Chapter 4

"How did you beat me at chess?!" I whined, shoving my stuff into my desk and slumping into the seat. "Well technically we tied overall.." Skylar pointed out. True we did... But I always thought I was good at checkers! "And it was checkers Megan, not chess." Skylar remarked as the morning bell rang and the announcements took over.

"Hey Skylar what if Corla gets a sequal?" I whispered to Skylar. No way was I Esparking. "hmmm I like that idea.." Skylar smirked, opening the presentation app and making a new document. "What do we call it?" I asked, still in a whisper. "Coral 2. And what should it be about?" Skylar whispered back. "He uh... Finds his long lost brother!" I exclaimed but still hushed with a whisper. "Okay you make the brother and I'll set up the plot." And with that, Skylar and I got to work.

What names for a brother... I could do Jakey or... Maybe Zack? No.. Man what could I do that could make sense with Coral? OH! I got it! Turtle! I started drawing out Turtle. His eyes were green and he had some sorta top rift fur. Yeah this wasn't the best art...

"You got him?" Skylar looked over to my screen. "Oh god. The name?" "Turtle." I smiled back. "Eh I don't really feel that... Maybe Thistle?" Skylar suggested. "Yeah sounds alot better." I admitted. "Okay so the plot is Coral is kidnapped by a witch and shrunk till he's tiny. While he's tiny he adventures to try to get normal sized. On his adventure he meets his brother and Thistle will help Coral defeat the witch." Skylar explained, drawing out one of the slides. "I like that!" I whisper-shouted.

"Alright y'all go to lunch." Mr Smith said. Everyone ran out if the class but Skylar and I took out time. Somewhat at least.

"To the mound?" Skylar asked. I nodded my head yes and lead us twords the field.

"Weird how we come here everyday. Like we just... Chill..." Skylar said with a calm tone as we cloud-gazed. I'll admit I did favor stars over clouds but you can't see those balls of gas during the day. "Well you never know when you'll never get to see this again and the year feels to have gone by super fast.." I replied. "Hey so I had this idea, maybe we could do the science fair together?" Skylar asked. "Oh yeah that sounds fun! When do we wanna start working along with all the other things needed?" I asked. "Maybe if we work stuff out tomorrow and meet at your place tomorrow?" Skylar suggested. "Yeah, sounds like a plan."

I was sorta dozing off as Mr Smith did the lesson. We were doing some sort of math lesson and it got boring. It was interesting at first but then it went downhill. "Hmm how about er, Megan!" Mr Smith saying my name brought be back to reality. "Hm what? Oh uh...." I looked at the board. Nothing written made ANY sense. "Megan ya look like a deer in headlights." Mr Smith remarked. "21?" I guessed. I had no idea what to say. "Megan, is 7 times 5 21?" Mr Smith gave me a look of unamusement. Me Smith picked up a marker and wrote COMMON SENSE! On the board. Everyone could see it since he wrote it really large. Of course the class errupted with laughter. I expected them too react like that. Skylar even laughed. "Common sense Megan, common sense. You obviously don't know what that is." Mr Smith stated, pointing to the common sense written on the board. "Ooh well then its--." Mr Smith cut me off. "Nope, you don't have the common sense to answer. Skylar you've got common sense I'd hope." Mr smith pointed to Skylar. "35." Skylar glanced over to me with a somewhat devilish grin on her face. "Ah ya see? Skylar could give you a common sense lesson Megan!" Mr Smith erased the large common sense written on the board and put in the answer, 35.

On Animal Jam that day Skylar and I talked about the whole common sense deal. Skylar said that I should increase my common sense even though I explained the real situation a million times. She also introduced me to Discord. Discord was basically a chat site. Unlike Animal Jam, this didn't have chat ristrictions. That's what we mainly chatted on. It was like messenger or something. I could text Skylar whenever now. We also designated a time to get online, 3pm every day. Skylar also said that we mom was cool with coming over to my place tomorrow, my mom was cool with it to! Now I was hyped all right.
