*********

The bell rang for the dismissal of school and I went out to the parking lot to meet Layla. I saw her standing out side her car waiting once her eyes caught mine a smile spread across her face.  Man, her smile was beautiful.  As I approached her we got in the car and she handed me the AUX. I started playing music turns out we have pretty similar tastes in music. After awhile of laughing at random things and jamming out to music we made it to her house. It was a small cozy house that was spotless that looks to be able to house three people at most.

"I hope you weren't expecting a trust fund teenager." She said as she let out a small chuckle.
"Nah you're to humble to be a Trust Fund Baby, I like your house though it's cozy" I said genuinely
"Thanks we really try to make it homey. I have to work part time at the diner down the street and my mom works two jobs" she stated
"What about your dad?" I asked but then regretted it as soon as I saw her eyes change from content to upset. "You don have to tell me I shouldn't have asked I'm sorry." I apologized
"No it's ok, My dad just left my mom, my brother, and me when I was 8 I was to young to understand what was happening. One day he was there for me the next he was gone, never to return. But the memories I do have of him are good ones and I cherish them." She said sadly
"I'm so sorry, nobody should have to go through that." I said trying to comfort her
"It's ok I just try to forget about it and not wonder about why he did what he did I'm happy and content where I am right now and I'm happy I have my mom she's the best honestly she just wants the best for us." She said but you can tell she meant every word she said.
"Well that's good and now you have me you can talk to me about anything." I said wholeheartedly.
"Thank you Jack, Now let's at least try to get started on this project." That didn't last long because 5 minuets into trying to work in the project we got sidetracked...once again...and were messing around and laughing at things that literally weren't even funny. But I mean that's how you know you've found a good friends with someone, if they can make you laugh at literally nothing. After a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter we both were on our phones when I got a text from Layla.
