3RD POV

The four boys walked back in the direction they had remembered their spot under the bridge was. While walking back, there was a poster on the inside of the glass on a store window.

"Hey, guys, check this out." Joe pointed to the poster.

It read in large letters: LOOKING FOR SINGING TALENT, WILL PAY

"Patrick, you sing, you could get paid for that! It's our best option right now!" Andy grinned widely.

"No, no no, I don't sing, trust me." Patrick waved his hands.

"That's not what I hear before coming down to your lab back home, 'Trick. I'll walk in and I hear you belting out lyrics hitting all the notes perfectly." Pete rambled, having could gone on, but stopped himself before it went too far.

"Patrick, this is kind of our only hope right now. We don't have a place to stay, we don't have food, we don't have money; c'mon, we've gotta at least try." Joe pleaded.

Patrick sighed. "Alright, fine. But don't expect me to get the part, okay?"

The other three boys grinned.

"Well, get in there and show 'em whatcha got!" Joe slapped his back and nudged him towards the door.

Smiling nervously back at the three, Patrick pushed through the heavy glass door to be blasted in the face by air conditioning and the smell of roses. Around him was a relatively small lobby with two leather couches and a small tv in the corner.

"Excuse me, ma'am? Hi, so I saw the sign on your window and would like to try out for the spot?" Patrick said as politely as possible.

"Ah yes! Please, follow me!" The middle aged woman behind the desk stood up and walked around. She was even shorter than Patrick with her hair pulled into a tight bun and wearing a professional looking skirt and blazer.

The short boy began feeling uncomfortable as he was walking back with the small woman. He has never sang in front of anyone except occasionally Pete.

"Excuse me, miss, may I just head outside real quick and grab a friend? I would feel more comfortable that way." Patrick asked softly.

"Of course! Whatever makes you comfortable honey." She smiled sweetly.

Patrick nodded thankfully and rushed outside. "Done already? You haven't even been in there for two minutes." Joe said confusedly.

"Sandman, come here." Patrick said, completely ignoring Joe. They had all agreed that they would call each other by their 'normal' names, so they knew Patrick was desperate when he grabbed Pete's arm and took him inside.

Pete didn't question it, although he felt he knew why Patrick would bring him with. It had to have been Patrick was getting nervous. They finally met up with the kind woman and she took them into a small room.

"Mr. Weekes will be in momentarily." The lady, who Patrick had seen her name tag said 'Mrs. Way', said kindly and left the room.

"So, I'm guessing you got nervous and that's why you brought me back here?" Pete asked, glancing down at the boy beside him.

"Shut up, Wentz." He mumbled.

The door opened and in walked a tall, handsome man with light blue eyes and dark brown hair.

He smiled at the two while sitting at a cluttered desk. "Hello, I'm Dallon, what're your names?"

"I'm Pete, and this is Patrick. He's the one that will be trying out today." Pete kindly introduced them as he could see Patrick deep in thought.

"Wonderful, now, Patrick, have you selected a song to perform?" Dallon looked at the small boy who had been hunched over.

"Yes sir, it's actually an original song, if that's alright." Patrick smiled nervously.

"Of course, of course! Now, show me whatcha got!" The tall man smiled widely.

"You could've knocked me out with a, feather
I know you've heard this all before but we're just hell's, neighbors..."

Pete's eyes widened as he realized what Patrick was singing. It was a song that he had wrote and let Patrick see.

About 2 minutes passed and Patrick had finished. By the time he had sung the last note, his hand was clenched around Pete's tightly. Patrick realized what he was doing and pulled away, a slight blush on his face.

Dallon sat staring in awe. "Patrick, that was absolutely incredible! You have the part!"

Patrick's head snapped up. "Wait, really?" His eyes sparkled in excitement.

"Absolutely! How could I say no to a voice like that?" Dallon laughed happily.

Things would turn out okay.
