Chapter 3

The same old chores as yesterday fortunately this time I did the work without tripping nor breaking stuff which is good. After I finished my work, I leaned at the pillar and gaze at the sea. The sun is shining bright yet its not that hot. The sea is sparking like stars and I must say its very pretty to gaze at. I squinted my eyes trying to see if there's any island but there's none. All I see were the sky, sea and the sun. I took a deep breath and exhale. It's oddly satisfying to be here. I felt.. free. No rules. No high expectation from the people around me. This is ten times better than at home even though I have to do chores. I closed my eyes and my mind suddenly remembered captain mikaela from last night.

"Slacking off?" a voice said and I gasped. It was captain. Speak of the devil. "Screw you. I already finished all my work for today and I'm waiting for kimizuki to show me around." I stated and he didn't say anything and stood next to me while staring at the horizon. "Why are you standing next to me?" I asked. "It's my ship so I can stand wherever I want." he stated and I frowned. "Why can't you be a little nice?" I huffed. "I'll try being nicer, if you try being smarter." mika said and I tried to punch him but he quickly gripped my wrist before I could even hit him. I pulled back my arm harshly. "Go to hell." I spat and looked away. "Sure see you there." he replied and walked away from me. That guy always has a comeback whenever I said something.

*At night

Okay I did it. Next time I won't get lost. After kimizuki showed me around in the afternoon. I wondered around by myself and it's actually pretty simple to remember the way. However, he told me not to got near the captain's hallway. He didn't tell me the reason why and just left. Me just being me, I didn't follow his advice and went towards the captain's hallway. I must say the hallway is a bit different. It has plenty of swords and shields hanging on the wall. I gaped at the weapons as I walked my way through the hall until I suddenly I heard voices. It came from a door that slightly opened at the end of the hallway.

I tiptoed towards the door and leaned by back flat on the wall while my head took a peek inside the room. There's the captain, lacus and rene. Captain was sitting while the other two guys standing in front of his table. "It's been years and we still couldn't find the legendary island. This is stressing me out" captain mikaela ran his hand through his silky blond hair with frustration. "Do you want me to find you a prostitute? You know.. to cheer you up." lacus smirked and I almost choke my own saliva. Is this guy for real? I looked at captain's expression and he doesn't seem to like that idea. "Thanks but no thanks. I hate them for wearing too much perfume that reeks. Not to mention their lipgloss, that shit is sticky. There's this one time a woman being persistent to kiss me on the cheek. Let me tell you I have to use a lot of soap to get rid of it. Women are disgusting." he sipped his tea and let out a sighed.

Something is definitely wrong with you Mika." lacus said and the captain rolled his eyes. "Is there is something wrong with me? then why are you dating rene?" he asked and lacus put his hand on his chest as if he's offended. "Rene is an exception." he wrapped his arm around rene's neck and grinned. "Whatever. All I care is to get those legendary treasure. If anyone gets in my way, I'll slaughter every single one of them without mercy. Who cares if they have families at home waiting for their return." captain mikaela clenched his hands into fists while grinning. The fuck this guy is so cruel. Killing people? Is he insane?! anger bubbled inside of me and I slammed the door opened.

"You really don't have a heart huh you fucking jerk! I despise someone like you!" I shouted and the 3 of them were staring at me. "Uwah kiddo you were there this whole time?" lacus walked towards me and as he was about to guide me out of the room, I pushed him aside and slammed my hands on the captain's table. "You're no different than a demon." I hissed and he just stared up at me with his 2 blue orbs then his eyes glanced at the cup on the table. "This is my cup of care... Oh, Would you look at that, it's empty"he said with a deadpan expression while showing me his empty cup. "I hate you!" I ran out of the room.

Lacus p.o.v

"He's kind of remind me of a raging kitten." I shook my head and looked over at mika who was staring down at his empty cup. I must say that yuu kid is lucky because anyone would be killed by now. This is the first time he tolerate with someone other than me and rene. "Can I ask you something?" rene took a step closer at mika's table and mika nodded. "Why did you let him treated you like that? Won't you show him a lesson? Not that I hate him but.." rene waited mika to respond. "I don't even know but there's something about him I can't pin point what makes him so.." mika closed his eyes. "What makes him so what?" I asked him and he told us to leave which rene and I did. We both know well enough when to give him some space.

"Hey rene." I said and he respond me with a 'hm'. "Do you think that kid is what I think he is?" I asked him. "He's what?" he raised his brows and I pouted. "Ah you know. The kid that-" "Someone is at the ship helm" rene said and i looked at his direction. "It's yuu. C'mon." I dragged rene until we finally reached to where the kid was sitting. "You should be sleeping by now you know." I said and sit next to him and he ignored me while rene was standing at the ship helm. "Was he always like that? The captain." yuu brought his knees near his chest rest his chin on his left knee. "Mika? Hm I don't know. When I first met him, he's already been like that. The resentful in his eyes and I was just a cabin boy at that time including rene so we practically grew up together until now." I told him and he seems to be interested to know more which I hold back a smirked because I able to get his attention to listen.

"So he was like that since he was a kid?" he asked curiously. "I don't think so because the look in his eyes back then was so intense that I was so scared to even talk to me. But I heard from the previous captain, he parent were murdered and his house burned down. That's all I can tell you." I said and yuu bit his lip. "He can never find rest until he learn to finally let go of the hatred and hurt that lives in his heart though." yuu said I just shrugged. "You're not in his shoe to judge.." i mumbled. "Can he at least try to be a nice a little?" he asked and I chuckled. "I don't know but this is just my theory.When he makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That's the message he is sending." I said and yuu just stared at me in silence then he suddenly stood. "I should head back to my room."he walked away but then stop and to look at me. "um thanks.." he said and I saw a tint of pink on his cheeks then he ran away.

"Hey rene?" I called out to him. "Yes?" he replied. "Would you get mad at me if I think he's cute-" before I could even finish my sentence, he threw a small knife near my legs. Hahahaa...I forgot not to mess with Rene.
