03 | Nelina

"I- you know, my breath smells horrid" Melina lied.

"Open up your mouth" Nick said.

Melina rolled her eyes opening her mouth.

"Damn your breath smells terrible" He coughed.

"No it doesn't!"

"See, and there you go, Melina the liar, thank you very much" He bowed as soon as they left the capsule.

"You don't have to lie to me" Nick said.

"If we're gonna be in a fake relationship you have to have some trust in our relationship" They walked down the road deciding what they should do next.

There was a bit of silence, neither of them wanting to break it.

"I'm confused" Nick said, "how have you never had your first kiss".

"And here we go" Melina rolled her eyes.

"I'm serious, like, your gorgeous and I just assumed that you would have already experienced it" Nick explained.

"You think I'm gorgeous?"

"W-Well you are a model so-""no no no, you think I'm gorgeous, I'm flattered" She smiled.

"..if you don't want to kiss in this relationship it's fine by the way, I'm sure we can like fake it some way" Nicks soft voice said.

He had a nice tone to his voice that Melina admired. His Jersey accent was interesting to her.

"It's fine, like you said a kiss isn't that big of a deal"

"Wait but that's not what I meant, I mean like you know when you've already had it with that special someone..that's the time your always gonna remember, you always gonna look back and think about that person but if it's any of the others, they're just as special but not as special as the first one, you know" Melina was taken back how deep this conversation turned into.

"I understand" Melina nodded.

After a bit Nick got a message from his phone.

"Your not gonna get that?"

Nick looked over at Melina then down at his phone, "Nah it's not important".

While walking down the street Nick saw one person he didn't expect at all. He grab Melina's arm and tugged her inside of a photo booth. Both of their noses almost touching.

"Uh Nick.."

"Look a uh photo booth, let's take some pictures" He smiled awkwardly putting in a couple of quarters to start the machine.

They first took a normal smiling picture then a silly one then one where they were about to kiss, funny because they're in a fake relationship, then another where Melina was kissing his cheek. The same thing she did on the Ferris Wheel.

The photos came out and two slips came out of the same four pictures. She handed one of the to Nick and he put it in his pocket while Melina put it in her purse.

Nick looked around making sure that one person he didn't want to see was gone. Luckily they weren't around anymore and Melina and Nick continued their conversation.

The rest of the day was filled with laughs and interesting conversations and of course messages coming from Nicks phone.

They ended that day eating some ice cream as they walked back to the apartment. They practically became best friends that night.

Nick took her to the door of her apartment and he stopped to talk to her before she went in.

"I..actually had a good time today" Nick looked at Melina, he noticed for the first time how beautiful her eyes looked, they weren't Hazel like his but like a dark brown jewel the border black making her eyes looked incredible to him.

"So did I" She smiled which lightened up her eyes.

They both stood there in silence not really knowing what to do, were they gonna hug each other good bye? Shake hands? They ended up doing neither because Kristen had startled both of them.

"Did you two love birds have fun?" She practically yelled in Melina's ear.

"Yeah we had a lot of fun" Melina turned around to face her.

Kristen wiggled her eyebrows up and down teasing Melina. She rolled her eyes walking into the apartment and kicked out Kristen, "You two have a good night" she merely said before shutting the door and locking it.

Ring Ring

Melina's phone buzzed from her purse.

"Hello?"

She answered the phone hearing a screaming Eleanor.

"You and Nick Mara? You've been crushing on that kid since you've seen him on that one TV show!" Eleanor said into the phone, my eardrums were being tortured.

"I was not crushing on him!" Melina spoke into the phone.

"Stop lying to yourself, you got over him in high school but I guess you truly didn't huh. I like this, Nelina, that's a cute ship name" Melina laughed at her best friends comments.

"Maybe you can hook me up with one of his friends, the one with curly hair is pretty attractive, honestly all of them are"She joked.

"I'll see what I can do El, But Nelina isn't real okay"

"What do you mean? There's literally articles talking all about you two, the new couple in Hollywood" Eleanor seemed confused, she never understood anything about business.

"It's for publicity, we're doing this all for show"

"You've got to be kidding me" I could already see her frown, "doesn't matter I still ship you two together".

"Your actually ridiculous" Melina laughed, "I have to get my beauty sleep El, I have a shoot tomorrow".

She yawned slightly and said goodbye to her friend. She changed her wardrobe putting on some pajamas and slipped into bed.

Melina laid there on her bed and thinking about everything. If any news network found out about this whole scandal was fake it would hurt our reputation.

We'd be seen as lying manipulators. This whole plan was a risky idea but that's why we have Kristen to make sure everything goes well. Hopefully things go well.
