Chapter 12

The conch horn pierce the night signalling the start of the capture the flag. I smile this is the first one I've ever played and I'm on the hunters team. I'm standing alone at the flag, while all the hunters except Zoe and Thalia are the offensive distraction while the two girl team is going to retrieve the flag.

It didn't take long for a few demigods to show up, but when they saw me they faltered. They then steeled themselves and charged, it didn't take long for me to knock them out. He could sense from the water molecules in the air and the way the winds pushed against the people that Thalia and Zoe are running back with the flag. They quickly cross the boundary and the game was won.

All thoughts of celebration was stopped when a mummy came walking from the big house' direction and stood still in front of me. Green smoke started pooling out if her mouth and enveloped us. An old creepy voice spoke in my head and I could tell the hunters heard it too, but not the campers.

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,

One shall get lost in the land without rain,

The Guardian of Artemis shows the trail,

Guardian and Hunters combined prevail,

The Titan's curse must one withstand,

And a child shall perish by a parent's hand.

Everyone was silent until Chiron spoke, "A prophecy has been issued! All cabin counsellors along with Thalia, Zoe and Percy meet at the war room in 5 minutes. The rest of you off to bed!!"

A few groans were heard, but eventually everyone walked off to the cabins. I shared a look with Zoe and Thalia, they both grabbed my shoulders and I jumped into a shadow and exited in the war room. After a while the rest showed up having had to run here. Chiron showed up behind them. "My boy can you please repeat the prophecy?"

I did so and he looked troubled. "I'm assuming we all know who the goddess in chains is?"

The Stolls waved their hands in the air.

"Hummm Chiron I know-"

"- everyone knows but-"

"-just for arguments sake."

"Can you please tell us who-"

"-the goddess is?"

The way they completed each others sentence was extremely creepy, but the rest just face-palmed. I stood up. " Since I was approached, I will take responsibility and lead this quest."

Clarisse slammed her hand on the table, "Who says you get to decide!?"

I just rolled my eyes. "I don't know....maybe the prophecy since it specifically said ' Guardian of Artemis ' and look who you're talking to "

She sat back down realising how stupid that sounded.

"Ok since this is an all hunters quest Thalia and Zoe will aid me along with Bianca and Atalanta."

Zoe looked at me, "Those two are new recruits. Are you sure it's smart to bring them along?"

"Don't worry I'll ensure their safety, it'll be a good way to prove themselves."

She nodded and left it at that, trusting me to keep my word. It seemed there was something bothering her and she kept glancing at Chiron; I decided to confront her about it later. The meeting was quickly brought to a close after the campers realised that none of their own members were going along. Dionysus gave me a funny look, that I shrugged off, before Chiron told us to get an early night because we were to be on the way early tomorrow morning.
