Kate's POV
After a few hours of being stuck in the car, on the way back to the bus in New York City, we were almost there. Throughout the whole car ride Lauren and I drove Ally up a wall with our singing constantly and games. She joined in on the singing but not the games. Finally we ran out of things to sing and road games and just sat silently. Not an awkward uncomfortable silence, but a safe nice silence. Well that is until Lauren woke up. I know it makes her sound like a child but we are both tired and worn out even though we weren't driving. We were tired and cranky.
"Are we there yet?" Lauren whined
"No, we should be there in like 10 minutes though." Ally said laughing
"Ugh fine. Hey Kate?" Lauren asked
"Yes?" I answered
"Can I have a sip of your water please? I'm not diseased." Lauren begged
"Yeah and even if you were, I wouldn't care." I answered passing my water bottle back to her.
We finally arrived at the bus. Ally went over to the temporary driver and handed him back the keys to the van after we unloaded my stuff.
"Next time I sit in the front." Lauren joked playfully shoving me
"We'll see about that Jauregui." I said laughing and trying to regain my balance.
We walked onto the bus and Ally told me to leave my stuff in the front lounge/ kitchen area for now. I walked back to the back lounge where all the girls were sitting down on there phones.
"Kate you back!" Camila exclaimed getting up and tackling me with a hug.
"Woah, Mila easy before you break the girl." Normani said as Camila let go and patted me on the head.
"I'm glad your here and safe." Normani said pulling me in for a much gentler hug.
"Girl, I was so worried about where they stuck you. I'm glad your back dawg." Dinah said hugging me more like squeezing the life out of me.
"Dinah your gonna kill her." Lauren said laughing
Dinah let go of me and I took a breath in, which caused the girls to laugh.
"So why don't we order something for a celebratory dinner." Ally said
"PIZZA!!!!!" Camila screamed
"How about we let Kate pick, since we are celebrating her." Ally said and Camila pouted
"I'm good with pizza." I said shyly and saw Camila doing a little victory dance
"Are you sure? Don't let her fool you, there's more behind that pout. She's devious." Lauren said earning a glare from Camila.
"Yes, I'm positive Lo." I said cheerfully
After they ordered the pizza, Dinah set up a movie and of course it had to be a horror one. I don't mind horror but for some reason the SAW movies always get to me and that's what she put in. When the pizza man came, Dinah went to go get and I knew she was up to something. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and all of the sudden the door swung open and Dinah yelled.
"Booo!" she screamed laughing hysterically.
I almost peed myself. I saw Ally jump. Lauren cursed, I guess that's her thing when she gets scared. Normani squealed and of course Camila let out a scream that sounded like she was being murdered.
"Diiiinnnnaaaahhhh." Camila whined
"That wasn't funny." Normani said
"I'm gonna get you back when you least expect it." Lauren said
"I thought that you were the pizza guy and he killed you or something." Ally said. Then they all looked at me, I guess waiting for my reaction.
"I almost peed myself. That was a good one D-Mac." I said
"See at least someone appreciates my pranking wisdom and talent. I'll teach you all you need to know Kate, don't worry." Dinah said smiling
"No Dinah, we have enough with one prankster. You will not teach my daughter any of that. Because with you two it will be the dream team from hell." Ally said laughing.
I was shocked she referred to me as her daughter. I forgot that I was actually adopted. I just looked at her with adoration. She is technically my mom now. She's my family.
"Let's go eat!" Normani exclaimed jumping up to go to the kitchen, interrupting my thoughts.
We all walked to the kitchen, more like ran because we were starving. They ordered 3 pies. We might have been able to get away with 2 pies if Camila didn't take like half of one of the pies.
"Woah, Mila the foods not running away." Dinah said earning a glare from Camila
"Camila, slow down your gonna get sick." Lauren said
"Don't tell me what to do." Camila said dryly. There is definitely something going on with them.
"Okay then, so how was the drive back?" Normani asked
"It was good. Kate and Lauren are not people you want to be stuck in the car with. Between Kate's car dancing and Lauren's road songs and then they sang together. They also like to play a game called who can distract or annoy the driver more." Ally said which caused Lauren and I to crack up laughing. We both high fived.
"Who won that game?" Camila said
"Lauren won,for now. Kate will probably learn what annoys me, sooner or later." Ally said laughing
"Yup and she'll learn how to prank, thanks to me." Dinah said
"Yass. Dinah, teach me your skills." I said in a weird voice which causing Dinah to give me a thumbs up and the rest of the girls to laugh at me.
Once we all finished eating till we were stuffed. We all went back into the back room and cuddled together and watched the rest of the movie. It was like one big family, and I loved it.
