"Friendship" ~ Petekey

Ch.9~Pete and Mikey's Epic Bass Skills

The two sat down. They only had enough money to share the popcorn. Each had their own icee, though.

"Have you ever had a brain freeze?" Pete asked Mikey.

Mikey shook his head.

"You're so lame," Pete whispered as the commercials before the movie played in the background. He grabbed his own Icy. "Brain freeze competition right now."

Mikey grabbed his Icy (it was hard to see his expression do to how dark the theater already was). Both had their straws in their mouths.

"Whoever gets a brain freeze first wins," Pete whispered, "3... 2.... 1..."

Both started sucking at their drinks. Pete tried keeping it subtle how slow he was drinking. He just wanted Mikey to have a brain freeze, alright? Almost seconds later, Mikey suddenly stops with a quiet yelp. Pete couldn't help but laugh lightly.

"Crap, I lost," He giggled.

Mikey coughed as he muttered to Pete, "Yay, I won!"

The two laughed together quietly.

"See, you're a fun dude," Pete whispered, "There is no reason that those people left you."

Mikey was still smiling. They both grabbed some popcorn as the movie finally started.

"Have you read the book?" Mikey asked.

"I bingeread the rest of it last night," Pete smiled softly, "Now I'm already starting the fifth book."

"Dude, the sixth book is coming out this summer," Mikey said, "You gotta catch up."

"I will, how bad should the fifth book be?"

"over eight hundred pages."

Pete dropped his icee.

"That was awesome!" Pete shouted on the way out of the theater.

"Eleven out of ten!" Mikey exclaimed.

"No, twenty out of ten," Pete replied, opening the door and letting Mikey out.

The two walked down the street talking all about the movie. All about the plot twists and turns.

"Voldemort was insane!" Mikey commented.

"Tell me about it!" Pete replied, grinning widely.

Maybe at first he regretted his invitation to the movies with Mikey, but he really enjoyed it. For the first time, Pete felt genuinely happy. Not just his normal happy, but like he was never sad or had a bad feeling in his body in the first place. Actual happiness. Happiness you get high off of. 

Just hearing Mikey's comments through out the entire movie and him complain that Pete got the last few popcorn pieces, he enjoyed it. Not to mention the jokes they cracked.

"Wanna head to my house?" Mikey asked.

"Yeah," Pete replied, still giddy.

They walked to Mikey's house. They've walked there multiple times, Pete remembers the way by now.

Once they entered his house, Pete already had an idea in mind.

"So, wanna show me your rocking bass skills?" He smirked.

"No, I'm not good!" Mikey exclaimed.

"Nonsense. Your advice made me actually good at bass," Pete chuckled, "Come on, please? From one bass player to the other."

"Ah, whatever."

Mikey lead Pete to his bedroom. It looked cool. It had posters of bands like Smashing Pumpkins, The Misfits, Iron Maiden, and so much more. He plugged his bass into the amplifier and turned it on.

Pete sat down on the ground and looked up at Mikey. Man, the kid's tall. Mikey nervously played. still, he managed to play almost every note perfectly. Pete stood up, cheering at Mikey.

"Whoo! Look, you've got a standing ovation!" He laughed, clapping and cheering.

"I'm not that good!" Mikey laughed back.

"Liar!" Pete shouted, "I'm best friends with a big liar!"

Mikey laughed, "I'm positive you're better than me."

"Nonsense, hand me the bass," Pete said. They switched places. Mikey sat on the ground while Pete played. He missed a few notes here and there, but did keep in time.

Mikey was clapping and hopping around.

"You're so good!" Mikey exclaimed.

"If I'm good, you're an actual god!" Pete replied, handing back the bass. Mikey blushed slightly as he put his bass back.

"C'mon, let's play Pokemon," Mikey said, leading Pete out to the living room.

I am sorry this chapter sucks, I forgot what the next chapter was about but I can assure you it's better than this one :P
