Chapter 3: The bus ride

School ended quickly after that. He now stood in the never-ending queue for the local bus, which Luffy, and many others impatiently waited for.

The lunch break was kinda awkward after their little conversation but Luffy is glad they didn't bring it up again. It isn't normal for him to have secrets or hide stuff from his friends. But he still hasn't a real answer on the question 'Do I like him'.

'It's weird. I only met the guy today!' Luffy thought 'How could I possibly like him? What's so special about him anyway! Well... maybe the fact that he's handsome.. And he has pretty eyes.. And... Wait hold on!' Luffy slapped his cheeks. People were looking at them with a weird look on their faces but he didn't pay attention to them.

He really had to stop daydreaming about his teacher, goddamnit!

Iuffy then felt his phone vibrate in his pocket so he took it out and glanced at the screen.

Zoronoa: 'txt me if you wanna talk.'

Luffy sighed, knowing very well what Zoro meant. No, he didn't want to talk about it. What's there to even talk about in the first place? He opened the text and replied.

Pirateking: 'There's nothing to talk about... But thanks anyway'

He didn't want to sound rude. Zoro only tried to help, right?

He looked up and saw the bus arrive, it stopped with a jerk and opened its doors. He let the people before him go first and put away his phone. He was the last one to get up so he probably won't have any place to sit anymore. When he entered, the doors behind him closed. The bus sighed and started moving on a slow pace while he looked around for a seat.

Luffy's eyes were wandering around the bus until they stopped on a certain someone.

No. Freaking. Way.

This can't be true.

There, next to the window. The man was sitting alone on a seat for two.

And why was that the only free seat??

Luffy gulped. Was he really planning to go sit next to... his teacher?

Luffy shook his head and looked away. He'd rather just stand. He wouldn't want to bother the guy. He looked like he preferred being alone anyway so...

He looked back at the him. His mind telling him to ignore the man but his legs weren't listening, as he slowly made his way towards the empty seat.

Luffy didn't want to be impolite so he build up his courage and gently tapped his shoulder to get his attention. The man turned around and as soon as their eyes met Luffy was once again lost in them. His beautiful grey eyes were even prettier from up close. They glittered in the sunlight that shone through the windows.

The man raised an eyebrow and Luffy noticed he had been. He could feel his face slowly turning red.

"C-can I sit here?" Gosh, since when did he became so shy?

"Yeah sure." His teacher replied. Damn. Luffy really liked his voice.

He settled himself down and placed his bag pack between his legs on the ground.                        Now there he was. He didn't really think this through, did he?

'What should I do now? Start a conversation? Maybe I should just be quiet, he might find me annoying...' Luffy thought. He glanced up at the guy sitting beside him.

Can't lie, he really is handsome.

"So... you like teaching huh?" Wow, way to start a conversation.

The teacher stared at him for a few seconds before replying. "You're a student of mine?" Luffy nodded so he continued. "What's your name?"

"Luffy... And your name was.. Uh.. Traf.. Tra.. Tora.. Uhm...Torao?"

"It's Trafalgar."

"Uhh.. Traf.. Traffy?" Luffy tried again.

"Trafalgar Law.." He sighed, "Well, we're not in school so it doesn't matter. Just call me whatever you want"

Luffy smiled, his cheeks still flushed and his heart pounding in his chest. "Thanks, Torao!"

"Yeah whatever." He replied dryly. Not knowing why he was still talking to the kid.

Law looked over at the teen. He has tousled black hair, which was thick and looked very soft. His facial features were babyish, big brow eyes and a smooth, flawless skin, except for the scar under his left eye, which made him look a bit more mature.

He wore a simple red shirt combined with some navy blue shorts and a strawhat hanging around his neck.

He must admit, the kid's cute.

"How old are you?" He couldn't be older then 19 Law thought.

"I'm 18... But I'm turning 19 soon!" Luffy replied with a grin on his face.

The conversation slowly came to an end. They sat in silence for the rest of the ride, both not knowing what to say anymore. Luffy noticed he had gotten to his destination so he decided to break the awkward silence. "Well uhm..this is my stop..so..." He grabbed his bag and stood up, getting a hold of one of the handles to keep him from falling.

Law looked at him and gave him a small smile "See you tomorrow Luffy-ya."

He liked how the name rolled off his tongue. It was a unique name and it somehow fitted the boy very well.

Luffy blushed again, seeing Law smile made him feel all warm inside

The bus then stopped with a jerk. The engine sighed, and so did Luffy. He made his way to the doors and got off, thanking the driver. Who smiled at him in return. The bus closed its doors behind him and drove away.

Luffy made his way home while smiling to himself. He grabbed his phone and opened his messages, sending a text to his best friend.

Pirateking: 'I think I'm in love.'
