Erin's POV
I helped Jacob into the back seat, started the car, and heading to the house.
"Shouldn't we take him to the hospital?" Derek asked me while looking back at his brother.
"No, I know a few things or two about medical health." I answered glancing at him.
"You do it all don't you?" he asked me sarcastically.
"Not all." I told him.
Once we got there me and Derek carried him into a spare room that's when I noticed all his wounds.
"Derek, go get the first aid kit." I demanded and he complied.
"Jacob, do you know where you are?" I asked him while taking his shirt off and looking at the damage but he seemed to be totally out of it.
He had four or five cuts scattered all over his chest, a swollen wrist, a large cut above his eye brow that I was sure needed stitches, and a busted lip that would needed stitches as well.
"Here." Derek walked in and handed me the first aid kit. He sat by the end of the bed while I pulled up a chair and pulled out the alcohol pads to sterilize his cuts and hooked him up to an IV so he can get fluids into his body. After patching the cuts up I pulled out the suture kit. I put iodine above his eyebrow and put on some gloves. Since he was unconscious I just went ahead and did the stitches without any anesthesia, then I wrapped his wrist in an elastic ACE bandage. When I finished I covered his stitches with a bandage and covered him in a blanket and walked out to leave him and his brother some time alone.
I entered the living room where everyone was waiting.
"He'll be fine. He has a few cuts and he's been knocked around a bit but all in all he will survive." I told everyone.
They all nodded in relief and went to walk around the perimeter for a few hours before bunking down. I went back up the steps and into Jacob's room to keep an eye on him for the rest of the night. When I walked in Derek was no longer on the end of the bed but in a chair and Jacob seemed to be waking up.
"How's he doing?" I asked Derek.
"He seems to be in and out a lot. Is something wrong?" he asked looking at me with worry written all over his face.
"No, he's fine but I should give him something so he can sleep the rest of the night." I informed him.
"Okay." He said while holding his brother's hand.
I took a clean needle out of the bag and filled it with 10cc's of a common sedative. Then I stuck it into his IV and his whole body just seemed to relax from there.
"He's out, but I should keep an eye on him just in case." I said to Derek.
"Okay I'll stay with you." He said leaning back in his chair.
"You should get some sleep it's been a long day." I stated
"You should too but I don't see you doing that, do I?" he asked.
"No." I answered.
"Okay than."
"Okay." I said while sitting on the couch across from the bed.
So we sat there for a few hours in the quiet. I fell asleep sometime in those few hours and woke up around 3 am. I got up and checked Jacob's pulse to make sure he was still fine, which he was, before leaving to check the house. When I knew the house was secure I went back up to the room. When I entered Derek was awake.
"Everything alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, just checking the house." I replied.
"Okay."
