Little did I know it'd rain hard afterwards,

Little did I know there would be no phone signal,

Little did I know you'd walk alone for the first time,

Little did I know you'd lose your way back home,

Little did I know you'd help someone in an alleyway,

Little did I know it'd be that dark,

But,

I knew you weren't prepared to walk alone.

I knew you would probably be lost on your first time walking home.

I knew you were too nice.

I knew you were too naive.

I knew you'd help someone even if you were scared.

And most of all,

I knew what lingered in the dark.
