Eye

We go back to the room, but this time I feel much better. After that kiss, some of my nervousness has vanished. Daemon's hand in mine is comforting and reassuring.
Daemon stops near a table and takes two drinks.
"Just to show that we met him by chance here at the party and didn't plan it."
I nod and take the glass. My throat is dry so I take a sip. It tastes like a mix of tropical fruits and alcohol. Maybe tequila.
We start going towards a group of people. Daemon is walking with nonchalance, as if he has all the time in the world. I try to look as calm as possible.
We reach them and when they notice us, they greet Daemon and look at me questioningly, as if wondering who I am.
"Meet my girlfriend, Valentina" I suck in a breath. He doesn't tell them my real name and I remember he told me that names are important in these worlds. I smile politely trying to memorise my new name Valentina for tonight, to keep up the drama.
Daemon turns towards a man in his mid-thirties. He has light blond hair and a light beard on his face. When I look into his eyes, I have to double-check to make sure I'm seeing correctly. His eyes are violet but with dark black irises which seem moving, as if he's looking at a million places at the same time. It's really unnerving.
"Eye"
"Prince"
They shake each other's hands. Then Eye looks at me and I smile nervously.
"Valentina, what a beautiful name."
"Uh, thanks"
He's still staring at me and I'm trying my best not to think about anything. Obviously my traitorous mind decides it doesn't want to collaborate. My mind starts wandering over dangerous territories so I do the only thing I can think of. I start singing.
"One kiss is all it takes, falling in love with me.." Oh shit. Not the kiss. Not the kiss.
"Don't you give up. Nah, nah, nah. I won't give up. Nah, nah, nah. Let me love you. Let me love youuuu.."
He smiles, amused.
I don't find it funny. He's fucking invading my privacy, right now. Hello?? Someone make him stop, please!
"Can we talk to you in provate?" Daemon asks Eye, trying to take his focus off me.
He looks at Daemon and nods. "Sure"
We go into a corridor and enter the first room on the left. It's a bedroom and we go near the table in the left side of the room. Daemon and me sit at one side while Eye sits in front of us.
"Good idea. Come and talk to me at a party. Guess, I'll have to be more careful in the future."
Daemon smiles " Yeah, it's not easy to find you. I'm sure you already know why we're here."
"You want to know the reason behind the unbalance." Then he looks at me "And you want to find your sister."
Daemon and I nod. I don't wanna know how he knows all this. Must be some creepy power.
"Well you're both looking for the same thing. Her sister is the reason behind the unbalance."
Daemon and I look at each other. We had already thought about it but hearing him say it, confirmed it.
"Why? What does my sister have to do with all this?"
"That's the mystery, isn't it? The whole situation depends on it." He gives a mysterious smile.
What the hell? I asked a simple question, give me a simple answer.
"What do you mean?" Daemon asks him.
"Prince, you know very well that what these worlds have in common is hunger for more power. Why do you think someone would take her if not to use her?"
"But why her? What's her powers?"
"What's her name?"
"Her name is.." I start saying and Daemon stops me, putting a hand on my knee. The look on his face says 'Don't trust him'. .
"I can't tell you about her powers if I don't know her name."
There's something calculating in the Eye's eyes.
Eye's eyes? Ugh! Sounds creepy.
"We don't want to know her powers. Just tell us where she is and who took her."
He looks irritated
"You already know that Prince, don't waste my time with stupid questions."
"Stupid questions? My sister might be in danger and you think these are stupid questions?" I ask, angrily
He looks at me and answers calmly "That's not my problem."
Excuse Me? You bloody fucking son of a..
He stares at me angrily now.
Yeah, you are a dumb-ass. You like listening to other people's thoughts, right? So listen to this. You are a freaking loser. You are a bloody..
"Stop." He says standing up. "How dare you?"
Daemon looks between us, not understanding.
"What did I do?" I ask innocently
"You.." saying a girl insulted him would hurt his ego, so he stays quiet. I give him a bitchy smile and get up.
"Tell us how to get there and more information on Him."
"And why should I do that?"
"Because you want to know my sister's name. Let's make a deal. If you tell me what I want to know, I'll tell you a name."
Daemon looks at me as if I'm stupid but I ignore him. Eye considers my words and after a few seconds agrees "Fine."
I don't know why her name is so important, but I don't care right now.
"Who is He?"
"He's one of the most powerful creatures in the world. But power is never enough, more you have more you want. He's almost as old as me and I'm very old. He is made of darkness and evil. He knows no mercy or pity. He comes from the darkest places in the worlds. His name has been forgotten and his fate has been already sealed."
I shiver hearing his words. I don't understand half of what he's saying but it doesn't sound good.
"Is my sister with him in his world?"
"Yes." I knew it, but I had still hoped he would say no.
"Why did he take her?"
"Because of her powers"
Which he can't tell without her name
"How did he know about her powers?"
Even I didn't know about it and I'm her sister.
"A few words sealed her future a long time ago."
What? Is this man psycho?
I ask more questions before losing my patience.
"Is there a way to go to that world? Can I use the portal to go there?"
"Yes."
"How?"
"You have to use your connection to your sister. No one has ever been able to reach His world but you have the ability to do it. You can locate her and reach her through the portal, thanks to your powers and the bond you share with her. You can go there also without the portal once you have learnt to use your abilities well, but if someone can reach that world with the portal from Earth, then it's you"
Easier said than done
I ask something I haven't been able to admit even to myself.
"Is my sister..alive?"
"Yes."
I take a relieved breath.
"For now."
"What do you mean?"
"Your sister may not have a lot of time. Her energy gets weaker each day."
Oh God. And what does that "energy" part mean?
"Enough of your questions, tell me her name now." He looks at me greedily.
Daemons comes closer to me and puts a hand on my back, as if sensing he needs to protect me.
"Chiara."
Eye furrows and then says " That's not your sister's name."
"No, it isn't"
"We made a deal."
"I said I would tell you a name, not her name. If you weren't paying attention, that's not my fault." I had seen a movie once, in which the heroine used this technique.
Who says movies are useless,huh?
Looks like Daemon is trying not to laugh, he looks at me amused.
Eye, on the other hand, looks furious.
"How dare you? You little insignificant thing! I am old and powerful and you dare fool me."
"Aww, did it hurt your ego? Oops" I just couldn't stop myself. Not because I had a death wish, but because I have always hated people like him. So arrogant they don't even use their brain.
His irises start moving faster and he looks really intimidating now.
Uh, maybe it was better not to provoke him so much, Hec.
Just as I think it, I feel pulled away from the ground and inside that vortex again. When I open my eyes, we're sitting in the Porche.
"Your power is pretty useful in these situations."
"I know."
He starts the engine and gets out of the villa fast. After a few moments he turns towards me.
"I don't know if I want to hit you on the head or kiss you"
I blush "That guy was psycho. He provoked me, how dare he talk about Gaia as if she isn't worth anything. I just lost my temper."
He looks amused and proud and when I look into his eyes I see lust and passion there too. "You look really hot when you take out your claws you know that, Caty?" He says, staring at my lips.
I part my lips and remember the kiss we shared before.
I'm already looking forward to part 2 of that kiss. I should be ashamed of all my thoughts right now but damn, I'm not. This guy has completely fucked up my mind.
He clears his throat. I look into his eyes and notice that I had been staring at his lips the whole time he was saying something.
Shit. That's embarrassing.
"Uh..yeah.. you were saying?"
Trying to pretend like nothing happened. He gives me a smug knowing smile and says "What do you think about what he said?"
This brings me back to reality
"Whoever He is, He's really powerful and dangerous. We need to find out more about him. As for the traveling part, I need to learn to do it. I have to use my powers even though I've never done it before."
"You did it once."
"What? When?"
"You slowed the time in the café the first time we met. A Traveller has the ability to travel through different worlds, where time passes by differently. For example in Eupheral, my world one human day is equal to a week. Each world has a different space and time, that's why your ability is so special. I'm sure with your Dad's abilities, who is an Amplifier, you can control the time much better. Slow it, for example. But that's not your ability as a Wielder. You have some hidden abilities we have to still find out."
Wow. This guy knew more things on my powers than I did.
"So how do I learn to control them? To use them on purpose and not just by chance?"
"I'll help you."
"How?"
"I also have powers, Caty. I can teach you how to control them if you want."
Of course I do.
"Okay. So your world is called Eupheral?" I'm really curious about his world.
"Yes. Eupher means eternal, powerful in my language, so my world is called Eupheral."
"Wow, you guys are really modest, huh?"
I ask sarcastic
He gives me an amused smile "Well, we are powerful. It's just a fact."
"Dick."
He starts laughing.
Then I think about what Eye has said about Gaia and suddenly, get worried.
"We have to hurry up. Who knows how Gaia is right now? Eye said she's getting weaker each day. What are they doing to her?" I ask the last line in a whisper
Daemon takes my hand and squeezes.
"We'll save her. I promise."
And I trusted him. I knew we would. I wouldn't take any other option.

A few moments later, we stop in front of Cor's house. The ride seemed too short this time or maybe I was feeling different than before. We get out and I start going towards the door. Daemon takes me by wrist and pulls me to his chest.
"Not so soon. Where's my good night kiss?"
I bite my lip and stare at his lips.
Damn, I had started going away not to be too tempted or jump on him like an idiot. This guy was becoming my own personal drug. One I knew was dangerous but couldn't live without.
I look into his eyes and he lowers his head.
This time the kiss is slower, as if he wants to study the shape of my lips and each part of my mouth. When the kiss ends, I feel light-headed. Daemon looks at me smiling and says "See you tomorrow"
"Tomorrow" is the only word I can get out of my mouth.
He gets into the car and looks at me one last time before going away.
I stay there a few more moments, enjoying the after effects of that kiss.
Then I slowly make my way towards the door and open it with the spare key not to wake up Cor. Once I enter, I notice Cor standing near the window giving me a huge smile.
"You saw everything, didn't you?"
She nods "Come here, baby. Mama is proud of you."
"Idiot" I start laughing and go give her a hug. I can't stop smiling like a fool.
Tonight I'm happy after a long time..and it's all thanks to that Princeling.
