Human But Vampire

Part Two

Two years later (age: 13)
Mika is waiting for me in the castle. Krul wants to see us. Sadly I have no choice but to go. If I don't I'll be in big trouble. As I walk through the city I see others running around. A few are laughing and playing with their brothers and sisters. I am thirteen now. Mika is fourteen. He is a great brother and I'm glad he is here for me. I get to the castle to see several nobles. I walk past them but one grabs my arm. "You know I still don't know your history. Who are you?" He asks. I tense up and try to pull my arm free. His grip tightens and I grit my teeth. "Let me go." I say. He narrows his eyes. "No. Answer my question." He says. "Leave her alone." Ferid says. I look to see him walking from the door. "Yes Lord Ferid." He says. He let's my wrist go and I rub it. I walk away and head to the door. "Causing trouble are you?" Ferid asks. I look down. "I didn't do anything. I only walked past them." I say. "Well I wonder what Krul would say about this." He says. I tense up worried. Last time I got into trouble she drank from my neck. "Come." He says. He walks inside and I follow like a loyal dog. We get to the thrown room and I keep my head down. "What took so long?" Krul asks. "I found her with a few nobles outside. Looked like she was causing trouble again." Ferid says. I freeze worried. I hear her get up and come towards me. "Is this true Kasumi?" She asks. "N.no. I was coming to see you like told. They stopped me demanding for me to tell them who I am." I say. She sighs. "Kasumi you better not be lying to me." She says. She lightly grabs my cheek and lifts my head. "I am not lying. I swear." I say. She makes a face of disappointment. "Who am I to believe? Lord Ferid, or the girl who hates vampires?" She asks. My breathing is heavy and I am terrified. She leans in close and I tense up. "I think I am going to go with Ferid. After all I have known him longer." She says. My eyes go wide. I try to move but she quickly grabs hold of my arm. "No don't!" Mika says worried. Only Krul bites down on my neck. I tense up and grit my teeth. It hurts so much. As she drinks my blood I am helpless to stop her. She let's me go and I see a bit of blood on the corner of her mouth. "Now the reason I called you and Mika here." She says. She turns and walks to her chair. Mika comes over to me and I look down. "I have these for the two of you." She says. I look up as she grabs some vials of blood. She walks over and hands both of us four a piece. I am confused and look at her. "You will be going with Ferid on a mission to claim a city not far from here. You will be gone three days. You will do as he says or else. And if you try to sneak away you will be in trouble. Also you will not last long on your own without my blood so don't even try it. That is why you have these. Each vial is a day supply of my blood. I gave you four so that you don't run out." She says. I look at the vials and grit my teeth. "When do we leave?" Mika asks. "Right now actually." Ferid says. Mika pats my shoulder. "Want me to carrying them for you? That way you don't break them." He asks. "Thank you Mika." I say. He puts them with his and in a pouch that he puts on his side. "You better be good." Krul warns. "We will." He says. "Okay come on." Ferid says. We follow him. "Wait, Kasumi." Krul calls. I stop and hold my breath. "You stay by Mika or Ferid's side. You can't fight." She says. I frown. "I will." I say. We then walk out. The nobles from before look at us. "Wait don't say them two kids are coming. She doesn't even fight." One says. "They are. Queen Krul's orders." Ferid says. He groans and rolls his eyes. "They will slow us down." He complains. "Let's get going." Ferid says. He leads us all to the airport. Mika stays next to me to protect me from them. I really hate being weak. We get to the plane and get on. I sit beside Mika and this other guy. Not long passes before we lift into the air. No one says a thing as we fly through the air. I lean backwards and close my eyes. As I do all I see is the day I was turned into a vampire two years ago. I hide the pain I feel and don't move. "So why do you think Queen Krul has her going with us?" A guy asks. "Not sure. She is to soft and weak. I'm not even sure if she is a vampire." Another says. "Oh she is a vampire. No doubt about that." A girl says. The guy beside me laughs. "Yeah right. She is just the Queen's little pet. She is most likely just a human." He says. He hits me in the head and I hit up against Mika. "Leave her alone!" He warns. "Or what?" He demands. "Okay no fighting." Ferid says. Everyone goes quiet and Mika puts an arm around me. After a while we land and all get off. "Mika, Kasumi come on." Ferid says. We follow him and others watch witch judgement. "Where are we going?" Mika asks. "You will see." He says. I follow silently behind him, Mika at my side. We go to a building only one of the four horsemen of John shows up. I stop and fear fills my eyes. "Mika." Ferid says. Mika attacks and kills the thing. He comes back over and puts his sword up. I relax and he rubs my head. "Whoa he just killed that thing!" Someone says. I see a few kids and they come this way. "Who are you?" A boy asks. "We are vampires. We are here to take you all to a place safe from them creatures." Ferid says. "Wait vampires?" A girl asks. He nods. She pushes the boy and a little girl behind her. "We have heard about vampires. You are cruel heartless beings." She says. Ferid whines. "Cruel and heartless. Well that just hurt." He whines. I look at them sadly. I wish I could save them. They don't deserve this. They will be used as livestock. "Round up all the children. Take them to the camp site." Ferid orders. Some others come and grab the kids. They are dragged off and I watch helplessly. I want to save them but there is to many vampires and I can't fight. "Oh don't feel bad Kasumi. They will be fine." Ferid says. I look up at him. "They will be livestock. How is that fine?" I ask. He sighs and lays his hand on my head. "You will understand one day after you drink from a human. You will know why we crave human blood." He says. I shake my head. "I won't do it." I say. He sighs and rubs his head. "What was Krul thinking? Having Mika here fighting against this was enough but now you too." He says. He walks away and we follow. He gives orders and the others do as told. He tells Mika and I to go to a building roof and keep look out. As we sit here I relax. "Mika." I say. He looks over at me. "Yes Kasumi?" He asks. "The others don't like me and I'm to weak to defend myself. Why not just let me die?" I ask. His eyes widen. "Don't say that Kasumi. You are family. I would never let you die. It doesn't matter if you can fight or not. I used to be unable to fight too." He says. I lean against him and sigh. "Okay Mika. I won't say that again." I say. He hugs me. "Good." He says.
Two days later
I walk around a corner only to be stopped by a few of the nobles. "Well if it isn't the Queen's little pet." One says. I back up worried. Not good. "Don't back away from me." He says. He grabs my arm and I try to pull away. "So you never answered our question the other day. Who are you?" He asks. "I am a vampire isn't it obvious." I say. He grows angry. "You had not been seen till two years ago. You suddenly showed up and has been kept close to the Seventh Progenitor. Who are you?" He demands. "I'm a no body." I say. He looks pissed more. "You little brat!" He growls. He pulls his sword and goes to attack me. I close my eyes only the sword doesn't hit me. I open my eyes to see Ferid has his sword drawn and blocking the other guy's. "Lord Ferid!" He says shocked. "Now why are you attacking one of our own?" He demands. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me." He begs. "Now why would I do that? You just attacked a fellow vampire. If Queen Krul found out she would be angry. You know she doesn't like us to fight among ourselves." Ferid says. The guy puts his sword up and bows. "I am really sorry Lord Ferid. Please don't tell her. I will not do it again." He says. "Good. Go back and watch the livestock." He orders. They all leave. He turns to my as he puts his sword away. I tense up worried. "I really hope Krul knows what she is doing. You being untrained in fighting is a dangerous thing. You could get yourself and others killed." He says. I look away. "So what if I die. It would be better then being a vampire for the rest of life." I say. He laughs and puts an arm over my shoulder. "You know Krul wants you to stay alive. If you die her little test will be a fail." He says. I grit my teeth and close my eyes. "Don't worry when you get a taste of human blood you will wish you had sooner. You won't be able to get enough either." He says. I pull away from him. "I will not do it. I won't become one of you blood suckers." I say. He laughs and I look at him. "You already are Kasumi. You are one of us even if you don't want to be." He says. I turn and walk away from him. "You can't run from it Kasumi. It is who you are." He calls. I ignore him and walk off. I go to a quiet spot and lean against a building. I slide to the ground and grit my teeth. My chest hurts from where I haven't had any blood today. It is about five or so in the afternoon. It is the longest I have gone without any. I hear some kids but I ignore them. I lean my head backwards and close my eyes. My face is twisted in pain. I would get one of my vials from Mika but he is busy and we don't use them unless the others are not around. There is running but it suddenly stops. I open my eyes to see a little girl and boy. They look at me fearfully. I fall over unable to really move. "What's wrong?" The boy asks. "Don't feel sorry for her. She is a vampire." The girl says. Her words causes me to feel bad. I don't want this. I want to be back human. "Kasumi!" Mika calls worried. I hear him run over and he rolls me onto my back. He looks worried. "M.Mika." I weakly say. He helps me sit up. "What's wrong with her?" The boy asks. "Nothing to worry about." Mika softly says. He sighs and pulls out a vial. "Here." He says. He hands it to me and I drink it. The pain slowly fades and I relax. I look down and the finish the vial. "Kasumi you don't need to do that. When you get thirsty come to me okay." He says. I nod. "I'm sorry." I say. He sighs and rubs my head. "You are vampires. If you get thirsty why not drink from us like the others do?" The girl hatefully asks. I close my eyes sadly. "Because we don't drink from humans. We didn't ask to be vampires. We were forced to be. We will never truly be one of them blood suckers." Mika says. "Wait what? Then you were once a human?" The girl asks. "Yes. I wish I would have died when I was taken. Instead Krul turned me into a vampire." I say sadly. I open my eyes and look at the ground. "Oh. So you aren't bad people then?" The boy asks. "No. I have only two things I am going to do. That is protect Kasumi and get my brother back." Mika says. "Your brother?" The girl asks. "Yes. He escaped years ago. I was almost killed but Krul decided to turn me. He got away before she did. He is out there somewhere and I will find him. Then me, him, and Kasumi will disappear." He says. I look up at him. I hug him tightly. "Well how adorable. Just look at the two of you. I'd say you are as close as family." Ferid says. I gasp and look up to see him coming this way. He stops in front of us. "Where you two about to sneak a drink from humans?" He asks. "Never! Kasumi needed one of the vials Krul made her." Mika says. He sighs. "Well that sucks. It is such a shame you two keep running from who you are. Sometimes I question Krul's motives for doing things." He says. I grit my teeth. "She may have turned us but we are still human. We won't be vampires like you. No matter how much you try to force us we won't drink from a human." Mika says. He laughs and grabs Mika. "Mika you should really watch who you are talking to. Are you forgetting I am a Noble? I could kill you instantly." He says. "Go ahead. I wanted to die with my family when you murdered them." He growls. Ferid tosses him down and he growls. "You will learn kid to not talk to me like that. You are a lower level vampire then I am." He says. He then turns to me. I back up but he easily grabs me. "Do you have anything to say as well?" He asks. I look down not saying anything. I am to scared to really do much. I have always been scared like this. "Good girl. You know what Krul will do if you cause any problems." He says smiling. My eyes widen and my head snaps up. "Please don't tell her. Please don't do it." I beg. He laughs as I beg for him to forget about it. "I will keep it as our little secret." He says. He turns his head and I see him looking at the two terrified kids. "Well you two will be perfect to help with my thirst." He says. He tosses me down and I groan. He goes to them and the girl blocks her brother. "No don't." I call. He ignores me and grabs the girl. He bites her neck and I see blood drip down her neck. Her brother looks terrified. I get up and Mika is pushing himself up as well. "Lord Ferid." A voice calls. He looks up from his meal and sighs. "What is it?" He asks. "We have just got orders from Queen Krul. She said to head back now instead of tomorrow." The man says. "Very well. Take these two back to the other livestock." He orders. He let's the girl go and she stumbles. She looks weaker then before. The man takes them away and Ferid turns to us. "You better learn your place Mika. If you don't you will be in big trouble." He warns.
