Yuri watched as Natsuki stalked into the clubroom the next day, her movements sluggish as she slammed her bag onto the table and layed her head on the table, covering it with an arm to drown everything else out. She didn't even acknowledge anyone in the room.
She noticed that Natsuki held one of her arms at a funny angle, never daring to move it; when she did she flinched, before looking around, a look of panic on her face. Her neck was suspiciously discoloured, her hair tousled and coming undone. Thinking nothing of it, Yuri focused her attention back on her book.
"Okay, everyone!" Monika exclaimed, flicking a finger in the air. "I have something very important to announce! As I hope you all know, the school festival is a week away, and if we want this club to grow and flourish, then we're going to have to work extremely hard to gain as much attention as we can! Which is why Sayori and I have decided that we're going to work in pairs to prepare something," she flashed Sayori a quick smile, which the other girl sent back cheerfully. "Sayori and I have already agreed that we will be partners, which means that Natsuki and Yuri will work together!"
Natsuki's head snapped up in horror. "Me? Work with Yuri? Are you out of your mind?" she groaned, glaring at Monika.
Monika laughed. "I'm not out of my mind, Natsuki. All I've done is ask you to work with Yuri to make a few things for the festival. I don't see how that qualifies me for being out of my mind," she answered calmly, before fixing Natsuki with a stern expression. "However, let's say, if I killed everyone in the clubroom right now, I'd probably be out of my mind!"
Yuri's attention was distracted as she noticed Sayori lean forward and whisper something in Monika's ear. The president nodded, and Sayori grinned conspiratorially.
"We have a few minutes left until its time to share poems, so you might want to figure out when and where you want to meet!" Sayori declared.
Yuri turned to Natsuki, whose face wore a look of defeat. "So, um, wher-"
"Your house."
"O-okay... What day do you want to come around?"
Natsuki paused for a few seconds, appearing to be gathering her thoughts. "Saturday."
Yuri nodded, thankful that Natsuki was at least cooperating. "Do you have a preference for the time?"
"Any time before 11am fine?" she answered, phrasing it as a question.
"Yeah."
"Don't you need my number as well?"
"Oh, right."
Natsuki handed Yuri her phone, tapping the contacts option so that it displayed her number. Yuri grabbed a pen and hurriedly pulled a slip of paper from her bag and scribbling on it.
The pink-haired girl grabbed her mobile, stuffing it into the front of her bag, before sighing and resting a cheek on the table. "You can go, now," she said monotonously, cautiously placing her arm on the table.
Yuri nodded, going to leave until another thought crossed her mind. "What do you want to make? Because I'll have to get some stuff beforehand so that we're not wasting too much time."
"I'll probably just make cupcakes or something. I'm sure even you have basic baking equipment and ingredients, right?"
"Well, I'm not much of a baker, so I probably don't have that..." Yuri admitted, making Natsuki exhale in frustration.
