Thank you to everyone who is reading my book! I love y'all. I wasn't going to post another chapter until sometime next week but tryouts for my schools volleyball team start on Monday. I don't know when the next time I'll be able to update will be but probably not for about two weeks.
Anyway, Read, Comment, Vote! Please Ignore any grammar or spelling mistakes. I have a friend who edits my writing before i post it but sometimes she makes mistakes also. So... ill stop typing this annoyingly long authors note and let you read my story now. Thank you and wish me luck at tryouts. :)

Chapter 3
Hale’s POV
It was impossible not to smile at the angelic face of the beauty asleep in my arms.
Lucy. Even her name is perfect. I had only known her for a day and already I felt the strong connection with her.
Lucy began to stir in her sleep so I repositioned her in my arms. Looking out the window of one of my packs SUV’s I noticed that we were about a state away from the outskirts of our land.
Lucas turned around from the front seat. He smiled at the sleeping girl in my arms and I growled lowly. No one was allowed to look at my mate that way except me.
Lucas shifted his gaze to me and continued to smile. “Down, boy. I’m just looking.”
“Lower your voice.” The treat was clear enough. If anyone were to wake her up there would be hell to pay.
Lucas nodded, the smile slowly faded from his usually cheerful face. “She’s human.” He whispered so only a werewolf would be able to hear.
I nodded at a loss for words. What could I possibly say to that? She was human. A fragile, beautiful, and defenseless human. I promised to always be there for her but what if I’m not good enough?
When I originally planned to rescue Lucy, I planned to place her in a town far away from the boundaries of my pack to keep her safe from my enemies. “If you truly care for her, you’ll let her go.” My third in command had told me when we returned from our trip,
But I am selfish. I wanted Lucy for myself. Maybe one day I will realize that that was the wrong choice, but it’s better to have loved and have lost then to never have loved at all, right? I honestly did try for that entire month to forget about having a mate but it quickly became clear to me that that was not an option.
Human or not I don’t ever want to live another day without Lucy by my side. Granted, I have only known her a day, but the bond between mates is strong.
“How is it that Lucy is human but you’re not?” I asked Barron. I liked Barron already. He seemed protective for her; Barron is definitely someone I would trust to keep her safe at all cost. I also owe him for helping me out with Ace. I could have killed Ace on my own, but it would have taken longer and more wolves from both packs would have been killed.
“We are adopted. I am not blood related to Lucy, but in legal terms I am her brother.” Barron had yet to look at Lucy and me after our return from our trip to the woods. I smiled just at the thought.
“Where are your parents?” I asked.
“Neither of us know our birth parents but our adoptive parents live in Missouri.” Barron finally turned towards me but when he saw Lucy asleep in my arms he turned around again.
After a few moments of silence Barron spoke up. “You know, I don’t hate you and Lucy together.”
I cracked a grin. “Is that your approval?”
