The next morning, I was in the shower washing up while Harry was in my room. It had to be at least ten in the morning. I let the water rinse all through my hair and I brushed my hair back. I think it was much better for Harry to be here, not just for the sex, but just because I won’t be alone and that I’ll know he’ll be safe with me. It was great having Harry around because he always made me smile when I was having a hard time and today -and last night- truly actually did made me smile. I almost kinda forgot what I was afraid of. I forgot about the whole thing with Rose and Duncan. I’m just actually refreshed in my mind. I think I kinda like being suspended ; being away from all the bullshit at school is kind of great.
I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower. I grabbed my towel from the floor and began to dry myself. Then I wrapped the towel around me, tucking a piece inside. I opened the bathroom door and walked down the hall towards my room. I walked inside and saw Harry sitting on my bed and looking down at a notebook. I frowned at him and walked towards him. Then I gasped and snatched it away from him, making him look up at me.
“What?” he asked.
“This is private. Please tell me you didn’t go further than the third page?” I asked.
“You took a really really long shower,” Harry said. I rolled my eyes and turned around, throwing the notebook on the floor.
The notebook was nothing but secrets and other things about what happens in the warehouse. Things that I’ve heard and things that I’ve seen. I never shared it with anyone because whatever happens in the warehouse stays there. I stopped writing in it right after Duncan and I broke up. I didn’t see a need to write in it anymore, but it’s still a private book.
“Now I realize why you’re always so scared,” Harry said.
“Can we stop talking about that,” I said, going through my drawer and taking out my pair of underwear.
“I wanna know too you know. If we’re going to be together, then at least tell me what’s going on,” Harry said.
I took out a sigh and turned around, while putting on my underwear under my towel.
“I never spoke while I was in that warehouse. I only talked to Skylar because she was my best mate there. People were getting beaten up and raped, while I just sat there and watched because I was Duncan’s girlfriend. I should keep quiet at all time unless spoken to. It’s still that way now, but not anymore I don’t think,” I said. I turned back around and took out a big T-Shirt from the drawer and took off the towel.
“Have you ever been beaten up there?” Harry asked.
I put on the T-Shirt and looked back at him.
“No because I was the quiet one. All of my other mates will get pissed at me for not helping and defending them,” I said.
“How about the scratch on your face? Because as I can see, I don’t see a cat anywhere,” Harry said.
“Not talking about that one either,” I said, then there was a door knock from the front door.
I walked out towards the hallway and looked back towards Harry. “Don’t come out of my room unless I tell you to. It might my neighbors or something,” I said, going down the hallway and towards the front door.
I looked in the peephole and couldn’t believe who was standing there. I unlocked the door and opened it, looking at Hugh standing on the front porch. He looked back at me and smiled. I smiled back and gave me a big hug, and him hugging me back.
“I can’t believe it’s you,” I said. I stepped back away from him.
“I thought you were at school and I thought Dad was here because of his car. I wanted to apologize to him,” Hugh said.
