One month later: River's POVRiver sits on the examination table. Even though she's short, her legs today seem to go on for miles. The nurse gives me a once over, the goes back to River.
"One night stand slip?" She asks. My jaw clenches.
"Excuse me?" River says in shock.
"Judging my the way you look-" "Don't judge. She's my wife." The nurses eyes widen.
"I apologize." River lays back and lifts her shirt up, exposing her stomach. The during past month, she has grown a small bump. I find myself becoming somehow more protective over her and not wanting her out of my sight. I know that it may seem excessive, but with everything that's been happening, I'm not taking the chances of any harm coming her way.
"See that on the screen?" The nurse says. I was too invested in my thoughts to even notice they began. I live closer to the bed and look at the screen. "Oops, never mind," she says.
I lace my fingers with River's, sensing her anxiety. The nurse shakes her head. "What's wrong?" River asks, squeezing my hand.
"Just having a little trouble finding the baby," she tells us. River looks up at me nervously. I bend down, so I'm head level with her.
"Everything is going to be okay. Take deep breaths," I tell her. The nods, looking into my eyes. "Mimic my breathing".
"There it is." We look back at the screen and look at what she's pointing at. I squint, looking for something. River tilts her head to the side, doing the same as me. "Right here." My eyes widen as I see it.
"Oh my gosh," River gasps. Looking down at her, her smile meets her eyes. "That's our baby."
"That's her."
"Or him," River says. I sigh, grinning.
"Whatever it is, I'm happy."

I close the door behind me and turn to River who is looking at me like she's deep thought. Lately I've been on edge whenever she's thinking too hard, expecting her to say she no longer wants me or to get married.
"Penny for your thoughts," I say, setting the keys on the table. She straightens up her posture and makes her way to me. Her small hands run up my arms and neck. Her green eyes burn into mine.
"Take off your jacket," she orders. I take a small step back and remove the leather from my body. "Shirt."
"I'm usually the one to give the or-"
"Not right now," she interrupts. "You listen to my orders. Remove the shirt." Smirking, I do as told. "Now, kiss me." I bend down and press our lips together. Her hands press against my skin, tracing every defined muscle.

River's POV::
I close the door behind me, the cold air hitting my legs as I walk to his car to get something he left in there. "River," a unfamiliar, yet strangely familiar voice says. I turn around to see a older Hispanic man.
"Do I know you?" I ask, shifting back and forth on my feet. This would be a little better if I was dressed in something other than Vito's shirt. I should have at least threw on some tights.
"Kind of," he says. I step closer back to the door. "I'm not going to hurt you. There's no need to be afraid."
"I don't know you and you know my name, that seems to be enough reason for me." He looks down, tucking his hands into his Dickey Shorts.
"I'm Luis, I just wanted to see you, make sure you were safe. I'll-I'll leave now." He walks pass me, releasing a deep breath. He turns back to me. "Goodbye, Flower." I stay next to the door for a few more seconds before running to the car and getting what I came to get.
Once inside I start to warm up. Vito looks at me from the counter where he opens a water bottle. "What's wrong?" He asks, rushing over to me. It must be obvious that what just hapoened has shaken me.
"I don't know, there was this man outside, he knew my name," I tell him. He sets me down on the couch, keeping me close to him.
"What did he look like?"
"Hispanic, light brown eyes, bit I could be wrong about that. Facial hair around his mouth and chin, broad," I explain to him to the best of my abilities. "And he called me something that seemed oddly familiar."
His body tenses. "What was that?"
"Flower." His eyes dart around the room as if to try and connect dots in his head. "The night I was shot I swear I heard someone call me that, but it's fuzzy. And I feel like I've been called that many tines before," I tell him. He stands, pacing back and forth.
"Fuck," he curses. "This is why I didn't want to bring you into all of this. I don't know if your in danger or not," he says.
"Why wouldn't I be? This man knows my name and knew where to find me."
"That man's name was Luis, he's the leader of the Los Asesinos." My heart stops beating for a split second. "I didn't want to tell you." I stand up, facing him.
"Tell me what?"
"He's your birth father. I knew this from the moment I saw you that night at the party; that's why I approached you. It was only a few hours later I noticed your were also the girl in the pictures from the basement. I promise you this was never to get information, you didn't even know. All I knew was that I was attracted to you and didn't care about the consequences until now."
My vision becomes blurred from tears. "I'm adopted?" I ask. He nods.
"Your father is really your uncle and your mom is really your aunt. None of us know his reason for giving you up." I drop back down to the couch and take in a shakey breath.
"So he was the man that took me to the hospital the night I was shot," I say. He knees down and grips my thighs with his tattooed hands.
"I'm not going to let hon or anyone on his side get close to you ever again. You hear me?" I nod, looking into his eyes with a blank expression.
"Yes."AN: What's to come next? Please comment and share! Believe in yourself -Vaeh
