I walked into the classroom as normal and got my stuff out for the day to bring to my seat. Today I had my IPad luckily. I set my stuff at my seat and plopped down next to Skylar. "Hey so yesterday about the Animal Jam thing, was that you in my den?" Skylar asked, putting folders in her desk. "Oh, yeah that was me." I replied. "Oh okay good because I thought that you were some weird guy in my den. I was freaking out and I told my mom that there was a weird dude in my den and she told me to block you." Skylar sounded slightly gulity. Laughing in response, I patted Skylar on the head. "Guess I'm a child preditor now.." Skylar quickly objected. "No you aren't!" She whined."I'm passing around a laminated sheet of paper with little pawn things. Sort the pawns by color but don't put them on the sheet." Mr Smith said as he passed out the said items.
With the sheet and pawns we did some weird math lesson. It wasn't from any book (from what I knew) and it was slightly confusing. Mr Smith let some kids drop out of the lesson to do other things as long as they were quiet.
About 20 sheet-related math questions later, Mr Smith said that we were basically working with positive and negative numbers the whole time. "Ooh uh, nope." I packed the pawns back into their bag and moved their bag and the sheet to the corner of the desk. "What?" Skylar looked over, confused. "Negatives and positives? As if! I can't do that, I'm not THAT good a math." I replied, somewhat dejected. It was fun at first but hearing what I was actually doing... Big old nope!
While Skylar (and the remaining others) did the lesson, I got out a sheet of paper and pencil. I ended up making a comic, sorta. It was about how 2 eagles, mother and son, were being hunted by a dragon, Pythor. Their father was already killed by them and the son in the story, Sam, had some special gem under his chest feathers that the bad guys wanted. It was cringey and terribly drawn but does that make a difference? I was trying to pass time till lunch!
Lunch ended as soon as it started. Skylar and I were walking around the black-top, just talking about everyday stuff. "Hey, why don't we race across the paws?" Skylar asked, pointing to the blue pawprints that outlined the black-top. You had to walk those if you were being bad, which j haven't had happen yet. "Skylar I do not race. And if I did you'd beat me." I stated with a this is super obvious but you somehow don't understand it tone. "Please? We'll start and end by the benches." Skylar trotted over to the benches. These benches were where everyone threw their lunch boxes. Skylar and I did as well. "Fine, one lap though!" I got into a ready position as Skylar lined up with me, readying herself as well.
"3.."
"2.."
"1!!"
Skylar bolted off as I struggled to accelerate. I was NOT good at running at all. Finally gaining some speed I ran as fast as I could and refused to stop no matter how tired or how much I hated this. I looked to see where Skylar was. SHE WAS HALF WAY?! WE JUST STARTED AND IM ONLY 1/5! Knowing I'd never catch up no matter how hard I tried, I jogged back to the start.
I was greeted with a panting Skylar. "Hey... No fair! You... You didn't run!" Skylar breathed, sitting down on the bench. "Well there ain't no way I was gonna win, I even said I don't run." I patted Skylar on the back. "Hey why don't we go to the field? Relax for a bit.." Skylar got up and headed for the mound in the field. Ya know, I love when people suggest something and even though the need of my opinion is implyed I still don't get to give it.
Skylar sat down and flopped onto her back. I did the same. "Hey, ya see the sun peeking through the clouds over there? It's covered enough so that you can directly look at it." Skylar pointed out. "Ah yeah you're right. Sorta reminds me of heaven." I got a mhm of approval from Skylar. "So what time do you get home?" Skylar asked. "About 3." "Well maybe you wanna get onto Animal Jam at 3? Cause I get home about 2:30-ish." Skylar asked. "Yeah, sounds good."
Once I got home I logged onto Animal Jam. Skylar and I had a mini-game challenge to make up for the race. Skylar beat me at connect 4, cake stack, and checkers. I beat Skylar at log jammer, jamma derby, and design it. Those were the only games we had time to play since Skylar had taekuando.
I feel like there's a reason I was sat by Skylar. Not to just be her friend but, something more... Most of my friends move but I doubt Skylar will. She has no signs of showing it. Most kids who are about to move tell everyone. I've lost most friends from moving, even lost a crush once. But it's how some people are and they're just kids, they don't have control of wether they move or not. I bet some kids who move are putting on an act and secretly hate moving...
