Aarya stood waiting in her room's balcony staring at the beautiful moonlit sky. Hidden beneath the clouds it was partially visible, spreading its light to the darkest corners of the earth.

Dev was just like that mysterious moon to her. He was so simple and yet so complicated. He was a mystery she wanted to explore but never wanted it to end.
It seemed like ages ago when she couldn't even stand under the same roof as him. He got on her nerves all the Damn time, but now they couldn't spend a moment without each other. She had even started feeling jealous about him, although she didn't admit to it,  her blushed face said it all.

It was a free period, Dev had went to his football practices and so aarya had resorted to reading a book in the library,
with vidushi.
They made their way back to the class after the loud ringing of the bell entered their ears.
"so who's your date for the fall dance? ",  vidushi asked her with an eagerness clearly visible.
" no one",  she gave a nonchalant reply. Aarya knew she was referring about Dev.  She hadn't shut up about them ever since they came back. She had been trying real hard but making vidushi shut up was harder than shutting up a one direction fan about how much they love one direction.

"Oh!  Come on its not like he is my boyfriend  or I like him".

" he is definitely your future boyfriend plus you don't like him..  You really really like him babe".

"that is so not true, I don't",  aarya tried defending herself in vain as they entered their classroom.
" that bitch.. ", aarya said thinking out loud.
Vidushi looked at her shocked,  aarya never sweared . She quickly looked around for the cause of her eruption and found  Anika flirting with Dev. She was one of the fakest girl of their class and a spoiled brat who acted like she was 25 but had the mental stage of an eleven year old.

Before vidhushi could react to this aarya had already stormed off towards Dev .

"...  We could maybe go out to a horror movie together,  but I am scared of it.  You will protect me won't you? "

As Anika 's flirtatious voice entered her ears,  aarya bubbled with anger.

"  Dev? ".

As he looked up he found aarya staring at him with a serious expression.  She was angry,  he could tell but he didn't understand why.  One thing he knew though was that aarya looked Damn cute.

" yeah! ".
" can I talk to you for a moment? ".
Without waiting for a reply she shot a look at Anika that clearly said if-you-ever-came-near-him-again-you-are-dead and dragged Dev outside the class.

" what the fuck was that bitch saying to you", aarya asked him once they were outside.

" Is annie the good girl,  swearing today",  he  mocked her.
"anyways what happened? She seemed nice".
"sure, she is as nice as Dolores umbridge  of Harry Potter ", she replied smacking his shoulder.
" ouch!  What did you do that for",he asked Groaning with pain.
"you deserved that",she replied  laughing. Dev joined her and soon the empty corridor was filled with their laughter. 
Aarya and Dev continued laughing but in the gist of that moment Dev slowly came near her.  He slowly placed his hand on her blushed cheeks.
"aarya? ".
She was too stunned to move so she just nodded her head.

" never let that smile wipe off your face.  That is the most beautiful smile I ever noticed and I will do everything to make it stay there forever".

A beautiful smile now graced aarya's lips which earlier had been engulfed in fumes of jealousy. She opened her mouth again to speak something but vidushi 's timely interruption made the words die on her lips.
She quickly retraced her steps towards vidushi without saying anything to him.

She was too stunned too mesmerized by the beauty of that moment. This happened to her every single time.  Dev could make her heart race in a matter of seconds.  He made her feel wanted and the way no one ever did to her.  She was his princess,  his honeydew, his best friend.  She wasn't ready to admit it but she had feelings for him.  Not the kind which comes and goes but the one that remains etched in your heart forever.

The rememberance of that memory made aarya blush under the moonlit sky.  Another glance at the clock told her it was time, and the long treacherous seconds were finally over.  She quickly made her way towards the backyard.  She felt if she would not hurry up,  this beautiful dream would be over and she would have to wake up.
