Human But Vampire

Part Ten

Next day
I walk towards the castle to meet with Kureto. The last time I was there was when Krul was alive. As I walk through the building I am tensed up. All the bad awful memories from this place comes back to me. I walk into the thrown room and grit my teeth. "Good you came." Kureto says. "You asked to see me. Why would I not come?" I ask. "Because this is the very room you was turned into a vampire." He says. I look down. "It doesn't matter where it happened. You asked to see me so I came." I say. He walks over. "I would like for you to take your rightful place in the army. The status you got from your parents." He says. My head snaps up and I step backwards. "I can't do that. I'm not a leader. I will just get them all killed." I say. He sighs. "I thought you would say that." He says. He snaps his fingers and Guren walks in. "If you are absolutely sure you do not want that status Guren has an offer for you." He says. "I'm sure." I say. Guren smiles down at me. "How would you like to join me then?" He asks. I tilt my head. "I thought I was already apart of the Moon Demon Company?" I say confused. "I mean as a Ichinose." He says. My eyes widen and I look up. "Wait what?" I ask. He nods. "I have taken a liking to you. I want to adopt you in my family. Will you accept and be my adopted daughter?" He asks. I stand here unable to breath. He wants me to be his daughter. "W.why? I am a vampire." I ask. He sighs and hits me in the side of the head. "That doesn't matter okay. Like I have told you, you are still family. Just because you are a vampire means nothing. You are one of us." He says. Tears fill my eyes. "So what do you say?" He asks. I wipe my eyes and nod. "Okay I would love to." I say. He smiles and rubs my head. "Now I don't want to see you crying again okay." He says. I nod. "Okay Guren." I say. He pulls me into a hug which shocks me. I relax and hug him back. "Okay let's go. We are moving out of the city and back to our city." Guren says. I nod and we all three walk out. We head to the soldiers and Kureto whistles. Everyone turns to us. "We leave once everyone is ready. Make sure no one is left behind. Also make sure the children get safely aboard the planes. The vampires will be loaded into a separate plane then everyone else." He calls. Everyone starts to move around and get everything ready. "Guren, you and Kasumi go and get the vampires." He orders. "Yes Kureto." We say. We turn to walk away. "Oh and we go back to the base we will get the adoption made official." He says. I smile and nod. Guren and I then head to the vampires. As we walk into the make shift prison they look up. "Okay time to go. We are heading out." Guren says. They stand and the soldiers here help us to keep an eye on them. We leads them out but I stay till everyone is out. I make sure none stayed and follow behind. We lead them the the plane they will be on and other soldiers watch. Mainly to make sure none try to attack. They get loaded up and we make sure the loading door is locked tight. Suddenly arms wrap around me and I stumble. I look down to see the little girl from yesterday on the wall. "What's wrong?" I ask. "There is monsters!" She cries. My eyes widen. "Monsters?" I ask. Suddenly soldiers cry out. "You, watch her and keep her safe." I order. The soldier nods and I have her stay with him. Guren and I run towards the screams and see several Horsemen of John. Others come running and I see arrows go flying. "Gekkōin." I say with a smile. I pull my bow and jump onto a wall. I pull back the string and an arrow forms. "Sumairu." I say. I release and several arrows fly towards them. I release another set and another. It takes out several and I put my bow on my back. One of them attacks and I jump high. I cut a flip and pull my sword. I kill the thing and attack another. I kill off several and continue attacking them. I see a soldier about to be eaten and attack. I kill it and block another horsemen from getting him. "Run." I order. He gets up and runs. I kill the thing and attack another. "My sword drink my blood." I say. It gains power as it does and I swing it. A huge gust of power follows from it and kills the remaining horsemen. "Is everyone okay?" Guren calls. I look around to make sure more are not coming. I put my sword up and I breath heavily. "A few soldiers where killed Lieutenant Colonel." A man says. "Damn it!" He growls. "Okay everyone load up! We leave now!" Kureto calls. Mika comes running and pulls me into a hug. "That was amazing Kasumi! You killed so many effortlessly." He says. I scratch my head embarrassed. "Come on you two." Guren says. We follow him and I hear several soldiers talking. They are talking about my actions and how I easy took out so many horsemen. I try to ignore them as I walk. We get to the others to see the little girl with them. She runs to me and hugs me. "You saved us?" She happily says. I smile and rub her back. "Well I can't let a few horsemen of John kill you when we just saved you all from vampires." I say. She smiles happily and I can't help but be happy. "Well you should go back to the other kids and get on the plane." Guren says. She nods and runs off. We board the plane after everyone else is on their planes. Everyone lifts into the air and we set off to the city. I sit backwards in the plane and relax. The vampires where stupid enough to send all the nine Progenitors left to the city we are leaving when Krul and the others where killed. It was a stupid move. Thanks to that they were killed as well. Kureto will be sending out forces tomorrow to retrieve any vampires in other countries. Also to help any humans that are still out there and alive. I am relaxed more then I have ever been. "So when are you going to tell your team?" Kureto asks Guren. "Tell them what?" He asks. "Have you really forgotten that quickly?" Kureto asks. "Oh that. Well I was going to wait till we get to the city. I guess that plan is off now." Guren says. He sounds annoyed. "What are you keeping from us Guren?" Yuu demands. I close my eyes knowing what they are talking about. "Guren is adopting Kasumi as his daughter." Kureto says. "Wait what?" Yuu says. I open my eyes to see everyone is shocked. "You practically raised me but never even called me family till here recently. You are adopting Kasumi." Yuu says. "Shut up your brat." Guren groans. Yuu jumps up and looks angry. "Sit down." Guren orders. "What the hell Guren? You always asked like you hated me." He yells. Guren kicks him in the gut and he falls. He then kicks him in the head. "You are so annoying Yuu. Follow orders you moron. You never listen is one reason I hate you most of the time." He says. Mika helps him back in his seat. "He is right. You never listen." He says. Yuu smacks Mika. "Oh shut up." He groans. We all laugh at him. These people are my family. Like Guren said it doesn't matter that I am a vampire. This is where I belong. These are the people I belong with. Kureto even seems to be happy and not all grumpy. I am truly happy to be here. As we ride we all talk and are happy. It is a good day. It isn't too long before we are landing in the city. As we get off the plane there is cheering. I see several others who didn't come on the mission gathered and cheering. "This is thanks to you Kasumi. You are a hero." Kureto says. He lays a hand on my shoulder and I look up at him. "But I am not the only one who fought. This win is on everyone." I say. He sighs and pats my shoulder. "Guren take your squads and take the prisoners to the jail." He orders. "We are on it." He says. Kureto gives orders to others and I stay with Guren. "Okay Moon Demon Company come on." He calls. The squads gather and we follow him. We go to the plane with the vampires and he puts in the unlock code. It slowly opens and I am ready to pull my bow if needed. "Do as told and no one will die." Guren warns. The vampires slowly start to come out and are surrounded by us in the Moon Demon Company. "Let's go!" Guren calls. We lead the vampires through the city and to a big building. It is the Moon Demon Company jail building. As we walk inside and through the building the vampires seem to not care. We take them to the cells and lock them away. There is about seven in each cell. One of them comes to the cell bars as I go to leave. "We saw you fighting them Horsemen. You are far skilled in fighting then you look." He says. I look over at Guren. "It is all thanks to Guren. He taught me to fight. I owe it to him." I say. "Us vampires lived believing humans where the cruel ones but it is obvious we were. The human leader showed that when he agreed to spare our lives. We owe you our lives." He says. I sigh and go to leave. He grabs my arm. "You are our savior." He says. I pull my arm free and walk away. I rub my head and grit my teeth. I can't believe this. "Are you okay?" Guren asks. I look up and nod. "Yes. I am fine." I say. He looks worried and rubs my head. "Come on. You need to get some rest." He says. "I will be okay." I say. "I wasn't asking. Come on. Your family and I won't let you end up getting yourself hurt from not resting." He says. I smile and nod. "Okay Guren." I say. We both walk out and he has his arm over my shoulder. As we leave the prison I rub my head. I yawn and he laughs. "See you need sleep." He says. I huff and cross my arms. "Shut up." I huff. He laughs and messes my hair all up. We walk through the city to the Moon Demon Company sleeping quarters. As we get to his office he turns to me. He moves his collar and shows his neck. "You haven't had any today. You should drink then rest." He says. I grit my teeth. "But Guren." I say. He lifts my head and smiles. "Go on. I am glad to do it. Go on drink." He says. He pulls me close and I tense up. I then give in and bite down on his neck. He tenses up but then relaxes. I close my eyes and relax as I drink. My thirst disappears and soon I have enough. I let go and leans my head against him. "Before you say it, I don't care. You can hate this all you want to but it doesn't change anything. I will give you my blood for as long as I live." He says. I close my eyes. "Guren, I don't want to have to rely on you for blood. I don't want to have to rely on anyone for blood." I say. He sighs and hugs me. I bury my head against him and tears fill my eyes. "Guren I'm still scared. What if one day I lose control and hurt you or one of the others? I won't be able to go through that. Being a vampire will cause me to hurt the ones I care about." I say. "Don't worry Kasumi it will be okay. I am here to help you to not lose control. I will not let anything bad happen to you." He says. He rubs my back and then leads me to my room. He has me lay down and sits in a chair. "I will stay with you till you fall asleep." He says. I nod and pull my cover up over me. "Thank you Guren. For everything." I say. I wipe my eyes and slowly sleep takes over. "Of course Kasumi. Sleep well." He says. Then everything goes away as I fall asleep.
