Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri AKA Aaron's feelings for Aphmau after the break-up. >:) This is BEFORE the break-up but after the Initiation and such.

~

While Aphmau felt bad for leaving Aaron after those countless years being together, a couple or not, she never considered his feelings. His heart was torn, it was broken. The only person he felt feelings for deserted him in his time of need; when he was weak, exposed, stripped of his secrets.

That was when he shared what he was with Aphmau. He was an ultima, a threat to society, a threat to the people he loved. She was one of those people. That was until she tore out his heart and destroyed all hope he had for the world.

The night after Aphmau had another date and returned home late, her parents worried and decided to have a discussion with her.  Sylvanna was very loose with the two of them dating, but Zack disagreed.

"How was your date, mi hija-."

"You were with that damned Lycan again?!"

Her parents spoke at the same time, causing her to shrink down in fear.

"W-What do you mean dad..?"

She peeped, rubbing her arm nervously as she reminisced of her date vaguely. They had decided to go to an arcade that doubled as a diner to take a break from the pressure given from their families onto them. It was plaguing their valuable quality time, so they decided to break away for one night together.

She could still remember the way he laughed when she dominated the punching machine, the way he had trouble completing the retro Pac-Man game, and the look in his eyes when she pecked him on the lips for the first time. It was magical to her, so foreign. To end the night, he even sang to her with his guitar. The blissful thoughts were interrupted by her father's loud demands as she blinked back into reality.

"You were hanging out with your little boy-toy when you could've been training, learning,.. just doing anything useful! Dating this boy has done nothing to benefit us. Why keep it up, then?"

He ranted, crossing his arms and stunning his daughter and wife. At the end of his rant, he was fuming, his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes narrowed, burning right through his daughters naive stare.

"Maybe I keep it up because he's the only thing keeping me sane! He's not pressuring me, not constantly pressing on responsibilities onto me, and not being a cruel father who doesn't give a shit about his own daughter's feelings!"

She fired back, her look similar to her father's. Her naive stare shifted to a dangerously menacing one, one that she'd only give when she was serious. Sylvanna felt her stomach churn as the two fought, escalating the volume as each word was thrown back and forth. Now it was time to intervene.

"Hey! Listen up you two! Zack, stop bringing Aaron up in every conversation! He isn't a problem but a benefit to your daughter's behavior! Look, she is a compassionate, well-behaved young lady whom needs some off-time once in a while, understood?!"

Sylvanna stated, death-staring her husband while Aphmau shrunk back once again. Zack sighed and nodded weakly, gritting his teeth and glaring at his daughter.

"And you, Aphmau! Don't you dare call your father insolent things! He's worked his whole life for you, for us, for the mafia. Without him, we'd be in a very different situation, in which you could never even imagine, understood?"

Sylvanna touched Zack's shoulder, calming him down as she spoke to her daughter. Aphmau frowned and crossed her arms, averting her eye-contact from her parents as she nodded.

"Alright then! That's settled! Honey, go to sleep while I get Aphmau something to drink. Get ready for bed."

Sylvanna instructed Zack whom was still in his suit and tie. He weakly nodded, walking away to change while Aphmau and Sylvanna spoke.

"Look, young love.. it's complicated. I understand that you want more within your relationship with Aaron, but you have to take it slow."

Sylvanna poured out a cup of water for Aphmau and set it in front of her curious daughter, whom took a sip and peeped.

"How did you and dad meet?"

Sylvanna sighed, a big smile on her face as she blissfully remembered the moment she met him.

"We were in the same training academy for fighting. It was a pretty prestigious academy, with rich kids and buff guys flooding the grounds. When I first met Zack, he was unlike the other boys. Most of them were snobby, too confident in their abilities. Not only that, they lacked the potential needed to succeed."

Sylvanna twirled a strand of her hair in her index finger as she imagined her lover's face in the past.

"But anyways, it was like time froze. I stood, waiting to get my opponent for class on the first day, and he was there. His black hair, tan skin, and dark brown eyes made me fall head over heels for him. He was.. a dashing young man."

Sylvanna was practically drooling as she reminisced about her husband again. Aphmau finished her water and looked at her mother in curiosity. It intrigued her that even after years and years, her mother still held that love for her father. She wanted that with Aaron.

"That's.. cool. Mom, you got something on your.."

Aphmau tried not to point at her mother's lovestruck face but it didn't take long for her to get out of her lovesick stare to wipe off her face and laugh a bit.

"Well.. Other than that.. Please consider your father's feelings before you make such brash decisions next time, okay?"

Sylvanna put her hand over her daughter's, a worried expression on her worn face as she watched Aphmau take her hand.

"Of course Mom. Good night."

She nodded at her mother before running off into her room, shutting the door and jumping into her bed, sighing blissfully as she thought about Aaron. His jet black hair, his dark, enticing eyes, and his muscular figure. It made her face flush red as she thought about him more.

"My Irene. I'm turning into my mother..."

Aphmau groaned, putting her forehead in her palm before laying back down to reflect on the date a little bit more. Just as she started to mentally imagine herself back into the date, her eyes began to droop as sleep got to her head rather quickly.
