrists were tingling where he touched her bare skin. She tried to get free but he would not let her go. The others were not far behind them.  Maureen could just make out the shapes of the horses running to them. " Let me go Sam!"

 "No Maureen." He replied calmly. She started to pull away from him but she couldn't because he was using his super strength to hold her. She kept pulling Samuel looked at her " Maureen stop that right now!" He snapped worried she would hurt herself " Or you'll do what Sam?" She snorted and continued to pull. Samuel let Maureen's wrists go and grabbed her by the waist and threw her over his shoulder. She yelped in surprise then went completely still "SAMUEL!" She shrieked trying to slid down.  She was trying really hard to move. Samuel turned around and saw why; there were 10 wolves and 15 humans and vampires behind  them all ready to fight. Samuel put Maureen behind him protectively and growled. One wolf crouched down and sprang....
