Colby's POV
Once we had all kind of settled into the RV and Corey wasn't trying to convince us he wasn't going to jump today, Elton told us we should explore a bit without a camera just to see how pretty New Zealand was. We all agreed and climbed out of the RV since it was located downtown anyway and started to walk around. It was a really beautiful place, the buildings had so many beautiful colors and had lovely plants and drawings in the windows and on their outer walls. It was calm and beautiful but also full of life and people. I smiled and looked around as I laced my fingers with Sams and he jumped slightly before he looked up at me and smiled lightly, resting his head against my shoulder. He had been kinda jumpy since he was back and I didn't know why, but he had also been jumpy when we had first started dating so maybe it had something to do with that, almost like a trust thing. I gently rubbed circles on the back of his hand as we looked at all of the shops and restaurants that were in the town. Elton had pointed out a few places that had some cool looking toys and clothes, but Sams eyes seemed to light up when we passed the massive book store. I forgot how much of an actual nerd he was, but he was my nerd and I loved him for it. We ended up walking to a park with some good Elton had bought us and we sat under a massive tree as we joked and talked.
"I do have one request from this trip, the two of you can't do anything noisy while we're all in the RV" Corey teased with a smirk.
"Well fuck I was gonna purposely screw Sam in front of all of you" I teased back with a fake sigh as Sam blushed a little but laughed.
"Damn that would have been fun" he said looking at me with a pout as Corey fake gaged shaking his head.
"That's just Corey's problem, you guys go ahead and do what you want" Elton said with a wink and we all started laughing hard. It was almost like being back in Kansas with Hannah and Jake, but like 10 times better. I honestly couldn't be happier that Elton had gone through the trouble of bringing Sam to LA just so that I-we-could be happy together. He must have noticed how bad things had been for me and I'm guessing Sam had been venting to him too, I'm honestly so lucky to have a friend that would do something like that for us. After maybe another half hour Elton told us we needed to walk back so we could go to the bridge and so we walked back slowly, still taking in the beautiful things around us.
TIME SKIP TO THE BRIDGE
We got to the bridge and most of us were super excited as we got our gear on...well except Corey. He was asking the worker a million questions and was still trying to convince Elton to let him skip the jump and the shark swim though Elton wasn't having it.
"You only get one pass this entire trip. Oh and here's a bonus, those of you who jump get ice cream, on me" sam and I grinned and clapped while Corey groaned and whined.
"Come on please, I don't want to do this, at all"
"That's fine that just means you have to do everything else on this trip and you don't get ice cream" he said with a smile and all of us,
including Corey who was still trying to make a decision, were geared up and started to walk up stairs. These stairs had metal, cage like walls, where you could actually feel the wind and see how high up we were which probably didn't help Corey at all. Sam kept looking through the bars with the biggest smile on his face as he watched the water and the birds. I watched him with soft eyes happy Corey was between us and Elton. I could hear Elton and Corey talking, Elton clearly trying to convince Corey to stop being such a baby and jump. As we kept walking there was a massive gust of wind and Corey, Elton and I grabbed onto the hand rail, but clearly Sam wasn't paying enough attention and started to fall backwards from the wind. I gasped and let go of the handrail and reached out, catching him with a sigh as Sam squeaked. He looked up at me and smiled softly with a sigh.
