Present Time

Weeks.

Weeks went by till a month had passed

Seasons changing faster than anyone had imagined

Spring where the blossoms flowered

All the way to the cold unforgiving winter

And now back

A year had passed....

Until finally it was like everything started again.

In that year the girl who once had her heartbroken at homecoming had found a job, a small amount of money being given to her but enough so that she could aid her parents in her college tuition. It was true she was still only in eleventh grade..but she decided to work

And work as hard as she ever could

The boy who left just as broken hearted continued focusing on his studies as he had always done.

But also in that year....the boy and the girl grew apart.

The girl's parents had fought and fought until the divorce was finally filed.

The girl had to move a few blocks away and now went to a different high school, if anything she rarely came back to her previous school.

Whenever the boy would ask her to she visited bust she didn't know about his parent's losing their jobs

and he didn't know about her parents divorce.

They were like perfect strangers yet the closest of friends all the same.

It was strange how that worked out....

Maybe it was because neither wanted the other to worry....

                                            <...................................<

As they sat next to each other in his living room, drinking hot chocolate just like they had done when they were small children

he looked at her laughing and thought

"You really are my everything"

....but as he looked at her deep brown eyes....he couldn't manage to tell her.

His cheeks tinted red and he looked away a little

She looked at his shy self and wanted to place a hand beneath his chin, turning his eyes back to meet hers "Let me see you smile once more" she wanted to say....but couldn't

They both sat there drinking their warm drinks with the TV blazing in front of them, yet the one thing they were conscious of out of all of the buzz from the TV...the microwave cooking some food for their dinner....the boy's brother playing video games in the neighboring room....the thunder violently crashing outside their house

Out of everything

the one thing they were conscious of

was each other.
