Mother like daughter

Erin’s POV

I paced the room burning holes in the floor from how long I’ve been doing this. All I could do is think of how the woman that gave birth to me could be an assassin, I was a part of an assassin. Well hell I killed someone before so I guess I got the killing gene from my mom right, ha… and yes, unfortunately it is true, I have killed someone before but the sick son of a bitch deserved it no matter what any has to say. I don’t regret it either, if he was alive I would do it again, and again, and aga-

“Hey, you okay? You’ve been pacing for about 45 minutes now.” The guy sitting across from Nathan asked me.

“Me?” I questioned looking around for someone else he was talking about.

“Yea, who the hell else?” he asked looking at me like I was losing my mind which I was, slowly.

“Oh, um, yeah I’m fine. Just thinking that’s all…”

“Oh sorry, I’m Neil.” He said catching my drift. I nodded my head to him and turned to Nathan.

“I’m a little hungry do you mind if I go get something to eat?” I asked he nodded and I went off to the buffet. I grabbed some toast, pancakes, a banana, an omelet, diced potatoes, and a bagel with cream cheese along with some orange juice and milk and headed back to the table. Don’t be so surprised, I grew up with a man my whole life or no one at all.

When I reached the table they were bickering about something along the lines of, ‘sleeping with or victims are not under our job description’, but when I set my tray down with the food on the table the stopped talking and looked at me in amazement with their jaws hung. I started to munch away and they were still staring.

“What?” I asked them after a minute too long of them staring.

“Do you always eat that much?” Neil asked me.

“Yeah… why?” I asked slowly

“I never seen a woman eat so much and stay so thin and fit.” I said looking from me to my tray.

“Well woman usually don’t live with their military father and workout every day, so.” I said and bit down into my bagel.

“No they don’t.” he replied with a smirk. I was going to say something but was interrupted when a woman in a black pant suit tapped on my shoulder.

“I’m sorry to disturb you but Mr. Silver would like the three of you to meet him in five minutes.” She did a quick nod of her head left without our response.

I looked back to the boys and they both had thoughtful looks as they avoided eye contact with me.

“Who’s Mr. Silver?” I asked them.

They darted their eyes up towards me, then looked at each other, then back at me. They looked fearful but not terrified.
