To The Beach

  "Wanna go play a prank?" Beau asks after maybe 10 minutes of waiting for my brother.

  "Nope." I reply simply. He looks down at me and I look up into his green eyes. He smiles and I turn away.

  "Want to go get Jai and Elli and get out of here?" I nod, smiling up at him. He smiles and kisses me on the lips.

  "Hey! I'm still mad at you..." I say and he kisses me again. "You-" He kisses me again for a long time. "Nevermind." I mumble and start towards the dance. It's lit up so beautiful, there are goregous japanese lanterns and lights like something you would see at prom. Beau twines our fingers together. "You make it hard to be mad." I say as he helps me up on the platform.

  "That's the point." He grins at me. I see my brother. "You go get them. I'll be right back," I start to let go of his hand but he spins me back to him.

  "Don't be long." He whispers, smiles and kisses me. I wish I would stop getting that feeling in my stomach. It's quite annoying. He lets go of my hand and I twirl away from him. I run to my brother and his date. She's taller than me and is a ginger.

  "Hey," I say to Dame. He smiles at me. "Beau, Elli, Jai and I are going to the beach, so I'm getting a ride home. Just thought I'd let you know." I smile sweetly at his date.

  "Okay, see you tonight or tomorrow." He grins, and I high five him. I turn to leave but Beau is right there. "Is this Beau?" Dame asks, and I wish I could crawl in a hole and die.

  "This is Beau. Is this Dame?" Beau says, and I hold back laughter. He is such a kid. I love it!

  "This is Dame! Nice to meet you, Beau." He holds out his hand and they shake.

  "I'll take good care of your sister tonight, don't worry." He smiles and wraps his arm around me. Dame smiles.

  "I wasn't worried. She's 18 and can handle herself, I mean, come on! That's why she moved in with me, to have freedom." He grins and pinches my cheek, I kick his shin and smile sweetly. He sticks his tongue out and I spin back around walking away. Beau follows.

  "Jai and Elli are in the car." I smile and nod. "They took the back seat, so you're stuck with me."

  I frown sarcastically. "Aw, man. That sucks! I don't want to sit with my boyfriend... Cooties!"

  "Sorry, but I think you'd have cooties by now..." I look up at him and he winks. I laugh and start to run for the black car. "Hey! I don't think so!" He yells after me and I start laughing as I hit the pavement off the grass, and almost to the car. He grabs me around the waist and spins me around. "Got you!"

  He sets me down, and I feel dizzy as I hit the ground. "Woah! That was like, insane." I say and close my eyes. He lifts me off the ground and carries me wedding style to the car. He opens my door and I get in. He closes it. "Hi guys," I say turning around only to see Elli and Jai intensely making out. "Oh- ew." I say and turn back around. Beau gets in, buckles up and starts the car. He drives a bit down the road and turns into the beach's parking lot. "You're crazy!" I say, "We really shouldn't be here, something bad might happen."

  "Okay, one, I'm only crazy about you, and two, what;s going to happen? A beached whale might get you, Lila! Oh no!" I look at him, mouth wide open.

  "That is so not funny! Beached whales are scary! You can't help them, and they're so stupid!" I say seriously, and glare at him. He parks the car, looks over at me and laughs. "You're stupid!" I laugh and get out of the car. Elli follows me and then Jai and Beau get out. Elli takes my hand and runs towards the sand. We scream and laugh for a few minutes and then collapse in the sand. Jai comes over and tackles Elli gently. Then Beau comes over and lifts me off the ground. He presses his lips to mine and I pull away. "Nope." I grin and run away. I don't know where I'm going but I guess it's on the ground because I lose my footing and land face first in the sand. I laugh in hysterics and BEau falls down beside me.

  "Didn't want you to feel left out, so I came after you." He smiles and I stick my tongue out stubbornly, and laugh. "Everything is funny tonight, isn't it?" He laughs with me, and I laugh harder when he puts his hands to my face. "Calm down, I wanna kiss you!" I laugh even harder than before and roll over away from him.

  "Sorry! I can't." I laugh to myself, and roll back over. He leans down and kisses me on the lips. I immediately shut out the rest of the world. He pulls away and just looks at me. I can't think of anythign to say. So I smile.

  "Is it too early to say I love you?" I slap him lightly.

  "Yes." I laugh and get up, starting to walk towards Jai and Elli. Jai gets up and waves Beau over to him as he walks away from Elli a bit.

  "Jai wants me!" He says and starts to walk faster away from me.

  "I want you!" I yell after and he turns back around. "Just kidding- go away." I laugh and he flips me off. "Love you!!" I yell and then smack myself. I sit down in the sand and Elli'sright in front of me. She sits down.

  "You and Beau together?" She asks and I nod. She makes an inhuman sound, like a squeal of some sort. "Oh my gosh! So happy for you!" I see Jai and Beau coming up behind her. And smile at them. "What?" She asks and turns around. Jai leaps at her and lifts her off the gorund. "Oh, hi." She smiles at him. He starts running for the water and I realsie what;s going on. "Jai! Don't you dare!" She screams and I see that Beau isn't in my sight. Oh no. I hear a huge splash and screaming. "Jai I'm gonna kill you!" My heart skips a beat in a bad way. Where's Beau? I feel hands around my waist and then I'm over Beau's shoulder.

  I kick and scream. "Beau if you throw me in the water, I am taking you with me. It's the middle of the night!" I yell at him and punch his back. "Beau!" I whine. I see the water under his feet. "Beau!!" I scream.

  "Lila, calm down." He says and then I'm in the air. I slam my eyes shut. Water fills my ears and nose, and I hit the bottom. The sand feels like mud and the water is freezing cold despite the hot summer night. I poke my head above the surface and Beau is closer to the shore. "Hello out there!" He waves.

  "Beau, I'm going to kill you!" I yell, then feel a hand at my ankle, and scream at the top of my lungs, I look own but it's too dark to see. The hand lets go and Jai pokes his head above the surface. "Jai!" I scream and slap him.

  He laughs, and then I feel arms around my waist. I turn and Beau's there. I punch him in the stomach and then realise he's pretty much dry except for above his waist. I push him and he falls back, but manages to grab my wrist before he goes under. I fall in face first but get a breath first. I find his face under water and press my lips to his. I pull away and surface. I walk towards the sand. My clothes are soaked, so I hope he enjoys a wet car. I feel the same arms around my waist and turn around. Beau is soaked. "You're so going to strip down before you get in my car." I freeze.

  "Excuse me?" I ask. He shakes his head, laughing and motions for me to follow him, I see Elli is with Jai and they're both shivering. That's when I realise, I am too, and so is Beau. "Sorry for pushing you." He laughs.

  "Don't apologise," he says, popping his trunk and taking out 4 over sized sweaters. "Find a spot to strip." He tosses me a sweater and I blush, running off to find somewhere. When everyone is finished changing, and in the sweaters we get in the car and Beau drives me home.

  "You should stay tonight, Elli. It's late." She shrugs.

  "Okay. I'm borrowing clothes though." I laugh, and nod.

  "My house is here." I point to it, and Beau pulls into the driveway. I put my hand on the handle, and turn to kiss Beau. He's right there and he kisses me for a long time. "Goodnight." I whisper.

  "Sleep tight." He smiles and I get out of his car, starstruck.

  "Do my laundry!" I yell at him. I see him laugh, but don't hear it. I smile as I wlakin my house, Elli by my side.
