Human But Vampire

Part Four

Next day
My chest hurts badly. I have gone half the day without any blood. I am headed to Krul's tent now. As I walk in she looks up from the map. Two other progenitors are here. Ferid is one. "Ah Kasumi I figured you would show up soon." She says. "I'm sorry for interrupting. I will wait outside." I say. I turn to leave but someone grabs my arm. I tense up and look to see one of the progenitors. "Who are you exactly?" He asks. "I am Kasumi." I say. I am scared but I try to stay calm. "She is with me. Don't worry she isn't a problem. Isn't that right Kasumi?" Krul says. "Yes Queen Krul." I say. The man let's me go and nods. He goes back to the table and I walk out. I wait for them to get done. It isn't long before Ferid and the other guy leaves. Krul has me walk in and she smiles. "What is it? Thirsty?" She asks. I look away disappointed in myself. She laughs lightly and I end up biting her arm. She pets my head as I drink. After I drink she tells me to go find Mika. As I leave I think about how to stop this. There has to be another way. I don't want to drink human blood and I hate having to drink Krul's blood. I walk through the city to where Mika and Ferid are posted. As I get close I relax. Suddenly a man steps out in front of me, he is one of the humans. I freeze and tense up. "Well an unarmed vampire. This will be easy." He says. "Oh no." I say. He attacks and I quickly dodge. I run towards Mika's post fearful. Yes I wanted to die but Mika would be upset. I see Ferid and Mika ahead and run faster. "Mika!" I call out. He turns and his eyes widen seeing the guy chasing me. I am grabbed and I struggle. "No please don't hurt me!" I beg. "Kasumi!" Mika calls. He runs this way and attacks. He frees me and kicks the guy. "Are you okay?" He asks. I nod and bury my head against him. "Krul sent me to find you." I say. He nods and suddenly pushes me behind him. I see him blocking an attack from the human. "go  to Ferid." He says. I nod but we are soon surrounded by four others. I tense up and stay close to Mika. "It is time to die vampires." The first guy says. "Would you like some help?" Ferid calls. "No. I can do this on my own." Mika says. He sounds annoyed. The guy attacks and Mika fights back. "Get the girl." The man orders. The others come closer and I get scared. This is why I wish I could have stayed back in the city. "What a same. Looks like I will have to save her. If not Krul will for sure kill me." Ferid says. He goes to attack but there is yelling. "Die vampire!" A boy yells. I turn to see a dark haired boy attacking Mika. "No! Mika!" I call out. Mika turns quickly but they both stop. Nether attacks the other. I am grabbed and I struggle. "Mika help me." I call. He turns and looks worried. "Let her go!" He yells. Suddenly he attacks the ones around me and knocks them all away. He holds me close and I cling to him scared. "Mika what is going on here?" The dark haired boy asks. "Yuu what are you doing? They are vampires, kill them." The first guy says. "No he isn't. Guren he is my brother." The boy, Yuu, says. My eyes widen and I look at Mika. "Mika explain to me why you are siding with them." Yuu demands. Mika looks down and I see hurt in his eyes. "We don't have time for this. Your comrades are going to continue dying." The man, Guren, says. Yuu steps towards us. "Mika why?" He asks. His eyes are filled with tears. "I didn't choose to. After you got away I was dying. They however had a way to keep me from dying." He sadly says. "Ah Mika you are suppose to keep that between us." Ferid says. Mika's grip on me tightens as he gets angry. "Shut up! You have no right to tell me what I can tell my brother." He yells at him. Ferid laughs and walks over to us. "Is that right? How would you like it if Krul decided to punish you? You know what that would be don't you?" He asks. He suddenly pulls me from Mika and I panic. "No stop! Let her go Ferid." Mika pleads. Ferid holds me by my neck. "Now I am not suppose to kill either of you so Krul's test doesn't fail but if you don't follow orders I will have to." He says. I see fear in Mika's eyes as he looks at me. "Don't hurt her." He says. "What is going on here?" Guren asks. before anyone can say anything Krul comes walking up. "Ferid!" She warns. She looks beyond mad. "Ah Krul good timing. Young Mika here has decided to stop doing as told." He says. She narrows her eyes and suddenly attacks. "It appears you have too. I told you to not kill her." She says angry. I fall to the ground coughing for air. "Kasumi." Mika says. I look up only Krul stops him. "Don't even. You are already in trouble." She warns. "What have you done to Mika?" Yuu demands. She turns to him and smiles. "Nice to see you survived Yuichiro. It is a shame you escaped four years ago. I wanted to harness both seraphs for myself. That is why when you tried escaping I turned your dear Mika into a vampire. It was that or let him die. Although he did beg for me to let him die with the rest of your family." She says. Yuu looks even angrier. "You monster!" Yuu yells. He goes to attack but she easily knocks him away. I see blood running down his face. "Yuu!" Mika says worried. He turns to Krul and attacks her. She narrows her eyes and grabs his hand. Pain fills his face as she nearly crushes it. "Remember your place Mika. I control you. You better think twice before attacking me again." she warns. I push myself up and try to help Mika. Only Krul grabs my neck and stops me. "Kasumi I thought I had broken you of your will to fight back." She says. I grit my teeth and look at Mika. "You will never make me be one of your mindless followers." I say. She sighs and looks at me. "I gave you both everything. Not only immortality but protection as well." She says. she kicks Mika and he flies backwards. "Mika!" I call out. I try to go to him but her grip tightens. "You will learn who is in control." Krul says. She bites down on my neck and I grit my teeth. "No stop it. Stop hurting her." Mika pleads. I hear running and yelling. Krul stops drinking and I see other vampires as well the humans. "Queen Krul!" A noble calls. "Do not attack yet." She orders. "What?" He asks. "You heard me." She warns. A slight pain fills my chest and I grit my teeth. I guess it is from where I didn't drink much before coming here. "Mika!" Yuu says worried. I look over to see Mika in more pain. "Oh yeah you both haven't drink much today. Your thirst is probably high." Krul says. Yuu kneels beside Mika and helps him to sit up. "Now is your chance Mika. Drink from a human." Ferid says. Mika narrows his eyes. "Like I have told you, I will not do it. For one Yuu is my family and for two I would rather die then ever drink from a human." He says. Krul sighs and lets my neck go. "Such a shame." She says. The progenitor from the tent walks up. "WHat is going on here Krul?" He asks. She smiles innocently. "Well looks like my secret is out. Mika and Kasumi are only half vampire. They refurse to drink from a human because they both where once human. Only I decided to do a little test and turned them both. It has been a long and annoying four years I tell you that." She says. "What? You turned two humans into vampires?" Guren asks. "That is right!" she proudly says. I look down ashamed. "Why did you do that?" The progenitor asks. "Well she turned Mika because he is of importance. You know about the Hyakuya kids that was suppose to be killed because of the experiments done on them before we took over. Mika is one of them. Krul kept them alive. All of them. That is untill they tried escaping. Then I killed each one except two. Mika and Yūichirō. Only sadly Yūichirō got away." Ferid says. "And the girl?" He asks. "Well she was offered as livestock as a gift but I decided to see if I changed her if she would willingly drink from a human. Unfortunately she is to stubborn and is holding on to the part of her that is still human." Krul says. She forces me to look up and I grit my teeth. "You know they are illegally changed and must be killed correct." The guy says. My eyes widen in fear. I struggle and this only causes Krul to tighten her grip. "Touch Kasumi and you will not live long!" Mika growls. I look to see his eyes hold anger. "Krul you are no longer Queen. Your rein is over. Kill the humans and treaders." He orders. My heart races and I try to free myself. "Mika!" I cry out. All the memories of when I was taken fills my head. The fear from then returns and I start to have trouble breathing. "Damn it. Ferid." Krul says. "I know protect the weakling." He says. He pulls his sword and easily takes out several vampires. "Okay kill them all. It is time to end this war!" Guren yells. The humans come this way but Mika and Yuu get to me and Krul before they do. "Krul let her go. I have to get her out of here." Mika says. She narrows her eyes but let's me go. "Don't think you will be out of trouble. I will take care of this quickly then come find you." She says. Mika pulls me to him and I cling to him. "Come on let's get you out of here." He says. "We will make sure you don't get killed by either side." Yuu says. Mika nods and pulls me with him. We all three take off running. Two girls and two guys join us. "Yuu be careful and don't get killed!" Guren says. "I won't Guren." He calls back. As we run a few vampires attack us. Only Yuu and the others kill them off easily. We get away from the battle field and go into a building. "Yoichi go up high and keep a look out. Warn us if a vampire comes." A girl says. "On it." One boy says. He runs off and up some stairs. Yuu turns to us. "Mika I thought you was dead." He says. He has tears in his eyes and suddenly hugs Mika tightly. I step backwards letting them have some space. My chest is hurting more now and I grit my teeth. I walk over to a wall and lean against it. "What is wrong with her?" The other boy asks. I see Mika look over and then he is by my side. "Kasumi what's wrong?" He asks. I look up at him. "My chest hurts." I say. He grits his teeth and moves his cap. He opens the pouch but the only vial in their is his. "Here have mine." He says. I shake my head. "You need it." I say. I grit my teeth as the pain of not drinking much increases. "Kasumi drink it. It is only going to get worse." He says. I look down but take the vial. I open it and drink. After I am done the pain is slowly fading. I relax and hand it back to him. He puts it away and stands up. I stand up to see the others looking at us. "What was in that?" Yuu asks. Mika sighs and I look down. "Some of Krul's blood." He says. "Why?" He asks. "Because we won't drink from humans. When she changed us we was told to drink from a kid brought in the room. Neither of us would do it. Without blood though we would be in pain and end up becoming a terrible creature. Krul has us drink her blood so that we stay in control." Mika explains. I rub my arm embarrassed. "Oh. What happened if you drink human blood?" One of the girls asks. "We become full vampires and the little bit of human in us is gone. We will be the same but won't age." He says. "Oh." She says. I lean against the wall and close my eyes. I remember Krul's words and tense up. My eyes snap open and I grab Mika's arm. "What's wrong?" He asks. "We are in big trouble aren't we?" I ask. He shakes his head. "No. Everything will be okay." He says. "But Krul said she would come fine us. Mika she will punish us for letting her secret get out." I say. He sighs and rubs my head. "Don't worry Kasumi. Like I have told you before I'll protect you." He says. I relax and nod. "Okay." I say. He smiles and hugs me. "Now I want you to meet my brother Yuu." He says. He turns and I look at him. Yuu smiles brightly and gives a slight wave. "Hey nice to meet you." He says. "You too." I say shyly. He walks over to me and pats my head. "You don't have to be scared of them anymore. With me and Mika here you will be fine. My squad is here and will help keep you safe too." He says. The one girl walks over and crosses her arms. "Your squad? Who is the squad lieutenant?" She asks. He laughs and scratches his head. "Sorry Shinoa. Okay so it is Shinoa's Squad but they will still help protect you." He says. I nod. The girl Shinoa smiles. "I am Shinoa the squad lieutenant." She says. "That is Mitsuba and Kimizuki. The one who went upstairs is Yoichi." She says. "Hey!" Mitsuba says. "We are Yuu's new family." Shinoa says. "New family?" Mika asks. "Oh don't worry. Yuu hasn't replaced you Mika. He only joined the Moon Demon Company to become stronger to avenge his families death. He hasn't forgot about you." Mitsuba says. "Yeah. You are apart of our family too." Shinoa says. Mika's eyes widen. "Wait really?" He asks. "You bet." Yuu say. Mika smiles and I feel happy for him. I trunk and go to walk away. Only Mika grabs my arm. "Where are you going?" He asks. "I was going to let you have time with your family." I say. He pulls my back into the group. "You are my family too so stay." He says. "When did you become family?" Yuu asks. "Not long after you escaped. It was three weeks after that day. She was brought in and Krul was just going to use her as livestock until she decided to turn her. That night I promised to protect her. She has never had a family so I offered to be her family." Mika says. He pulls me to him and I lean against him. "Well welcome to the family." Yuu says happily. He sticks his hand out and my eyes widen. "Really?" I ask. He nods. "Yeah. If you are Mika's family you are our family." He says. I hesitately lift my hand and set it in his. He closes his hand lightly around mine and smiles.
