Chapter 24

"Junhoe, wake up already."

Jinhwan held Junhoe's arm and kept tugging it so he would wake up. It was already 4 in the afternoon, and Junhoe's mom was already downstairs calling their names.

Junhoe groaned as he moved his body to face Jinhwan. His eyes fluttered open, and his eyebrows climbed up his face.

"Wake up. Your mom called us to go downstairs." Jinhwan said, while he sat down beside Junhoe's body and looked down at his face with his hand on the resting boy's cheek.

Junhoe pushed the blanket off of the two and sat up the bed as slow as a sloth. He scratched his neck, along with his face scrunched up, showing major signs of being a lazy bed head.

"What time is it?"

"It's 4:30. Let's get up now please. I don't wanna spend the rest of my day in this bed."

Junhoe groaned as he slowly dragged his legs off the bed and stood up. He grabbed Jinhwan's hand and pulled him away from the bed as well.

The taller boy raised his arms up in the air and stretched them out while the rest of his body curled back as he yawned. Jinhwan looked at him blankly before he walked over to the latter and hugged him tightly. Junhoe hugged Jinhwan back and rubbed his back with his palm.

"What do you wanna do? We can go out tonight if you want." Junhoe asked, giving the other a kiss on the head.

Jinhwan shrugged. "Anything's fine. I just would like to be with you."

Jinhwan's sweet words drew a smile on the younger's face like he was an artist. Junhoe tightened his grip on Jinhwan's body. "Me too."

After brushing their teeth and fixing their hair, Jinhwan and Junhoe dug through their unopened luggage and pulled out some comfy clothes for the two of them to change into.

Junhoe walked down the stairs first since Jinhwan was still changing. He took the last step down the stairs and was greeted by Mandu, who was standing still and looking up at him.

Junhoe took Mandu and carried him in his arms. "Hey bud, liking the place?"

His mom then came out of the kitchen while wiping a plate with a towel. "Yep, he sure does."

"That dog is special. It seems like it enjoys being around new people, don't you think?" Mrs. Koo added.

Junhoe faintly smiled at her and nodded. He sat down on the couch with Mandu, and grabbed the remote to turn the tv on.

Mrs. Koo then walked out of the kitchen and into the living room to sit down on the couch beside Junhoe. His mom sat there without saying anything for a moment. But then, she turned to look at her son and finally spoke.

"You know what Junhoe?"

Junhoe's eyes darted over to his mom and raised an eyebrow.

"Jinhwan is very lucky to have you." She smiled.

"Why is that?" Junhoe asked.

"Because I know how much you care for the people that you love. I've seen it all."

Junhoe chuckled. "It's more like I'm the lucky one to have him. He's perfect mom. More than enough."

"I'm just happy for you honey. I'm happy that you, who is so full of love, finally has someone to love and protect."

"Thanks mom." Junhoe and his mom smiled at each other.

"By the way, when's dad coming home?"

"Maybe next week. I'm not sure." Mrs. Koo shrugged.
