The school day flew by. It consisted of mostly Skylar and I planned what we needed at my place today and how were going to do this. Since it was my first time doing a science fair, I relied on Skylar for a guide since she's done alot of these sorts of things.

Skylar got a pass to get on my bus to ride to my house. Her mom would bring the stuff (graduated cylinders etc).

"Oh god. Welp we're here!" Skylar mused, scanning the entranceway of my house. "Yup! So what do we do while we wait?" I asked Skylar. "Well let's put our notebooks on the table and I guess we just wait for my mom so..." Skylar set her bag down and took out a notebook, throwing it onto the dining room table. I did the same.

"WHAT?! IT'S HARD TO HEAR YOU SKYLAR!" I shouted. Skylar and I decided to play Animal Jam. The one issue was my sister refused to give her laptop to Skylar to play, so we put Skylar on our upstairs computer which was not the best. Skylar typed "just come up here mega nutella!" In the Animal Jam chat. I got up and raced up the stairs to Skylar. "Yeah?" I panted slightly, entering the room Skylar was in. "Here you can design my animal for me. If it's good I'll keep it." Skylar got out of the small office chair, letting me take her place while she watched, standing next to me.

"OH NOOOOO!" Skylar whined. I gave her wolf a snazzy look alright! It had a black tiara, a pink purse, and pumpkin shoes (it was October and they started selling Halloween stuff in the shop). "This is... NO!" Skylar pushed me out of the chair and took over. Skylar gasped, getting out of the seat and bolting downstairs. "Stay there!" Skylar shouted as she continued down the stairs.

I took the seat back and made her wolf dance. It still had the look I put on it. I moved over to where my wolf was in the den. Darn you  Skylar! I typed "HEY!!!" In the chat and ran downstairs.

"SKYLAR MY CUTE WOLFY YOU'VE RUINED HIM!" I complained, trying to pull her out if the downstairs office chair. "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET MEGA NUTELLA!" Skylar scoffed back, pulling herself away from me. Mega Nutella was what Skylar called me over Animal Jam since the chat was extremely ristricted. Skylar was just called Sky since Animal Jam allowed you to say that. "FIX IT!" I spat, pointing to the wolf with a turkey hat, black purse, and pumpkin shoes on. Yeah that's what she did to my wolf. I had alot of the same items as her. "NOT UNTIL YOU FIX MINE!" Skylar laughed back. "Hey Megan time to get started!" My Mom butted in. I heard Skylar's Mom set things on the dining room table.

"Okay we need 20 milliliters in the graduated cylinder." Skylar said, handing me the graduated cylinder to fill. We both walked over to the sink. I held the tube under the faucet and started the water. I accidentally turned the water of full blast, causing  the graduated cylinder to overflow and spew everywhere, making a huge mess. "I SAID 20, NOT 1000!" Skylar said through laughter, turning off the sink. Both of us a laughing mess, I dumped the graduated cylinder and tried again. This time I did it right and we brought it back over to the dining room table with everything else.

"Okay, stand back." My Mom said, clamping the small cup of Gatorade in-between salad clampers. "So I'll hold it over the burner and... Yeah." My Mom turned on the side burner of the stove that we set up in the center of the garage (no cars were on this side).

About a minute passed.

Suddenly, my Mom lost grip on the clampers.

"Oh crap! Okay turning off the burner!" My Mom quickly turned off the burner. All of us had jumped back when she dropped it into the side burner. "Is it gonna catch on fire?" I asked. "MEGAN WHAT THE HECK OF COURSE NOT!" Skylar playfully punched my arm.

We did the same thing (without the dropping part) for 5 other samples.

"Hey doesn't this place smell like cotton candy?" I asked, sniffing the air. "Heh, yeah it sorta does." Skylar sniffed the air to. "Okay back inside girls!" My Mom lead us to the door back inside.

Luckily nothing caught on fire in the garage.

"Okay we're done! Now maybe another day we can do the poster." My Mom said.

Skylar stayed for a while and we decided on playing ping pong, since we were had a ping pong table in the basement.

"OOOOH!!" Skylar shouted as the ping pong ball bounced off the wall and I whacked it (really hard actually) back to Skylar, who jumped out of the way imediately. "Oh god... Can you get that?" I gave a nervous laugh and we continued the game.

We never really kept score. The game went from natural ping pong to crazy ping pong. I ended up hitting Skylar 3 times! She hit me once. We also lost a ball to the pipeline above (we were in a basement) and couldn't find it to get it down.

We bid our goodbyes for the night.

"Okay, clean everything up." My Mom ordered. "Then you're serving dinner and going straight to bed, got it?" My Mom added to the list. She walked over to the TV room and places herself on the couch to watch some movie or what-not.

First place was the basement. I searched the whole area for all the balls we lost (expect the pipeline ball). I think I found all of them, I hope at least. I put the ping pong table away and reorganized everything back to normal.

I straighted out the dining room table tablecloth and wiped the counter by the sink to get rid of our watery mess.

The I started making dinner.

Tonight I was doing spaghetti.

My Mom spun the spaghetti around the fork, stuffing it into her mouth. "Mmm, could be better..." She said, swallowing. "You know what? I decided you don't eat tonight." My Mom mused, her gaze trailing back to the movie. Without another word I went upstairs.

I slammed my room door closed, grabbing the compass from my nightstand. The compass wasn't a navigation compass, it was more of a draw the perfect circle compass. I stretched it out so the point end was sticking out with the pencil part in my hand. Slowly but surely, I dragged the sharp end across my arm, blood peeking out as I did. I did this all down my arm, with a large line down the center.

So what?! Yeah self harm but whatever!! Not like anyone would notice...

I rubbed blood off the sharp end of the compass, putting it back and tracing the cuts on my arm. It hurt yes, but this was a moment of pain not joy. I enjoyed cutting actually. Not like addict but it felt, refreshing to me. Helping me escape my reality.

To live in my own reality.

With my own rules.

And my own ways of life.

Yeah, that sounded like only a dream...
