---Enid shot up straight from her bed, she was panting heavily and was breathing heavily too. Her heartbeat was beating fast but was quickly returning to its normal state.
"Hoot?" Her Hoothoot tilted his head and looked at his trainer with his big red and black eyes. Enid looked at Hoothoot and shrugged off the dream she just had and gave him a reassuring smile, "Don't worry about it, it's just a nightmare."
However, her Hoothoot gave her an 'are-you-serious' look. Hoothoot was always like this ever since he decided to join in Enid's team, being the third Pokémon she has. While Blue had a jolly and a carefree personality and Lanturn had a calm and modest one, Hoothoot in the other hand is the extremely serious and overprotective Pokémon she has. "Hoot, hoothoot." Hoothoot said that Enid felt like a specific tone that a mother uses to scold her child.
Enid got up from bed and stood infront of the mirror. "I told you, it's really nothing to worry about." She said while fixing her messy white hair by using a brush she grabbed from the nightstand near Hoothoot's wooden bird house.
After that she did her daily routine: take a quick shower, dress up in her usual white dress and black sleeveless coat, cook breakfast and check on the injured Pokémon. As she entered the recovery room, the Taillow was already awake and was waiting for its bowl to be refilled which Enid notices. She called out to Blue who was just finished eating his Pokémon food while both Lanturn and Hoothoot were still eating theirs (Lanturn was in those long aquariums by the way, and his 'Pokémon food' were like fish flakes), went inside the recovery room and went to Enid who was checking on the bird Pokémon's wing.
"Lucario!~" Blue said, getting his trainer's attention. Enid turned around and smiled when she saw her Lucario. "Quick as ever, already finished your breakfast huh?"
Lucario nodded in agreement. "Cario!"
"That's good," Enid said and picked up the empty bowl that used to be filled with Pokémon food and handed it over to Blue. "Blue, please refill this back with Pokémon food, and just the usual one." She said. Blue nodded and gave her a quick salute which made Enid giggle and then Blue ran to the kitchen to refill the bowl.
Enid kneeled down and looked at the Taillow again. "I know you're hungry, food will be here shortly and you won't be disappointed. Not only is my Lucario a great partner he's also a better cook than me." She awkwardly chuckled, the idea of her Pokémon being a much better cook than her made her laugh because it was the truth, she never really was a great cook but she's trying. She's not mad at Blue for being better than her as well, instead, she was proud.
"Taillow!" Taillow flapped its free wing happily.
"I'll check on you later okay? I still need to check on the others."
And just like what Enid said, she checked on the other Pokémon that were either injured or abandoned. There wasn't much Pokémon than usual, so she managed to not only check on everyone but also managed to have a small talk with them despite of the fact she couldn't understand them.
Her phone inside her black coat's pocket rang, her ringtone was loud enough to wake up the sleeping Pokémon inside the room, not to mention it was embarrassing too but Enid liked it nevertheless. She hurried to get her phone and quickly answered it not even bothering who it was.
"H-hello. . . ?" She answered, stuttering. She slightly turned around and saw the Pokémon looking at her which made her leave and go to the living room.
"Enid! Good morning!"
Her eyes widened. "P-professor Birch! It's been a while!"
She head Professor Birch chuckle, "Yup! How are you?" he asked through the phone. "I'm fine, just doing my stuff as usual." She said back, both of them had a little chat of catching up. Enid first met the professor when she was twelve, she was tagging along with Don because he had some errands to do and he introduced her to the professor explaining on how she was studying herbology. The professor took interest in it and got to know her better and taught her more stuff about Pokémon to expand her knowledge.
"Say, Enid. I have a little favor to ask you." The professor said after he was done explaining some random facts about healing just to amuse her. Enid's eyebrows rose, "Yeah? What is it, professor?"
"Professor Oak has informed me that a trainer from the Kanto region is coming here and is going to challenge the league."
"And? I'm listening."
"But the starter Pokémon have been a bit off, they're barely eating and have not been so active lately. They're not usually like this." Birch stated, "We tried everything— potions, full restores and any healing items. Nothing."
"Hm, must be something from the food." The white haired girl mumbled. "Don't worry professor, I'll be there!"
Just as she was about to dash into the kitchen, Donovan, who just woke up, stopped her. Which surprised her because she thought he was already in work?
"Enid! Where are you going?" He asked. "Just to the kitchen, the Professor is having some Pokémon food problems and he needed my help." Enid told him, walking straight to the kitchen which he followed to have breakfast.
"Wait, aren't you supposed to be in work by this time?"
"Yup." Donovan laughed as if it was nothing. "But I told them I was sick so I'm staying home."
Enid looked at him with a suspicious look as she was grabbing some bags of Blue's homemade Pokémon food. "Wait, are you really sick?"
"A bit," He said while pouring some fresh moomoo milk from the fridge inside an empty glass. "But I wanted to help you out with your thing, so if you're away I can take over."
Enid said a simple 'oooh' and nodded in agreement, she told Donovan that she'll be back for a minute or an hour which Donovan nodded and ate his breakfast. Enid called Blue to come with her and so he did, she grabbed her other two Pokéballs that had Hoothoot and Lanturn inside and went off to Littleroot Town.
