Chapter 11

( Percy )

The hunt had set up camp at the site of the fight and Artemis had asked me, Thalia and Zoe to join her and Bianca (the older sister from the pair  of demigods we just rescued ) in her personal tent. We already knew what Artemis planned to do. When we entered the tent there were four chairs, all the girls took one while I went and stood behind Artemis' chair.

Over the next hour or so the girls explained to Bianca what the hunt was and how it worked, when they were done they looked at Bianca hesitantly.

" Ok, before I answer I have a few questions. First, you said no males are allowed so why then is he? Second will I ever see my brother again"

Artemis gave me a look and I took that as que to explain.

" I am under direct orders from Lord Zeus to protect and whatch over the hunt."

Zoe and Thalia gave me a playful stare and Zoe was the one to retort.

" As if any of us really need protection. Your just here to put Zeus's mind at ease."

Artemis rolled her eyes " Not this again..."

I walked around Artemis' chair and sat down on Thalia's lap. Artemis looked bemused, Bianca looked shocked and Zoe had a look that says challenge accepted. Suddenly Zoë sprang forward and crashed into me, making the chair Thalia and inadvertently me was sitting on to break into splinters.

All three of us crashed to the floor rolling around Thalia threw a few punches which I dodged and then went past me to hit Zoe in the side of the head. We were rolling around so much, causing Bianca to leap from her chair to avoid the flying limbs.

She looked at us for a moment and turned to Artimis and told her that she accepted the offer to join the hunt. While Artimis and Bianca was busy officially recruiting her me, Zoe and Thalia hadn't stopped once and even managed to make it outside of the tent where it only got more heated cause of the now open space.

Clarisse and Nico ( the younger sibling ) were looking at us in shock, I'm guessing that she already told him how the hunt operated. Luke had momentarily come out of sulking to whatch the fight. And the rest of the hunt well....

The rest of the hunt was making bets to see who would win this round. Artemis emerging from the tent with Bianca in silver garb in tow made us stop.

" Everyone, this morning before coming here Zeus told me to hunt an animal that is very dangerous. I must do this alone. "

Everyone stayed quiet except me.

" Milady why alone ? Shouldn't having the hunters along help make it easier?"

The two demigods from camp half blood and Nico and Bianca were looking at me in shock. Artimis is a goddess, who am I to question her? But the rest of the hunt was quite use to it by now. Artemis didn't even bat a lash.

" Percy, you know how Zeus can get. I have no choice in the matter. Also where I'm to begin my hunt you cannot go. Therefore I will be asking my brother to take you all back to camp half blood."

Only some of the hunters gave soft groans. Since I arrived they have started to tolerate Apollo much much better than before. I have even struck up a relationship with my dad, but not a father and son one more of like a best friends type of relationship. Artemis gave me a look.

" Humm Perc...... We're waiting u know.."

I facepalmed.

" oh right yeah ok gimme a sec."

I look up at the sky and give a taxi can whistle.

" Hey Apollo! Get down here before 15 seconds is up and Zoe will give you a kiss!!! "

Behind me you could hear Zoe mumble under her breath, something about idiotic boys. It took Apollo 8 seconds to get here and when he stepped out of his red Maserati his clothes were smoking.

" Percy that was under 15 seconds, do I get that kiss now?"

" Yeah sure Apollo, just go get it from Zoe, just give me the keys to the sun so long for if you don't come back then at least I can drive us back to camp."

Behind me Zoe cracked her knuckles and the rest of the hunters giggled while Apollo gulped down slowly.

" You know what Perc I think I'm gonna have to take a raincheck on that one."

Zoe smile grew and Thalia burst out laughing. Apollo put his hand on the hood of the Maserati and it changed into a school bus, but not a normal school bus. It was still red and now had spoilers and stickers and it looked overall totally badass. Artemis rolled her eyes along with the rest of the hunt.

" Guess who's driving? "

Apollo then threw me the keys.

" I have a better idea."

I walked over to Thalia and put the keys in her hand.

" Come on I'll help you don't worry."

Thalia suddenly turned pale and sweat was dripping from her forehead.

Artemis gave everyone a once over and then rested her gaze on me, I could have sworn affection shone in her eyes but it was gone before I could have a closer look.

" Girls try not to kill too many males and Percy keep an eye on them, it is your job after all."

She then flashed away, leaving us to go to camp.

Once everyone was on the bus and Thalia behind the steering wheel I started directing her on what to do and when to do what. After we almost burned down a small town on the west side everything started smoothing out.

I stepped out of the bus and the rest of the group followed me out, where some slammed to the ground and kissed the earth. I looked around.

" Guys, that wasn't so bad yeah maybe the landing was a bit rough but it actually worked out."

Everyone turned around to look at the half sunken bus in the lake where it crash landed and turned again to glare at me.

Chiron and the camp met us halfway to camp from the lake.

" Chiron I'm taking the girls to the cabin where afterwards I'll be coming to the big house to attend the counselor meeting we're holding in half an hour to discuss what happened today."

" Very well my boy see you then."

It's been 3 days now and I've gotten nowhere on tracking the monster. I'm currently running through the woods outside a town that's settled on the outskirts of San Francisco. I stop at the edge of a pond to drink some water when suddenly there's movement all around me.

In an instant my bow is out and an arrow notched. I feel a peircing pain at the back of my head and a kick to the back of my legs. Slamming into the dirt I look up only to see a boot flying at my face.
