-------The contractor
"Erin, make sure the back door is locked. The past few nights Kevin hasn't locked things up correctly" Dave told me as he exited the coffee shop locking the front door behind him.
I nodded in confirmation before he was completely out of sight.
Kevin was the new trainee and was put in a predicament where he had to take a lot of responsibility because the last guy quit unexpectedly. Dave was just struggling trying to keep the shop above water with the debt he was in. Dave knew how hard I had been working for the past few weeks so he raised my pay a bit and gave me more hours.
I exited the building from the back and secured the back door like Dave had told me to. I walked down the dimly lit alley and around the side of the building where my car was parked. As I pulled out my keys and was about to open the door I started to feel an indescribable feeling in the pit of my stomach and all at once a hand held my arm tightly but not enough to send pain shooting through my bones or cause any bruising. At that moment my first instinct was to do as I was taught and kick this perverts ass but at that moment he spoke to me in a firm voice.
"Give me the keys to the car, now." The man said to me in a whisper I cannot describe.
"Uh, e-excuse me?" I said a little confused but even angrier than anything.
I wasn't going to allow this gang-banger to take my car that I earned with my hard earned money. Oh hell no, this wasn't going to happen and I sure was going to put up a fight. Just as he opened his mouth to spit a comeback at me we both turned our heads at the screeching sound of wheels coming down the alley. The man looked at me then looked down at my hand that held the keys to my Lincoln Mkz, and yes I am still paying the car note on it with a little help from my dad from time to time. He snatched the keys, yanked open the door and shoved me into the vehicle head first careless that my arm smacked up against the cold window on the passenger's side.
I let out a little yelp as he closed the door behind him and shoved the key in the ignition making the car come to life. He turned to me and said...
"I would buckle up if I were you." In an irritated voice.
He had the audacity to try and steal my car and when he couldn't get away with that he tried to kidnap me. Who the hell is this guy? I turned to try to open the door but he was already speeding out of the parking lot. I turned around and started to panic.
"Look you can have the car, just please let me go." I pleaded.
"Too late for that now." He stated way too calmly for comfort.
I kept noticing him weaving and dodging cars but he also kept looking through the rear view mirror, I followed his gaze and looked behind us and spotted three black BMW's doing the same thing we were doing. He looked over to me and noticed that I was still not wearing my seat belt and said something that I totally didn't comprehend at the moment.
"Hey! I'm talking to you." He spat at me a little too vehemently
"Oh, now you want to talk?!"I questioned him with an eye brow raised
"I told you to put on your seat belt and you totally ignored me." He glanced at me before pointing all his attention back to the road.
"Well maybe you should just drop me off and I won't be your problem anymore." I said a little worried.
I saw how that affected him so and he gripped the steering wheel tighter.
"JUST PUT ON YOU DAMN SEAT BELT!" he snapped at me which made me jump a little
He saw how much that tone scared the crap out of me and loosened the grip on the wheel.
"Listen, if we're going to get out of this alive I need you to listen to me, okay?" he said with a little hint of sincerity.
I nodded looking down at the ground unaware if he saw my notion or not. Apparently he hadn't and asked ounce again.
"Okay?" he asked still calm.
"Okay." I said quite weakly.
Less and less cars were occupying the streets and that started to worry me. The cars following us started to pick up speed and the man noticed it as well. I say as he maneuvered down the streets like a pro which was quite hot on his part but still I had to keep it in my mind that he was the one kidnapping me or so I thought. I noticed the stop light change to red and I stiffened as he picked up speed and ran straight through it. However when the last of the three BMW's behind us ran the light one got hit by a commercial truck and I knew that would be quite ugly for the police to deal with. For a moment I thought I heard him mutter something under the lines of... "Two more to go." But he couldn't have, right? At that moment I got enough guts to ask him a question.
"Who are those guys following us?" I asked wondering why he didn't seem affected by that sudden accident
"No one you ever need to know" he stated without feeling
He suddenly whipped around the corner and I was stunned at how good he looked in the glimmer of the street lights. His muscles tensed and his jaw clenched as his notice the two vehicles still following behind us. He glanced at me suddenly realizing he wasn't alone and caught my intense stare and stared right back at me. I looked in to his eyes and saw something very familiar but at that point he spotted the car approaching on my right and came to a screeching stop which caused the car beside us to crash into a telephone pole knocking it down onto the car.
He looked behind us and saw one more BMW behind us and speed up a bit faster. With no warning he pulled up on the emergency break stick end put the car in reverse and whipped the whole car around in a 360 degree move. He then pushed down the emergency break and rolled down the window I didn't quite know what was happening until he whipped out an Akdal Ghost Tabanca pistol.
I froze as I felt nothing but fear take over me. I knew this weapon all too well as my father owned two of them and used them when he took me to the shooting range every once in a while. He tried to give me a gun once 'for my own safety' but it was just that he felt better that I would have one to use just in case of emergency when I finally moved into my own place when I was 20.
The dangerously mysterious man shot 5 rounds to the car in front of us sending it skidding to the side and rolling over only leading it to burst into flames and shattered car pieces. He used the same maneuver before to get us facing the correct direction and driving forward.
Without thinking I spat at him. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!"
He looked over to me and at that moment I finally noticed that familiarly gorgeous face that had me shell shocked to my core.
