Who Are You?
Erin’s POV
“No, No! You’re supposed to be a business man not a criminal.” I said on the verge of tears.
“Look, I’m not a criminal, Okay. I work for the government and things just got a little complicated that’s all.” He said trying to console me.
“A little complicated my ass. That back there was not a little complicated. You killed people.” I said confused and hurt.
“I’m sorry I brought you into this. I’ll fix it, I promise.” He said coming closer to me.
“No, Nathan, you’re just going to stay as far away from me as possible.” A said hopping out of the car and hailing a cab.
I got into the cab and drove away just as he was going for the door. Ten minutes later I arrived at my apartment building paid the taxi driver and got out of the cab. I climbed the steps to my apartment and when I reached my door it was already unlocked. I walked in my apartment and grabbed the bat from behind the door. The place was completely trashed and all my couches had the inners ripped out. I heard voices down my hall so I crept back there and when I reached my bedroom I spotted 2 men going through my drawers. I stepped up a little and the floor board creaked. I stepped back again and as I saw the shadow of the man approaching the door I swung the bat as hard as I could.
I hit him right in the face and he was out cold. The man on the other side of the room marched over to me and as I thought he was close enough for me to knock out too, I clipped his chin with the bat. He stumbled back with a shocked expression on his face and touched his chin and winced at the pain I had inflicted on him. He approached me again but this time with more rage in him. I swung again but this time he leaned away from the bat and caught it in his left hand and snatched it away from tossing it on the floor. His hand gripped around my throat and he clenched down on his jaw as he pushed me up against my bedroom door. He stepped closer to me, enough for me to hear him whisper.
“I thought we could do this the easy way but I see you want to be complicated. So two can play that game.” He said with a bit of enthusiasm.
He pulled me off the wall by my neck and shoved me back into the door with so much force I started to get a bit dizzy, making it harder to breath with him still strangling me. He tightened his grip on my neck and pulled me off the wall again and pushed me back into a chair that was sitting by my desk. My eyes started to water as he pulled out a pocket knife with a jagged blade and a picture of a skull on the handle of the knife.
“Where is he?” He asked me in a hushed tone pushing the blade into my left cheek bone.
“I. don’t. Know. Who. You’re. Talking. About.” I said, still struggling to breath with my air way constricted by his death like grip.
“Don’t lie to me bitch, I know you know where he is.” He said still containing his calmness but the rage was building in his eyes.
He pushed the blade into my cheek even more, and just when I felt it penetrate through my skin my automatic response was to stop this as soon as possible. Without thinking I lifted my leg between his legs and kicked him where the sun don’t shine with all my might.
