Part Eight

The door opens and I look up. The soldiers from before walk in with none other than Arashi. He sees me and looks shocked. "Well looks like you remember her. Why is that?" Kureto asks. Arashi tenses up. "I was just shocked to see a vampire sir." He says. Lier. Kureto walks over to him. "You are dismissed." He tells the soldiers. They leave, closing the door behind them. Kureto narrows his eyes. "You are lying Arashi. Tell me the truth. How do you know this girl?" He demands. "Fine. My two sons had taken her in as a baby. We raised her until the virus hit. They where killed but she lived. I left and came here to be able to survive." He says. "And who is her parents?" He asks. Arashi doesn't answer. Kureto attacks him and knocks him against the wall. "Answer me?" He orders. Arashi looks up and grits his teeth. "Hoshi Tokuda was her mother's name. That is before she died from birth complications." He says. Kureto goes to him and jerks him up. "You had reported that both Hoshi and the child died. You lied to me." He says. Arashi smiles. "Well she was a weak child. Why would I let you know she was alive when I hoped the vampires would take her and kill her?" He says. Kureto tosses him across the room. "You realize you have messed with not just the Hīragi family but nearly got the Tokuda family killed? You have betrayed the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. For that you are under arrest." He says. My eyes widen in shock. "Not only for betraying us but for abusing a member of a high family as well." He adds. "Wait abusing?" Shinoa says. I look down and rub my arm. "Lock me away. I don't really care. Unlike you I'm not going to side with a vampire." He says. "She is only a vampire because of your stupid actions." Kureto says. He laughs. "Guren get the soldiers and tell them to take him to the prison." Kureto orders. The door opens and soon I hear Arashi being taken away. "What did you mean by abusing?" Yuu asks. "That is up to Kasumi to answer." Kureto says. I don't say anything and keep my head down. "Kasumi what did he mean? What happened?" Mitsuba asks. I grit my teeth. "Him and his two boys raised me until the virus. Only they would beat me. The day the virus happened I was glad to finally not be hit over and over." I say. Mika rubs my back and I bury my head against him. "I'm sorry Kasumi. We shouldn't have asked." Shinoa says. I wipe my eyes and look up at her. "It is okay Shinoa." I say. "It is late. You all should head to your quarters. Mika, Kasumi you will stay wherever Guren tells you." Kureto says. We all leave and I relax. So I am actually the daughter of a high family. I can't believe it. All this time my birth family held a high status. Not only does that make me have a high status here but I am a Noble in the vampires as well. "Okay Kasumi, Mika you two will come with me. Shinoa, you guys go to your quarters." Guren says. "Bye Mika, Kasumi. See you later." Shinoa says. We all say our byes and they leave. Guren leads us through the city to a building. "If you need anything I will be in this room." He says. He points to a door and we nod. He leads us down a hall and to a door. "Mika you will stay here." He says. "Okay. Kasumi come on." He says. He opens the door and I go to follow him. "You have your own room." Guren says. My eyes widen. "Wait what?" I ask. He nods and leads me to another door. "This is your room." He says. "Okay. Thank you Guren." I say. He leaves and I walk into the room. It is not to big but not to small. I sigh and lay on the single size bed. I relax and close my eyes. It doesn't take too long for me to fall asleep.
Four weeks later
I am a lot stronger now. I can use a sword as well as a bow. My sword is like other swords used by vampires. It gains power by drinking my blood. My bow is a cursed weapon, it has a demon inside it. Guren has been training me to use my sword property and Yoichi is teaching me to use my bow. We have not gone back to defeat the other nine progenitors yet. Kureto said we will whenever Mika and I are stronger. Guren said that I am strong enough to fight them but Kureto still thinks I can improve some. I am actually on my way now to test my strength. Kureto wants me to meet him at the training ring. I am a bit worried. As I walk into the training ring I see a lot of the army here. My family as well. Kureto walks over to me. "What's going on?" I ask worried. "I am going to test your strength." He says. "Why are they here?" I ask confused. "To see just how much you have came since you came here." He says. I nod. "Oh okay. So I'm not in trouble right?" I ask. "No you are not." He says. I nod and he walks away. "Let's see how well you can fight now. Let's see just how good of a teacher Guren is." He says. He pulls his sword. "So I'm against you?" I ask. He nods. "Not strong enough to fight me?" He asks. "You can do it Kasumi. Remember your training." Guren calls. I look over at him and nod. I turn back to Kureto and he smiles. "Pull your sword Kasumi. I'm not going to go easy on you." He says. I pull my sword and smile. "Okay." I say. He then runs at me. I dodge his attack with my vampire speed. All vampires have quick speed. I quickly counter attack but he blocks it. He shoves me backwards and in order to stop myself from falling I jump and cut a flip. I land on my feet with legs bent. I keep my eyes on him as he comes at me. I dodge his attack and attack as well. Our swords clash and he smiles. "You are a lot stronger. Not many can keep up with me." He says. He then kicks me in the gut. It sends me backwards and I land on my back. I quickly get up only to see his sword in my face. "Not fast enough." He says. Before he can attack I knock his sword away from my face with mine. "Impressive." He says. He attacks and it ends up cutting my side. It hurts but I ignore it. I jump to the side and then run at him. I swing my sword and he dodges. I grit my teeth and we stand here facing each other. "Is that all you have?" He asks. I shake my head. "No. My sword drink my blood." I say. Similar to Mika's sword, the tassel on the end of my sword wraps around my arm. It drinks my blood and the blue blade turns red from my blood. "Well impressive. Can you even wield that power?" He asks. "Thanks to Guren I can." I say. He swings his sword and a dark power comes at me. I swing my sword and cut through it. As I do I barely see him coming in time to dodge. He cuts open my arm and I grit my teeth. I quickly attack and feel my blade dig into his skin. We both jump backwards and he touches his cheek. "Well then. You landed a hit. I am truly impressed Kasumi. Your training is complete." He says. He puts his sword away so I do as well. He walks over and lays his hand on my shoulder. "You are really skilled in fighting. Especially since you have never fought till four weeks ago. You learn quickly and have become strong in a short amount of time." He says. I smile proudly. "Thank you Lieutenant General." I say. He smiles. "Okay listen up!" He yells. He turns to the soldiers. "We move out today. We head to the vampire city and confront their forces there. We end this war today. We are going to destroy their forces and save every single human they have held there." He announces. They all cheer. "Guren get all the squads left from the Moon Demon Company and report to the airport. Demon Army grab your gear and report to the airport as well." He orders. He turns to me. "Are you ready to make them blood suckers pay?" He asks. I nod. "Definitely." I say. He smiles and I follow him. We head towards the airport to get ready to leave. As we get there I see several airplanes ready to leave. Some soldiers are here waiting. "The planes are all ready sir. We await the rest of the army." A soldier says. "Very good." Kureto says. It isn't long before everyone is here and loaded up. I am in a plane with Mika, Shinoa's squad, Guren's squad, Shinya, as well as Kureto and some of the ones who stay with him. "Is everyone prepared for this?" Kureto asks. "I have been for years now." Yuu says. "Same here." Mika says. "We are all ready brother Kureto." Shinoa says. He nods. "Good. Several will die today but we must stay strong. We have to fight hard to protect our comrades." He says. "He is right. Those of us in this plane are not just comrades. We are family. We protect each other. Not just us but also the others. We are the strongest forces for the army. It is our job to protect them." Guren says. We all agree. "Mika, Kasumi you two know the city. You will be on the front lines. Shinoa your squad and Guren's squad will be with them. Shinya and I will be behind you with the army. Do not get yourselves killed." Kureto says. "We will be careful." Mika says. "Yeah we will not let them kill us." I say. He nods. We go silent and I take a deep breath. "Are you okay?" Shinoa asks. "I'm fine." I say. "Last time we was there we was under Krul's control. It is going to be hard on her." Mika says. I look down. "I will be fine. After all we are soldiers and the vampires are our enemies." I say. Mika pats my head and I look up. He smiles and I relax. "You sure you are ready for this? This will be your first battle." He asks. I nod and ball my fist determined. "I finally have a family. I am going to protect them. I don't want to lose any of you." I say. Yuu puts his arm over my shoulder. "Don't worry we are not going anywhere. We don't plan on dying today." He says. I smile happily. "Yuu is right. We are not dying today." Yoichi says. I am glad to have such an amazing family now. "Lieutenant General we are here." The pilot says. We all prepare for landing and then get off the plane. We all gather with the rest of the army. "Whatever you do don't not give up. Fight hard till the end. Several will die today but it will not be in vain. The human race will win this war!" Kureto calls. Everyone cries out in agreement. None of them are afraid to die. I sigh and push away any fear of death. "Mika, Kasumi lead the way. Guren lead the Moon Demon Company with them. The rest of us will follow behind them." Kureto calls. Me and the others all gather. There is a fee others from other squads in the Moon Demon Company joins us. Shinya as well. "Let's do this." Guren says. Me and Mika lead the way to the city from here. "You sure you are ready for this?" Mika asks. "Most definitely. It is time them monsters pay." I say. He smiles. "Good. Let's do this together." He says. I nod and we get to the city wall. "My sword drink my blood and gain strength." Mika says as he pulls his sword. He swings his sword and destroys the wall. I hear an alarm go off singling an attack. We all run inside only to be met with some nobles. "Stop right there!" One says. The dust settles and they look shocked. "Mikaela, Kasumi. What are you doing? We was told Krul and her forces where completely wiped out." One of them says. "Yes they where. We are not going to side with the monsters who ruined our lives. Krul took our lives from us. Turned us into vampires. No more will we stand by while innocent lives are being ruined by you monsters." Mika says. The man growls and pulls his sword. "Traders!" He growls. He attacks but I quickly pull my sword and block the attack. He looks pissed and attacks me. "You little spoiled brat!" He growls. He tries to kill me but I easily kill him instead. The others attack and we fight back. I kill several and soon see Guren and the others joining the fight. "The humans are attacking! Kill them!" Someone yells. More vampires attack. "Kill the vampires!" Guren yells. I kill several more vampires but my sword is knocked from me by a Progenitor. "You little brat. You was like a daughter to the Queen. Now you betray us." He says. I narrow my eyes. "Krul only kept me close to her because she was using me as a test subject. Me and Mika both. We was nothing but lab rats. She turned us into vampires and was testing which one of us would drink from a human first. She will never be a mother to me. She will always be the person who ruined my life. I may be a vampire now but I will always side with the humans. I was born a human so I will never betray them." I say. He laughs and pulls his sword. "It is time for you to die. You have no sword now." He says. I pull my bow and smile. "But I still have my cursed gear." I say. He attacks but I quickly dodge. I pull the string and an arrow forms. "Go Sumairu." I say. An arrow flies at him but he uses his sword to cut it in half. I pull another arrow and let it go. It splits into two and one attacks from behind. It distracts him long enough for me to get my sword. I release a few more arrows and then attack with my sword. "My sword gain strength by drinking my blood." I say. It turns red as if drinks from my arm. Before he can recover from my attack with my bow I attack using my sword. I cut open his chest then stab him in he chest. I kill him and put my bow on my back. He let out a cry as he was killed. "Kasumi watch out!" Yuu calls. I turn only not in time to dodge a vampire coming at me. I attempt to but someone jumps in front of me and blocks the attack. It is one of the Imperial Demon Army soldiers. He kills the vampire and turns to me. "You okay?" He asks. "Yes thank you." I say. He smiles and I quickly kill a vampire that attacks. "Thanks." He says. I nod and we go back to the fight. As I fight I feel my energy lowering. "My sword drink more of my blood and gain more strength." I say. It starts drink more and grows stronger.
