Chapter 15: Grounded

The car just had to drive with a high speed making me unable to phrase out what he had just said and I couldn't even ask him cuz he gave me a light kiss on the head and walked out

I entered the house quietly trying to avoid waking granny or dad up but guess i wasn't that lucky,dad flicked the lights up and I sighted grandma beside him as well

"Hey dad,granny"I greeted brushing my hair behind my ears

"Where were you?"he asked in a very harsh tone which totally got scared

"I .....um,went out to see a friend"I said stammering

"Friend?, And you couldn't see that friend of yours in the daylight?"

"I didn't see him in school,thats why"

"Look you know I do not tolerate coming in late to my house Monique"he said as I nodded in affirmation

"Your dad and I were worried Monique,we thought maybe we'd lose you like we had lost Monica"she wore that sad look that melted my heart, dad doesn't normally seem to care about what time I come in or left

Something is definitely wrong here.....I thought

"And for that Monique, you're grounded for a week

"Grounded!"I shouted

"Yeah, you heard me"he said as he stood up taking the stairs,i tried calling out to him but he didn't listen then I went to meet gramny but she refused she couldn't say anything to dad, 'he is in a bad mood my dear' she had told me just that and in anger I ran up to my room

I got a text from aaron

Hey, how's your night going?

Fortunately seeing his text made me smile and I replied

Not cool,just got grounded for coming in late

I waited for his reply while checking Andy's last seen,she stopped talking to me since the unquenchable thing,she really thought I was dating a.s.k and she had disappointed me by not believing me. Imagine if I had told her about Josh being a jerk,she wouldn't have believed me either

I had spent half of my night chatting with aaron,he had put me in a good mood after all that had happened tonight

The sound of my alarm blared in my ears

I groaned, flipping onto my Back as I let the sound continue screeching in my bedroom and finally I turned the alarm off glad the curtains were closed so I wasn't exposed to the ray of sunlight

I freshened up,eyed my closet and decided to just go for a jean mini skirt,a white tank top and a denim to go with it

I went downstairs knowing dad must have left for work then saw that breakfast was served but I ignored it even after hearing grandma call me thrice. I headed to the garage ,slid into my car,jammed the door and drove off
