Everyday that passed after the split was everyday that Aphmau's heart split little by little.  When he left without hesitation, without even a second thought, she felt her empathy with Katelyn's problem as well. She knew Aaron like the back of her hand. She knew Aaron would hate her after she broke up with him. She still wept about it. She couldn't forget him. She wouldn't stop unless she got the closure, the little confirmation that he understood why she did what she did.

She remembered when her father spoke to her about him. He hated the idea of a Lycan being with her. It wasn't good for business. Plus, his father was distasteful of the Lycan Clan. They'd done him wrong once. He swore on his life that if he saw her with him again, he'd cut the funding for the club immediately. Despite her mother's insurance that she'd make sure Zack wouldn't do such a thing, Aphmau broke up with him. It was hard for both of them; Especially because she was still in love with him months later.

She remembered everything they used to do, everything he had ever told her, and how much he meant to her. She remembered the look he gave her when he first saw her. His eyes lit up, her heart skipped a couple of beats. It was a memory she always cherished. It was something she'd never want to forget. She remembered everything while saying those cruel words. "I never loved you."

So while she looked at the case files for the latest Ultima Case, she skimmed over a report from a bystander. "Black hair... Red-tipped ears... A menacing look." He was staying at a motel close to here. It was only a theory though. The bystander was ridiculed for such an extensive imagination. That's what always happened. He'd slip up once every couple of weeks, only sparking little attention, and it'd be forgotten. It was how he wasn't exposed. Yet.

But back to Aphmau and her little hope. She hoped 'confronting' him about Lucinda's plans would be enough of a cover-up for her to leave and see him. Atleast she could say she tried. She could feel a heaviness in her footsteps as she looked for his motel room. If she asked the clerk at the front, they'd ask for her name, call him, and she'd be apprehended like always. So she checked, her weary eyes searching for her one love. She knocked on almost every door, almost every floor, until she stopped at the last one. It was like a cliche. Of course he'd want the very last room.

So she put her hand over the peep-hole and knocked, her hunger and lack of sleep finally getting to her. She felt the door open. seeing his wide eyes as she fell into his arms, her eyes closing and a small smile spreading on her face.

-

She felt someone beside her as she woke up, little sunlight peeking from the window covered with curtains. She felt the familiar warmth beside her, her face covered in shock. "A-aaron." She whispered, looking over his big figure to see if his eyes were closed or not. They were shut, his calm and steady breathing soothing her worries. I didn't hurt him, he didn't hurt me. Good news.

She stood up, the cheap rug making her toes curl in discomfort. She was still in her old clothes, discomfort now waving all over her body. "Oh great..." She mumbled while walking over to see that Aaron had slept away from her the whole night. The familiar guilt was in her chest once again. The guilt was replaced with a heartache as tears started to form in her eyes. She'd never be able to tell him how sorry she was. He'd never be able to tell her how much he missed her.

Aphmau went to the restroom, trying to make herself look presentable so Katelyn and Nana wouldn't be so worried about her when she came back. While cleaning herself up, Aaron found himself in a dreamless sleep. He constantly thought about her ever since the split. He constantly thought about how she'd be without him. Not that it mattered. She was cold to him, as always, ever since they broke apart. The manipulation he was bothered about all the time was her trickery. The facade she implanted into his naive mind; That she actually cared.

So he woke up around the same time Aphmau was in the bathroom, thankful he wouldn't have to see her again. When she shut off the lights of the bathroom and walked back into the room, he closed his eyes, trying his best to pretend to be asleep. She looked at him longingly, wishing to be in his arms again, wishing to be loved again. She wiped her tears as she put on her heels and walked out stopping at the door. Her hand hovered over the handle as she thought about this.

This is your last chance. Are you going to run from him? Are you going to surrender to your father's wishes?

She doubted herself, she knew she wouldn't back down. Not now, not ever. So she turned around, going back to him. She kneeled in-front of his sleeping figure, remembering what she used to do every morning before leaving for business. She kissed his lips, remembering the familiar feeling, and parted. "I never stopped loving you." She whispered in his ear, closing her eyes to prevent any more tears to fall. He felt his heart ache with hers as she left again. She left him with those final words, words he thought he'd never hear.

So he got up from the bed she was laying in, contemplating what happened. He felt his heart beat faster as he relived those words again and again. He felt a little smile spread on his face as he reminisced of her lips against his once again. Meanwhile, when Aphmau returned and was basically interrogated by Katelyn and Nana, she kept that same little smile on her face and cherished the warmth on her lips. She'd finally get the closure so desired. She'd finally be whole.
