The next morning ended up being the weekend. I had dinner with Harry’s family last night and it was kinda nerve wrecking but also kind of a good feeling. His mum, Anne, welcomed me into her home with open arms. It felt like I was part of the family. She even said that I kind of was part of the family. I never smiled this big before ever in my whole entire life. Harry’s household was so good and nice, while mine was a total nightmare. I guess is some type of sign telling me that I need Harry in my life. Harry changed everything in my life dramatically, which is a good thing. Harry is kind of like my source to happiness. And I actually need that in my life.
Courtney texted me asking me to come by the warehouse. I accepted and I left towards the warehouse. After that, I had to meet up with Harry at his flat, so we can actually spend time together. He had the flat to himself, so that was just perfect timing. Moments later, I walked into the woods and followed the pathway towards the warehouse. Once I gotten there, I saw Duncan leaning against the door. I stopped in my tracks and noticed that he was waiting for me. He leaned away from the door and began to step towards me. His face looked pissed, his jaw was clenched, and he was staring back at me. I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest.
“Is Courtney here?” I asked.
“She actually just left. I told her I wanted to talk to you alone,” Duncan said.
I brushed my hair back and put some behind my ear. In the back of my head I’m hoping and praying that Courtney didn’t tell Duncan about Harry and I before I could. I took back a step while Duncan took a step forward. Why am I just standing here? I could easily just turn around and run. But Duncan can run faster than any of us and plus, I don’t know what weapon he has on him. So I just stayed still and tried not to panic.
“What did you want to talk about?” I asked.
“Rumors,” Duncan said.
“What rumors?” I asked, trying to act like the innocent.
“Stop the bullshit Natalie. You know the rumors I’m talking about. The whole you and Harry thing. I mean...I didn’t I tell you to stay away from the bastard,” Duncan said, walking towards me. I stood still the whole time and watched Duncan come near me.
I didn’t even know the whole school knew. Kissing in the halls must’ve started a lot of talking. Someone must’ve told Duncan about it. Dammit. Duncan was now in front of me and we were face to face. His blue eyes looking back at me hard. I began to feel intimidated.
“Why do you even care when we’re not even together anymore,” I said, my words trembling. Then Duncan put his hand around my throat, pushing me back against a tree. His face was now closer to mine.
“Because...because I still love you. And it’s really sad that you will rather go with the biggest sex God in school, then go with me...the lad you knew since forever,” Duncan said, his teeth gritted.
There was no way Duncan meant the words he said. He didn’t truly love me. He treated like shit the whole time we were together. And if he actually heard Harry’s story, Duncan would’ve thought of Harry more different. Duncan’s grip began to get tighter around my throat and I started to not be able to breath. I started to put my hands up and mush them into Duncan’s face, but he threw me down to the side and I landed on the ground. I started to cough and began to breath properly. Then my phone started to ring in my pocket. I heard footsteps come near me and Duncan rolled me over to my back and he took my phone out of my pocket. He looked at the screen and back at me.
“A text from Harry. It looks like he’s waiting for you,” Duncan said. Then he threw my phone back behind him and took out his pocket knife from his pocket knife.
