Lucy's POV

"Hey, sis," Barron walked into the kitchen where I was sitting reading a book I found in Hale's office. It was old and brown with a worn leather cover.
"What's that?" He asked pulling up a seat next to me at the table.
"A book." I answered going back to looking at the text. It was handwritten and after reading the first page I realized it was a history book describing every war between packs.
"Well duh, I have eyes. What is it about and where did you find it?" He made a face, "It smells like mildew."
"It was in Hale's office. It's actually pretty intreating." I went back to looking at it. I was beginning to get really interested in werewolves.... Or shifters.... Whatever.
"Woah! Hale can read?" Barron made a made a sarcastically surprised face.
"Play nice," I said. Talking about Hale was making me miss Hale. He said he'd be home later but had to talk to one of the elders about something.
Before Barron could come up with a response that would probably include a snide remark directed towards Hale, there was a violent banging on the front door.
Barron and I both stood up. "Stay here," he said before walking out.
I rolled my eyes and followed him into the front room. I stayed a few feet back, just in case.
Barron threw open the front doer, eyes glowing, "What?" He demanded when he saw a boy no older than fifteen, maybe, standing at the door.
    "Where's the Alpha?" He asked.
    "Out." Barron replied.
"There's been an attack. Where's the Alpha?" Barron tightened his hands at this new information.
"Well, let's go find your Alpha." He said. The young wolf nodded and they walked out, shutting the door before I reached it. I threw it open and followed them out.
