CHAPTER 5
What Lies Beneath

| Yunhee's POV |

It's 1:25 am and I still can't sleep. Jinwoo's not even home yet. I wonder where he is. Maybe he's working overnight?

I went out of the room to get some water in the kitchen.

I opened the fridge and as soon as I closed it, I dropped the pitcher and screamed.

"OH MY GO-" I tried to balance myself by holding on the fridge handle. My heart was beating insanely fast.

"YA! Kim Taehyung! What the hell! You can't just sneak up on people like that!" I lashed out at him.

"I'm sorry but fuck, I thought there was a thief roaming around the house! I mean hello, its one in the morning!" He rolls his eyes and grabs his hair.

"Yeah well I'm not a thief. Just your sister in law." He just bit his lip and looked away.

"Sadly."

He was mumbling something.

"What'd you say? I couldn't hear you." I say while cleaning the floor since the water was spilled everywhere.

"Oh, nothing. Anyways, why are you even awake?" He looks at me confused.

I sigh and stopped cleaning for a second.

"Jinwoo's still not home." I looked up at him.

"Really..?" He furrowed his brows then looked away.

"Yeah..I don't know, he's probably overworking himself again." I went back into cleaning.

"Here, I'll handle this. Go get some rest Yunhee." He kneels down.

"No its fine. I can clean this up." I shake my head.

"If you don't sleep right now, I'll kiss you."

I froze.

"Uhm....uh.." I didn't know what to do so with that, I just left and ran away.

My heart was beating fast and a smile crept up to my face as I reached the bedroom.

Aish.

What's wrong with me? I shouldn't be smiling.

My smile disappeared as soon as I remembered that Jinwoo was not home yet.

| Jinwoo's POV |

"So then, I told him he needs to stop buying glasses if he's gonna break them anyway!" She tells me while laughing and I laughed again.

These past couple of hours, me and Seohyun have been laughing and telling stories with each other. I'm currently at her apartment. She just got back from the U.S after 2 years.

We stopped laughing for a second and just sighed.

"I missed this." She said while looking away, smiling.

"Me too Seohyun-ah.." She looks at me and I smiled.

Suddenly it got quiet.

We were both looking into each other's eyes. She started leaning in closer..

and closer..

*ring ring*

She slowly backs off while looking away.

"Uh..you should get that." She says while tugging a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"Yeah." I awkwardly say.

I pull my phone out.

*don't answer calling..*

I sighed and answered the phone.

"What?" I say with annoyance.

"Are you kidding me?! It's almost two in the morning and you're responding with a "what"? Might I remind you that you have a wife back home!" Taehyung angrily shouts at me that I had to pull the phone away from my ears.

Crap. I look at my watch and it is almost 2 am.

"Whatever fine. I'll be home soon." I hang up.

"Who was that? He sounded mad." Seohyun asks with a look of concern.

"That was my brother. Don't mind him." She nods.

"I have to go Seohyun." I stand up

"Oh okay. Well..drive safe. Let's hang out again soon?" She smiles at me.

"Of course. Bye." I pull her into a hug. I admit, I missed her a lot.

I pulled away and we both smiled at each other. I then left.

I started walking to my car and before I drove home, my mind was filled with questions and thoughts.

| Taehyung's POV |

I paced around the living room waiting for the asshole to come home.

It's one thing to hang out with your ex but its definitely another thing to hang out with your ex till 2 in the damn morning, especially when you have a wife at home.

I can treat her so much better.

Moments later, I hear the door knob turning. I finally see him walk in.

"Are you crazy?!" I walk towards him.

"Calm the fuck down Taehyung! I was working!" He tried to hush me.

Working? Really? Okay.

"Oh really now? Are you sure about that?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

I then noticed something. He wasn't wearing his ring.

"Yes. Now excuse me, I'm tired." He pushes his way against me and headed upstairs.

I swear, if you mess up Jinwoo..

I'm going to make her mine.
