Chapter 10

I stood there not knowing what to do. My head spun to the goddess but she was watching with an amused expression. I look at the rest of the hunt and some of them also had tears in their eyes. My head turns down to look at the mop of pitch black hair that's currently pressed to my chest and wetting my shirt.

I gingerly wrap my arms around her and start rubbing Thalia's back. After a while she pulls back enough to look up at me only to start sobbing again and this time the rest of the hunt comes forward and pulls me into a group hug.

Zoë was the first at me and was at my right side while the rest started piling up from them. Every single one of the hunters were now crying. I started to panic. I didn't know how to handle this.

Artemis was now too looking surprised. One of the younger hunters also looked at her and asked.

" Aren't you joining Milady?"

She looked conflicted for a moment before moving to us. But instead of getting on at back the girls made way for her until she stood behind Thalia.

Thalia moved to my left side leaving my front open for the maiden goddess. She blushed and hesitated but another hunter pushed her forward into my chest. She looked away and taintedly wrapped her arms around my waist.

Dumbfounded even more now I looked around not wanting to get killed for touching her. Zoë and Thalia laughed and took my arms and wrapped it around the goddess. The rest of the group closed back up.

I relaxed after a few more minutes and got comfortable with the whole situation. Everyone started pulling back, but I realised that the goddess held on a moment longer. Luckily nobody else noticed.

Then all the girls started apologizing at once.

" Girls."

But hey drowned me out.

" Girls!"

No one has heard me yet.

" GIRLS!!!"

That shut them up pretty quickly.

" Tell me does anyone here still have a problem with me?"

Everyone shook their heads sincerely.

" Does anyone want me to leave?"

Gain they shook their heads.

" Does anyone want to kill me?" and for a third time they shook their heads.

And for the first time since I was here I gave them a genuine smile that reached my eyes.

" Then were fine. Now who wants some dinner? I picked up a few tricks while I was away."

The hunters looked at me shocked.

" What you think just because I'm a boy I didn't know how to cook? You know I've been feeding myself since I've arrived here?"

They looked down a their feet a some muttered another apology and some yeah's. I give a sincere laugh and all of them look up again.

" Girls I already said that we're fine now stop looking at the ground and get to the dining tent while I prepare the food"

Everyone rushed to the tent to get the best spots, until only me and Artemis was left. She came over to me and hesitantly gave my another quick hug. When she pulls away I give her a puzzled look.

" When we talked in my tent I didn't really apologize like I planned to. So well... I just wanted to so that you have done nothing wrong since coming here and I couldn't believe a man existed that is the opposite of everything I teach my hunters. That's also why they couldn't accept it, so it's partially my fault to. I just wanted to say I was wrong about you."
