Chapter 14

Hayley's POV

"How are we supposed to figure out where they are?" I asked Alex.

"I don't know but I want to solve the mystery and see Mom and Dad again," Alex said.

"I do too but you know we have to solve this mystery before we see them and you know that," I said back.

"Well you are the one that used to be a Raven," he said to me and I got annoyed.

"That is irrelevant and you know it," I said back to him and we left to go to the police department to see if that was the flash drive that they found.

Daniel, Alex and me got there at the police department and we didn't have to sit long before we came back into Officer Matthews' office.

"We have found this triangular thing, and we don't really know what it is, even the forensics can't seem to find out what it is either," he said to us and Daniel looked at me.

"It is a flash drive. But not a normal one, it has encrypted security so it just looks like a regular piece of metal," I said to him and he was confused.

"It has a message on it but nobody can find anything to play it in," I said back to him and he nodded.

"We have on made specially for encrypted flash drives and messages just like this. Wait here, I need to go get it," he said and he got up and left the room and left us in here.

He came back with it. He plugged in and a video of my mom came up. "Hey Alex and Hayley, hopefully it is you that is listening to this and not anybody else. I need to tell you if you are listening to this then the police found it. Eric, Judy, and Jason took your father and I don't know where, I think they are coming for me next. That is why I don't have much time. Do not trust the detective at the LAPD or Officer Williams at our local police department. They are dangerous." she said and I was stunned.

Judy's POV

"You cannot let them find out that Carter and Ryan are here. If they find that flash drive we are done for," I said to Marcus annoyingly, he goes so slow with business.

"I am trying Judy. Let me go downstairs and see if where we hid the flash drive is still there," he said as he left the room leaving me with Ryan and Carter who were passed out my anesthetics we gave them to keep them asleep.

After a few minutes he came back with a worried look on his face. "What?" I said loudly to him as he was still standing at the door.

"The flash drive is gone,"

Daniel's POV

"Can we take this back to Louis at the Greenhouse?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yes, but make sure it comes back in three days because that is a piece of evidence and a clue for the case," he said and we all nodded and left.

By the time we got back to the Greenhouse it was about 2:00. We went straight to Louis' office once we got there. Alex and Hayley got out of the car and went in and waited inside the main building and waited for me to park the car and come inside.

We went in and we tried to walk as fast as we could to his office. People around probably thought we were crazy. We got there and Hayley knocked on the door. "Hello you three. How are you today?" he asked us and I smiled.

"We are actually not good. We found my mother's encrypted flash drive. The one that I gave Daniel but it went missing and somehow the police got it and there was alot of mix up. Anyways we found a device that can play the video," Hayley said to him and he looked confused.

"So do you know where your mother and father is?" he asked Hayley and Alex.

"No we don't but we have been trying to find them for the past three months but I think we are getting close to solving the mystery," Hayley said to him and he nodded.

Marcus' POV

I didn't like being forced to do stuff, especially illegal stuff like this. I knew that this was wrong, I felt bad for Hayley and Alex, I know they want to see their mother and father again but we got to wait until we finish our mission.

"Have you got that flash drive back?" Judy asked me.

"No, Judy. That is a video of Ryan telling what we are doing," I said as she sighed and paced around the room.

"We are going to get caught aren't we, Marcus?" she asked me almost yelling.

"I don't know, I will try not to get caught," I said back and she sat down at an old desk. It creaked and made a sound we she sat down on it.

Hayley's POV

I skipped practice, I told Daniel I didn't feel good and he told the coach for me. I sat alone at the clubhouse in silence. I just thought about Mom and Dad, I did this a lot. I knew it wasn't healthy just to think about it twenty four hours of the day but I can't help it.

When I woke up I was in my bed, a different place than where I fell asleep. I looked at my phone that was also on the nightstand beside of me. The time was 12:15, I sat up and threw the covers off of me and went into the clubhouse where a few people stood.

"Hey," Daniel said as I waved back from about ten feet away.

"I'm hungry," I said as I walked up to him.

"Do you want to go get lunch?" he asked me as I nodded and he took my hand and led me out the door.

We got outside and took a table under an umbrella because it was sunny. "Don't get up I will order for you. What do you want?" he asked me.

"A number one combo, and Coke to drink," I said as he nodded and left to go get the food.
