*2 months later*

It was now late July and things have been going well for Jessica. She was now four and a half months pregnant. She and Albert had been spending their afternoons together just talking.

Jessica told her father everything that she went through in the beginning of Ruth's transition. She didn't hold back and told him how she truly felt when Ruth told her her secret and how she felt now. She told him all the anger she had, the heartbreak, confusion and so much more.

Jessica even told Albert about the day she found Ruth in her father's barn with a rifle under her chin, ready to end her life. Jessica told Albert that in that exact moment, she knew how much she still loved Ruth and how she knew she wouldn't be able to survive without her. Although, she still struggled to accept Ruth fully, Jessica still cared for Ruth. All she wanted was for Ruth to stay alive and have her in her life.

Albert listened intently as he heard his daughter's story. He couldn't believe that Ruth almost killed herself. He still didn't understand but, he kept an opened mind now. He could see that Jessica was happy with the person she loves by her side.

Albert and Dorothy would come over for dinner twice a week. They wanted to be there for Jessica and be there through her pregnancy. They were thrilled to be having a new grandchild they could spoil.

During their visits and dinners, Albert and Dorothy got to reintroduce themselves to Ruth. They still called Ruth, Roy, but they were slowly using the right pronouns, with a few slip ups.

Ruth didn't mind because she knew they had to get used to using the proper pronouns and her new name. She was Roy for the last forty eight years, so she knew it would take some time for them to get used to calling her Ruth.

It was July 25th, and it was Wayne and Ashley's wedding.

Their wedding was taking place at Ruth's father's farm. All of Ruth's family would be there and some of Jessica's family.

Ruth's father, Roy Sr.'s health had deteriorated in the past year. He had Alzheimer's and he didn't remember who he was or who his family members were. He rarely had good days and Ruth's mother had to ask for help caring for her husband. But when he did have a good day, he would remember some things and people.

Everyone wanted to have the wedding at the farm so Roy Sr. could be there to witness Wayne's wedding. They had hoped that he would have a good day and be able to participate in the festivities.

Things were in full swing; all the guests were arriving at the farm. Everything was beautifully decorated and the guests were able to sit in their seats and wait for the wedding to start. For now, they all mingled and some caught up in each other's lives since they hadn't seen each other in a while.

Jessica was in Ruth's childhood room getting dressed. Her baby bump had grown in two months, so she bought a dress that flowed over her belly. At first, she didn't want to show her belly but, she was so excited for her baby that she decided not to hide her growing bump.

Once she finished styling her hair which was now past her shoulders, she put on a bit of makeup.

After, she went to check in on Ashley and everyone else.

Everyone greeted her and they couldn't help but gush over her baby bump. Ruth's sisters were also excited to be getting a new niece or nephew.

Ruth was helping her mother get her father ready. Roy Sr. was actually having a good day and he knew what was going on. He knew his grandson Wayne was getting married and he wanted to be there to see it.

Everyone prayed that Roy Sr. would last until after the wedding. They were just so happy that he was remembering who everyone was on this special day.
