At practice, the locker room was filled with my teammates asking Jennie about what happened with Vernon. Jennie smiled and turned pink just thinking about it,

"Ok settled down girls I'll tell you everything." She said. "So when Vernon walked up to me, he told me that he was really happy that we sit next to each other at lunch and that we became partners during practice. And then he asked me if I wanted to go to the movies after our game on Sunday!" She squealed.

All the girls in the locker room screamed and squealed with excitement too. All of this boy stuff was really new to us because our school had been all girls our whole life. I was really happy for Jennie though, I always knew she'd have a boyfriend.

"Jennie," I said. "I want to congratulate you on being the first girl to have an actual boyfriend on this team," I said. Everyone clapped as if it was the biggest deal ever. Jennie laughed.

"Well umm Sanha and I are doing our flirting thing," Lisa said smiling widely. The rest of the girls began to talk about how they had some type of relationship with a boy. Then Joy on our team turned to me,

"Y/N are you interested in any boy ?" She asked

"Umm," I hesitated. Was I really the only one who didn't have a love interest? "Well, not really," I said

Lisa gasped, "Liar! I know you and my brother have a thing !" She said, which made everyone start talking about every time they've seen us together.

"No no it's really not like that," I said

"Either way, you guys would look really good together." Joy said. Everyone nodded and began to walk out. When everyone left Jennie said to me,

"Joy isn't wrong"

"We all have an opinion," I said smiling at her.

"Whatever," She said before walking out, I soon followed her out. The coaches were already there so I quickly stood beside my coach. Eunwoo stood beside his coach and our teammates were lined up shoulder to shoulder facing the opposite team.

"Teams," My Coach said. "This season may be the most important volleyball season of your lives. Many of you will go on to play for the city, so with this being your last year you want to do your best. We'll have a special guest doing the commentary on your games since they'll be aired on television."

Everyone whispered to the person beside them, wondering who was the special guest.

"So the big special guest is, Mina Young." My coach said.

My eyes widened. I was jumping up and down on the inside, Mina Young was an amazing volleyball player. She inspired me to get better at volleyball. I couldn't wait to meet her. She led her team to 3 gold medals at the Olympics, she was really amazing and the best Striker id ever saw.

"I want you guys to do your best and try to impress her. She may or may not be writing recommendations for whoever impresses her, which could be more than one person. Boy or girl." The Boys Coach said

Lisa raised her hand, " so what is she writing a recommendation for?"

My coach sighed, already used to her ditziness, "for the third year players that impress her, she'll write a letter of recommendation to help them play for the city next year."

"Ohhhhhh I'm gonna do my best!"  Lisa said excitedly

"Lisa you're only in your 2nd year," My coach said

"ohhhhh! I'll do my best next year !" Lisa said

"You all have to do your best every year! Whether you're in year 1,2 or 3 it's important you work hard and do your best. That's why we need to start practice!" My coach said

"Right get with your partners! 50 jumping jacks warm up! Let's go!" The Boys coach yelled.
