Shrek and Spongebob traveled to many villages/kingdoms and talked to many people but he still couldn't find anything to prove that he is worthy to be the king.
He walked for days and days and finally, he found an abandoned building in a middle of nowhere. He knocked on the door 3 times...no answer, so he knocked it 69 times...a moan was heard from the inside. He pushed the door realized that the door is not locked, he walked inside and saw a old man on his couch watching something weird on a weird looking thing. Shrek proceeded to step closer to the old man while Spongebob just stood by the door way looking at the weird thing the old man was watching. Shrek was now right behind the old man, the old man turned around to see Shrek.
The old man surprisingly did not get scared by Shrek's visit nor appearance. The truth is the old man expected Shrek and Spongebob's visit. The old man kindly explained that he was watching gay porn on the thing called "laptop." The two were confused so the old man told them to follow him.
He lead them to a room where there is nothing but another weird looking thing in the middle of the room, it is 40 times larger than the laptop thing. He told them that he is a scientist and he built this time machine to travel into the future, he got the laptop from there and that's also how he knew that Shrek and Spongebob will visit.
Shrek wanted to travel into the future so he can get ideas on how to prove that he will be a great king.
