I waited for you at lunch break,I sat opposite you on the table.
"I don't understand." I said firmly,
You took in a deep breath as if you were prepared,
"My parents are traditional."
"Wha-"
You cut me off,
"Let me finish first."
I zipped my mouth letting you continue, you had that effect on me.
"Culturally, in almost all cultures opposite genders can't be friends, we could be colleagues, classmates, etc"
"And why is that?"
"Because it's believed that there will always be some unwanted feelings and we can't have that."
Oh , I thought, and there I was losing my sanity over some traditions.
I respected you and your parent's opinion but it still all seemed too much to me.
"And the leaving the house thing?"
You chuckled and it was the sweetest sound I'd ever heard.
"No that's just my parents being too overprotective."
I didn't want to scare you,
I didn't want to hurt you,
Not before I got my answers,
Not after I got them,
