SANDMAN POV
Everything is spinning. Everything. Is. Spinning. E v e r y t h i n g i s s p i n n i n g.
Then darkness.
BENZEDRINE POV
We all looked at each other. Donnie was about to take a step forward, but stopped himself. I sighed.
"If nobody else is going first, then I am. When you come through, don't move an inch from where you land. Hopefully we'll all be in the same place." I said shakily. I stepped in front of the portal, the shadows moving away.
I took a step forward and began feeling the portal start to pull me in. It wasn't long until I was completely gone from the town and now in a dark, empty... place. If you could even call it a place.
I began getting a horrible headache ad everything around me was moving at a rapid pace. I shut my eyes tightly and hugged my body close until I landed on something hard.
I opened my eyes and what met me was completely... normal. I stood up and dusted myself off. When I looked down, I almost about screamed.
I was not longer wearing my normal yellow outfit, but now black jeans, a yellow t shirt, and combat boots. I reached up and felt glasses on my face and a fedora on my head.
Panic began to set in, but I heard a crunching of leaves nearby. This is going to suck.
HORSESHOE CRAB POV
"So, who goes next..?" I looked over worriedly at Donnie.
"Please, don't make me go..?" He look almost to tears. I knew I couldn't make him do it, so, I stood in front of the portal and instead of just letting it pull me in like it did Benz, I just took a headfirst slide into the portal.
Everything seemed grey. Then it changed to black. It felt like my head was being pushed in. I tried screaming but I couldn't even hear my own voice.
Before I knew it, I landed on my back with a thud. I opened my eyes and looked around. Just grass and trees. I stood up and looked down at myself.
My normal red attire had been replaced with a black t shirt, black jeans, some high tops, and a few bracelets on my wrist.
I began to panic, but calmed myself down soon enough. Hopefully I can find Benzedrine and Donnie.
DONNIE POV
I watched Horseshoe disappear into the portal. Now, it was my turn.
I walked to it and felt a slight pull. I jumped back a bit before taking a deep breath and relaxing.
"They're waiting for me over there, I gotta go.." I told myself before stepping back towards the portal. I got pulled in and into darkness.
It began as a colder shade of grey, but soon turned to black. It felt like my head and chest were about to explode.
Then I hit something. It was painful. I stood up and looked around. Reaching up to scratch my head, I notice that there wasn't a green sleeve on my arm. It was bare.
I now sported a black shirt and basketball shorts with some sneakers.
I looked around and saw just trees. I heard some rustling behind me, then footsteps.
3RD POV
Horseshoe Crab came running up behind Donnie. At least, he was pretty sure was Donnie.
"Donnie! What the hell happened, man? Why are we wearing these weird clothes?" Horseshoe rambled out. He had a look of panic on his face.
"I, I really don't know.. where's Benzedrine?" Donnie stumbled over his words. Usually he never does and speaks like he's an expert on anything he does, but now he's tripping over words like Sandman tripped down Benzedrine's lab stairs that one time.
Horseshoe nodded and listened for any sign of Benzedrine. The two began walking until they heard a familiar voice.
"Hello? Hello? Horseshoe? Donnie? Sandman?" It was the same voice they knew and loved. Benzedrine.
"Benzedrine, we're over here!" Donnie shouted and ran towards Benz's voice.
Benzedrine emerged from behind some trees. "Guys! There you are!" A look of relief showed on his face.
The three all group hugged then recanted.
"Alright, we found each other, but now we have to find Sandman." Benzedrine said, a more serious look overcoming his soft features.
"You're right. We should get moving if we want to find him any time soon." Donnie responded.
The boys all nodded and set off in whatever direction felt right. That was west.
Not too long after, they heard the sounds of civilization. Talking, cars humming by, children laughing. When they walked out into it all, it looked nothing like home did.
There was no carousel or green river. No portal to a different land, or photographers everywhere. Also, this town was very large. Their town was quite small, homing maybe about 1,000 or 2,000 people.
"So, this is considered..normal? I don't like it one bit. Plus, I don't think the feeling of mal de mur from coming out of that portal is helping." Benzedrine saying, wobbling slightly.
"I guess so.." Horseshoe responded. He went to put his hand in his pocket but noticed a hard piece of plastic. He pulled it out and looked at it. "Guys, do you all have these too?" It was an ID card. Horseshoes' read 'Joesph Trohman'.
"Yeah, I do." Benzedrine said, pulling out his ID card as well. It read 'Patrick Stumph'.
"I do too." Donnie read his over. It said 'Andrew Hurley'.
"So, are these our actual names? Like, if we were normal people?" Horseshoe, or Joseph, asked.
"I guess so. Also, Andy is a way cooler name than Andrew. If i have to live with this name until we find Sandman, then it's gonna be Andy." 'Andy' complained.
"Yeah, same here. I would much rather go by Joe instead of Joseph." 'Joe' whined.
"Alright, alright. You," Patrick pointed at Andy. "are Andy, and you," he pointed at Joe. "are Joe. I'm Patrick. Now, who the hell knows what Sandman's name is?"
Andy and Joe shrugged.
"Great help, guys. Now quit being querulous and help me find Sandman." Patrick sighed, but as soon as he finished his sentence, there was a loud yell from a familiar voice.
Soon enough, a figure in a black muscle tank and black ripped skinnies walked around a tree. "Horseshoe? Donnie? Benzedrine?" Sandman spoke Benz's name with a happier tone.
"Sandman?" Patrick smiled widely. Sandman nodded.
"Have you found out your names yet?" Sandman was still smiling widely.
"Yep, I'm Joe." The tallest of the group spoke.
"Andy." The tattooed boy answered with a smile.
"Patrick." The shortest male said with a glimmer in his eyes.
"Pete." Pete smiled at his group of friends.
They all hugged and vowed never to leave each other again. It also may have been the time Pete had fallen in love with the small doctor in front of him.
