I watch as Ted, Mrs. Stuffy, Bonnibel, and Mr. Fleece all escorted (Y/N) out of the room, leaving me alone. I sigh as I take a seat in the recliner and rub my forehead in frustration. "This one didn't even last a day." I sigh again. "I guess it can't be helped, the ones around their age are the most rebellious, but still..." I rest my head in my hand as I rest the other arm on the armrest.
I think of how I had thought this one was easy enough to manipulate. I watched them carefully and they already had an unstable relationship with their family and their friends were easy enough to pick off. I had even tortured and murdered their mother right in front of them!
"WHY AREN'T THEY OBEYING ME?!" I stand up as I scream this question into the musty air of my world. I sit back down in a huff, stretching my legs out on the floor. I put my hands together and squeeze them in contemplation. 'Why aren't they obeying me?' They should be afraid of me! So afraid that they wouldn't even think about leaving me! So...why did they run? I don't get it, how did they find the courage to try and leave?
I heave out another sigh, this is beyond frustrating. It just doesn't make sense. They don't make sense. Well, what I do know is that I need to keep a closer eye on them. I run my hand through my hair, scratching my scalp. After I did so I caught a glimpse of red only to see my claws covered in blood, my blood. I slightly growled at the minor detail.
I sigh once again then put my face in my hands. "Okay, okay, get a hold of yourself. You are the one in control here, they have nothing compared to your power. But then why do they make me so angry?" I close my eyes and exhaled sharply through my nose at the other thought that entered my mind. "This is just a cycle of disappointment."
The cycle: I find a friend then I convince them to promise me their loyalty, but then they get ungrateful. They just stop being the friend that I once knew, the friend that promised to stay with me. Then I have to punish them for their ungratefulness. Such an inevitable cycle that will keep spinning around and around like the hands of a clock.
"Hm, but just like a clock, it can be broken, right?" I look up and around to spot Mr. Bunny sitting on a nearby table, swinging their legs in an almost bored fashion over the edge. They raise their stuffed head to acknowledge what I said but didn't answer. I groan out my frustrations and lay back in the recliner, letting it kick my feet up.
"Why don't you just kill them?" I look back to see Mr. Bunny's head down, focusing on their swinging legs as if they didn't say anything. I just stare at them for a few minutes while I thought. "I mean," Mr. Bunny raised his head to look into my leafy green eyes with his lifeless plastic ones, "They are just like all of the others, right?"
As much as I wanted to agree, I hesitated for a moment. I don't know why I stopped to think, much like (Y/N) did before making our promise, but I did. If Mr. Bunny had eyebrows, he would've raised one. He looked at me, expecting an answer I wasn't too sure I wanted to share. Instead of my reply, silence waded through the air in the room as we stared intently at each other.
Mr. Bunny noticeably slumped over at my lack of a reply, "That's what I thought."
I sat up a little straighter at the comment, "What's that supposed to mean?" My observing gaze turned into a questioning one.
The stuffed bunny waved his little plush arm in the air to brush off the question, "Nothing, but hear me out when I tell you this," Mr. Bunny had stood up on the table, "You better start thinking about why this one is so special, because if you can't explain what's so special then the others aren't gonna see a point on bending the rule for this one." He's right on that one if I let this escape attempt slide then my toys will get confused and suspicious.
I finally look away from the eyes I had sewn into that plush bunny all those years ago. There's a rule that if the Chosen One tries to abandon me or leave then they're to die. It's been that way for years so it would be confusing if I suddenly bent the rule for just some Chosen One.
Mr. Bunny jumps off of the table and walks calmly to the door. At the door frame, he glances back at me with those artificial eyes. He stops walking then, with his head still turned back to me, he says, "I know you better than most of the toys here and sometimes even better than you, and I know you're confused right now," He pauses for a second, maybe to gather his thoughts or even dramatic effect, "But because you didn't kill them right when you found them, that means there really is something different about them. Whether it's the pure fact that you can't bring yourself to kill them or something deeper is a mess you need to sort out on your own. The other toys might not accept that as an answer, though. The others might not like the shallow answer you tried to give me, so for now," Mr. Bunny looked forwards towards the doorway and started walking slowly again. "Just act like your normal self at least until you sort out your mess." With that, he saunters down the hallway.
Again, he's right, I can't tell my toys anything for now. Who knows what would happen if they knew...
They'd probably kill them.
