(Trixie's PoV)
I hesitantly opened the door to the old building. It had the same creaking noise as the first time I had ever walked in this building. Although I had come in here multiple times alone it felt weird not having someone walk in with me.
"Trix, come on!" the same voice called. The voice sounded more familiar now. I couldn't picture who it was though. I slowly walked through the building.
"Come on slowpoke!" the voice called as I passed the wall with my bloody handprint.
'Wait a minute,' I thought to myself. I sped up my pace as I went up the stairs.
"Is your scar the reason you're not as fast as you used to be?" the voice asked. With every word I sped up. This wasn't real . . .It couldn't be.
'Is this a dream or what?!' I thought to myself. Maybe it was a dream. Maybe I had never felt the bed shake, heard a voice, have the window open, or even woke up at all. As I approached the last step I nearly fell sense I wasn't paying attention. I caught myself against the wall that had the bloodstain as I stood back up. I ran out into the open room and stopped dead in my tracks.
"It's been a while, Trix. Sorry I couldn't come sooner. Believe me, I would've if I had a chance," the boy who looked to be about a year younger than me, who stood in front of me said.
"A-Adam?" I said shakily. This can't be real. It has to be a dream.
"Yep, that's me," Adam said with that same, awkward laugh I once knew so well.
"But . . .I watched you die. You. . .Can't be alive!" I said.
"Maybe I didn't die. . .maybe I just went into a coma before death and someone on the streets came to check out the gun shots they heard. Maybe when the person found me they took me to the hospital," Adam said with a smile as I rushed over and hugged him. He gladly returned the hug.
"I. . .I missed you so much," I said, fearing if I let go I would lose him.
"I missed you too," he said.
"But, how did you find me?" I asked him.
"I've been looking ever sense I got out of the hospital. On the news I heard something about a 'girl with ice powers saving a diner in New York' and I knew I had to come here," Adam explained.
"Ok, now how am I going to explain this to the others?" I asked myself.
"Umm, what do you mean others?" Adam asked.
"Oh, yeah, well ever sense the whole 'battle for New York' incident I kinda became friends with the Avengers and Tony Stark is letting me stay at Stark Tower sense I have no where else to go," I said sheepishly.
"Well, I'm glad you had somewhere to stay," Adam said.
"Speaking of that, where did you stay? I know you couldn't have been looking for me all day of every single day," I asked.
"Oh well when I was taken to the hospital, the people there didn't know what my one. . .uh, burn was from. SHIELD however, did know and helped. After that I traveled to different SHIELD bases and stuff. I became pretty good friends with Phil, he was the guy obsessed with Captain America," Adam explained.
"Phil was the only agent who treated me nicely," I muttered.
"I would constantly ask agents and workers about you and they would never answer but I knew they had known you by their facial expressions," Adam explained.
"Oh, well, the reason they had those looks is a funny story actually," I said awkwardly.
"They caught you didn't they?" Adam asked.
"Uh. . .no. . .yes," I said awkwardly.
"Wow. . .just wow," Adam laughed.
"Wait so where you the one doing the thing where my bed shook and the window opened?" I asked.
"Oh no, that was Jackie," Adam said.
"Jackie? Who's that?" I asked.
"Her," Adam said as he pointed to the end of the room where a small girl looking around the age of six had been hiding behind a partially burnt box.
"How long have you known her?" I asked as the girl continued to peek her head around the corner of the box.
"Well while looking for you I found her using her power to get away from some SHIELD agents and I asked her about you thinking she might have known something that she overheard a SHIELD agent say. She told me she had seen where you were and she could help if I helped her get away from the SHIELD agents," Adam explained.
"Well I am so glad she did help you! Oh, I also have some news! I figured out why I'm like this, you know with all the snow and ice stuff," I told him.
"Really?" Adam asked.
"Yeah it turns out one of our parents was from another realm and they where a Frost Giant. I got the powers, you didn't. . .hmm," I said.
"What is it?" Adam asked.
"I've kinda told Tony about you so I don't know how I'm gonna explain this," I said awkwardly.
"Well I could do explaining," he suggested.
"Alright then, but what about Jackie?" I asked as I gesture toward her.
"Oh her parents live a few streets down, I can take her back. She's been meaning to go back for a while sense her parents were finally off SHIELD'S radar," Adam explained.
"Ok so why don't you take her there now and I'll head back to Stark Tower before Tony notices I'm gone and I'll come back later, ok?" I asked.
"Got it," Adam said.
"See you soon," I told him.
"Bye," he said as he started to walk out.
'Ok, what the hell am I going to do?! I can't seriously expect Tony to believe any of this! Of course with everything he's seen these past few days, what wouldn't he believe?' I thought to myself. I knew Adam said he would explain but Tony still might not believe it.
"Oh and Trixie there's something you should know," Adam said.
"What is it?" I asked. It better not be something bad.
"Well I. . .how do I put this. . .'changed' a little a few years ago," he said awkwardly.
"Which means?" I asked.
"Well you know how you have the ice powers? Well I kinda got powers in an accident. . .," Adam trailed off.
"WHAT?!" I asked.
"Yep, that's the reaction I expected," Adam said with a slight laugh.
"What happened? How'd you get them? What do they do?!" I asked.
"I'll have more time to explain later," he said as he left. I headed back to Stark Tower, it was still really early in the morning so there's no way Tony was awake. I walked in and went over to the elevator.
"Trixie, what are you doing?" I heard JARVIS ask.
"Damn," I muttered. "JARVIS, not a word about this!" I told him.
"But what were you doing?" he asked.
"It doesn't matter! Don't tell anyone!" I snapped at him as the elevator continued up.
"But-," he began but I cut him off.
"Not a word," I told him.
"Fine," JARVIS said as the elevator opened at the top. I snuck into my bedroom, and luckily the note I left was untouched. I ripped up the paper and casually dropped it out the window. You can never be too careful. I sat down on my bed, thinking about everything that had just happened.
'Is this really happening? Am I really getting my brother back? Is something bad going to happen because with me good things always end really, really badly,' I thought to myself.
