Layla's POV

I wake up to my alarm clock blaring the sound of "strings" by Shawn Mendes because...um...Shawn Mendes. I roll out of bed, I mean I literally roll onto the floor and land on my face.
"Oof" I say to myself trying to gather the energy to get up off the floor. Soon enough I am off the floor and getting ready. I put y hair into two Dutch braids bc my hair looks like Trash today (an:me everyday btw) once I finish that I wash my face, put in my contacts, and go to get dressed. I put on a little concealer, some lipgloss, and some mascara. And then I'm done and head to my car.

I get in the drivers seat and plug in the AUX cord and connect it to my phone and play "New Rules" by Dua Lipa. As I'm on my way to pick up my best friend Addie as I do everyday before school.
"One don't pick up the phone,

I've got new rules I count em" I sing as I pull into Addie's driveway. I text her saying I'm here I soon see her walk out her front door and into my car.
"TO DUNKIN" she screams pointing onward before she even got situated in the car.
"ONWARD" I scream as I put the car and drive and drive down the road to the nearest Dunkin Doughnuts. We go through the drive through I get a toasted almond iced coffee bc it's hot af in LA and Addie gets a hazelnut iced coffee and we make our way to hell *cough* I mean school... as we pull up to the school I try to find a parking space and I see an open spot and as I got to turn into it another Car quickly whips into the spot before me causing me to almost hit the red convertible the belonged to none other than Macy Feildhouse. You know the queen Bee of the school ugh I can't stand her but whatever you can't get along with everyone.

As Addie and I get to our lockers and head our separate ways I head to my Algebra class and get in my assigned seat mostly because the bell was gonna ring in like .2 seconds *RING* as soon as the bell rang we started class. After math was my German class. Then, finally it was time for lunch.  Addie and I didnt have the same lunch period sadly so I decided to go to the dance studio and dance because i have nothing better to do.  I've been dancing hip hop since I was 10 so I have a good 6 years of dance experience, it's just something I enjoy to do in my free time.  

    I Start dancing and with every beat I move to the rhythm as the song carry's on I get lost in the music and my feet take off and do their own thing, dancing is like my second language. I was so lost in the music I didn't notice someone was in the room with me as the song finally stopped I went to get a drink of my water sitting on the sidelines. 
(Dance at the top^ third dance)
    "Hey" some unfamiliar face said from the corner by the door
    "Oh um hey" I said
    "do you by any chance know how to get to room 407, sorry I'm new here." The guy says
    "Yea sure you go down the hallway take the first left and it should be on your right." I said as I looked up it was the first time I actually looked at him and DAMN.
he had the cutest smile, he had brown hair with lighter highlights, his hair kinda looked like noodles but who am I to judge they looked cute on him. 
    "Thank you.  By the way my name is Jack" he said as he stuck out his hand to shake.
    "Layla" I answered as I shook his hand
    "By the way, your a really good dancer."  He said genuinely
    "Oh... you saw that" I said kinda embarrassed I never really dance in front of people
    "Yea you were amazing, I literally can't dance for my life." He says as he dabs. did he literally just dab? This kid is kinda weird but Its cute lmao. 
    "Thank you, i've been dancing for six years.  I don't really dance in front of people though."
    "Well anyways I gotta get to class I'll see you soon hopefully, Layla" he said as he flashed me a cute grin as he walked out the dance studio.  I cleaned up all my stuff and headed to my next class which was my history class.  After history class I headed to my chemistry.  As I walk in I sit in my seat and right after the bell rings jack comes barging in the door immediately apologizing for interrupting. He's so cute lmao.  The teacher quickly lets him introduce himself, apparently he came from Pennsylvania and likes to skate board. 
    "Okay Mr.Avery you can take any empty seat in the classroom if you'd like" Mr.Daniels said.  Jack scans the room and his eyes meet mine as he makes his way towards my desk and sits down next to me sending me a wink
    "So for the next few weeks we will be working on a project and I won't give you much time in class to do it so you'll have to do it on your freetime.  Your partners will just be your seat partners since I do t feel like putting you guys in partners."   Mr.Daniels stated man he's like the laziest teacher. Once he's done explaining the rubric for the project he let us go to start working on the project as soon as he stopped talking jack turned to me and said
    "hey lab partner" I let out a little giggle and I already know we won't get anything done because the rest of the period we just spent goofing around and not getting anything done.
    "When are you free to work on the project?"I asked
    "Anytime" he replied loosely
    "Is Today fine? My house or yours?" I questioned trying to figure out plans
    "Yea today's fine but I think we should go to your house, I'm still kinda unpacking"he said
    "Ok meet me in the parking lot after school and we can drive to my house."  I said as the bell rang interrupting what I was saying.  Soon enough it was the end of the day Addie's mom picked her up from school so I didn't have to worry about her.  I stood outside my car waiting for jack as soon an he appeared out the school doors I waved him over to the car, instantly seeing a smile being spread across his face.  As he jogged to the car he jumped into the passenger seat we start jamming out to music, turns out we have pretty similar tastes in music for the most part so there was no arguing. I swiftly put the gear in drive and we made our way to my house. Not really knowing this night would strengthen our friendship, and make us inseparable.

AN; ah that ending sucked booti actually this whole chapter was kinda bad sorry dudes. I like to write but I'm not good at it haha. Anywho thanks for reading plz vote and yea idrk what to say lol
